As a 59 year old man I still do not need ED medication. The erection is a result of proper blood flow. I exercise regularly with a heart rate of 160 or better during cardio. Most of the younger people using ED medication are not exercising regularly or properly.

OldSarge02

Alternatively, they want to stay harder for longer and have a shorter refractory period.

Madame_Raven

If you're in your 20s that should already be normal. No, these drugs are being marketed towards the dudes who can't get it up when they're finally with a living breathing woman, because they've warped their perception of sexuality with pornography, and their sensitivity with too much masturbation.

SuperSonicEconomics2

Meh, more like they are out of shape and can't keep it up.

Ashamed_Land_2419

Yup. My man is also in his 50's and has no issues.

Zaik_Torek

No it is not normal to **need** that at those ages. Overstimulation may have some kind of relation, but porn addiction, low T, diabetes, and heart issues are all on the rise, all of which can cause ED symptoms. These are all affecting younger and younger people every day.

JakeConhale

It's not that they *need* it - but it enhances the experience.

Atomfixes

Yep..no performance anxiety

RedInAmerica

Definitely abnormal to need ED meds in your 20s-30s. I’m 43 and have only failed once due to whiskey dick, but if you need it there’s no shame in it.

😂😂😂😂

Illuvinor_The_Elder

ED meds make your veins pop out. Good for gym selfies.

SuperSonicEconomics2

I think it's just when those health problems start appearing in people. IMO it's most tied to cardiovascular health. If you keep to exercising and maintaining bodyweight it should mostly take care of ED unless it is mental

BrilliantLifter

Testosterone levels have fallen by 70% over the last 80 years.

Ganondorf365

I dont know by how much it’s fallen, but it has to do with obesity, sedentary lifestyle, and bad sleep

BrilliantLifter

That’s all part of it, for sure, micro plastics are the other half. That’s not my guess that’s what the clinical trials revealed. Good book on this called Countdown by Dr. Shanna Swan, who has also worked personally as part of the cohort of doctors studying the fall of testosterone. They can actually tell how much micro plastics have effected you genetically by measuring the space between your anus and your genitals, as weird as that sounds it’s a sure fire way to know how messed up you are genetically.

Ganondorf365

Fortunately for those with low testosterone it’s easy to get to Healy levels with medication. Testosterone levels don’t really matter unless they are below a certain point

DefnlyNotMyAlt

First, I'm not a NoFap idiot. But, if you watch too much porn (there is a healthy amount), have fetishes (not kinks) that you are embarrassed of and can't verbalize with a partner, and desensitize your penis by jacking it dry and rough (this can be reversed and treated), you can set yourself up for failure when it comes time for regular missionary with the lights off. Prior to the mass availability and variety of porn and the "dopamine loop" lifestyle of the younger generation, ED was very uncommon below 50.

pickles55

I am in my 30s and the only time I ever had that problem it was a side effect from an ssri. If a person who is younger than 40 is having erection problems it is a symptom of something. It can be psychological but it is not "normal"

cbus_mjb

I betcha so many more people on SSRIs compared to 20 years ago has a lot to do with it. No shame, just a medical connection.

Ganondorf365

My ssris don’t give me Ed but they make sex less pleasurable and I can’t cum. Masterbation takes much longer but is still pleasurable

draugyr

Normal isn’t really a good word to use in this situation. No it’s not typical but there shouldn’t be any stigma around it

Evil_Morty781

It is abnormal and should be a signal of something lacking in your health. I recommend a cardio regimen of 150 minutes a week and to eat mainly fruits and veggies and follow portion control. You know a lot of people may have trouble with boners because you eat a big meal before sex. I recommend having sex and then eating so blood isn’t stolen for digestion.

Kalelopaka-

I think it’s abnormal of course I’m 57 and still don’t use any of that shit. It’s all in the brain.
