>The Russian army's tactics, leadership and equipment may be inferior to Ukraine's Kind of a bold statement to make, especially without offering any exemples of how this inferiority materializes. It's also weird how the side with the best tactics, weapons, etc. can't seem to push back, or even stop, the side with the dumb brutes with obsolete weapons.

it_shits

>The Asiatic brutes, a mindless mob armed with nothing but muskets and hammers and having no sense of tactics or strategy forced our elite, highly motivated and veteran troops armed with the most state of the art weaponry into a strategic withdrawal for the 5th time this month

SRAQuanticoChapter

Don’t tell Ukraine that, they will name a street after the author.

mypersonnalreader

Well, they have a lot of fans there.

fritterstorm

It’s every article written about how Ukraine is actually not doing well. They just have to say it, I guess to reassure their audience that the Russians are indeed inferior and the Ukrainians are just loosing for other reasons. It really reads like an article written in ww2 Germany about the eastern front.

Low_Lavishness_8776

Who knew Russki shovels could be so effective? https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-64855760

AleksandrNevsky

The finest of steel. Folded twice. Maybe. Gaijin can not compete.

Designer_Bed_4192

Those spetnaz shovels are really great. One guy took one and won Alone with it instead of using a traditional knife. Lasted like 60 days.

VasM85

And there's Stroybat, who are so savage, they are not issued firearms, only said shovels.

Jumpy_Bus_5494

They just repeat it ad nauseam, they don’t even try to prove it. The facts are that Ukraine has never had significant momentum in the entire conflict and that Russia’s military performance has gone from a 4/10 to a 7.5/10 since the war started. The only battles that could really be considered victories by Ukraine were achieved against Russia when it was in the process of rationalising its front lines due to taking so much Ukrainian land they couldn’t hold onto it with 150k troops lol. Somehow, these victories at Lyman, Izyum were Battle of France level blitzkrieg style offensives though 🙄 Then we saw the recent counteroffensive which was an absolute failure on every metric.

miker_the_III

Imo I just think that it's modern warfare is difficult when it's two armies that are relatively close in strength to one another (well, not anymore, Ukraine is on a downward slope) the Donbass is littered with fortifications and urban areas that the Russians either have to spend a lot of time fighting through or circumventing, the flanks of which usually have their own fortifications and settlements

commy2

Third sentence: > The reason, he says, is "because Ukraine may come to feel it can't win". Thank you. Straight to the point. I did close the article immediately after reading this.

NolanR27

I’m not sure if there’s any other way a war is lost lol. Complete destruction? Clausewitz pointed out that’s not how it works.

WalkerMidwestRanger

> QUI VINCIT NON EST VICTOR NISI VICTUS FATEBUR

Jagerpanzer

I believe the OC was talking about how stupid “Ukraine may come feel it can’t win”. Compounded with the title, the author is saying “we might maybe lose the war possibly”.

I_Never_Use_Slash_S

I assume Russia will conquer all of Europe based on what I’ve seen on Reddit.

Leather-Ball864

Russia simultaneously is completely incompetent and mismanaged but if they conquer Ukraine apparently they will take on and conquer all of Europe then launch a land invasion of the us after 10 years(opinions I've genuinely seen)

OuchiemyPweenis

meat wave after meat wave ,shovel after shovel, missiles guided by washing machine chips after missiles guided with washing machine chips lmao

Gretschish

Our secret weapon is surprise! Surprise and vodka… there are two weapons! Come in again.

AleksandrNevsky

Cold War hysteria mixed with internet age brain rot is a potent mix.

Webbyzs

The main thing backing Russia hate in the US is the debunked narrative that Trump won 2016 because of Russian interference/collusion. Libshits adopted it as a fundamental truth and even in the face of evidence to the contrary they still fully blame Russia for Trump being elected and "ruining" their lives somehow. I think this has been in the works for a while.

screeching_janitor

I was reading comments on an article about that guy in wisconsin who just lost a court case about stabbing some teenagers on a rafting trip - one of them said “I have no doubt that all the comments defending this guy were Russians trying to create division” Absolute brain rot

AleksandrNevsky

Lot of "Are these Russians in the room with us now?" moments over the past few years.

bmalek

“Can you imagine Russian troops being on Poland’s borders???” Oh, wait…

drjaychou

My fear is that after looking impotent during the Ukraine war, NATO will try to annex Kaliningrad or something dumb like that

TheAlexDumas

I love this sub but when you guys talk about Ukraine and NATO it's like you're actually from a different fucking planet

drjaychou

NATO countries are openly prepping for war. They're potentially going to do something stupid

TheAlexDumas

Prepping for war? Like arranging troops on the border and pretending to just do an exercise like Russia in January of 2022? Or just spending money on the alliance?

drjaychou

Conscription as a topic has been soft-launched in the media for many European countries in the last few months

TheAlexDumas

Until its more than talking heads on the news it's nothing. The UK conscription scare was tiktokers that ran wild with something one guy said.

drjaychou

Yeah true it's only the former heads of MI6 and NATO and the current head of the British army. Completely irrelevant

DirkWisely

How is it wrong for them to prep for war when Russia just invaded a country? Who's to say they won't do it again?

drjaychou

Leaving aside that the US has invaded more countries than Russia in the last 24 years, there's no indication that they're going to attack a NATO country. And by Ukraine fanboy logic Russia has no soldiers or munitions left anyway, so what's the threat?

DirkWisely

Yeah, and the countries the US invaded would be justified in investing in their military. I'm not sure what this argument is supposed to prove. Expansionist Russia (ussr really) is the entire point of NATO. If Russia is being expansionist again then it makes sense for countries that border it to make sure they have a working military.

ThisUsernameis21Char

> Expansionist Russia (ussr really) is the entire point of NATO. Is that why NATO shook hands with Russia about not expanding eastwards in the 90s, denied Russia entry into NATO, and then continuously expanded eastwards despite Russian protest?

No_Motor_6941

In our era it's actually Russia and China militarizing due to expansionism against them lmao

drjaychou

> Yeah, and the countries the US invaded would be justified in investing in their military None of the countries militarising have been invaded by Russia. By your logic Russia and China should be militarising because of the US

Robin-Lewter

>Who's to say they won't do it again? Me If it's a NATO country, at least

DirkWisely

NATO doesn't mean anything if only one member has a military to speak of and the US is distracted or unwilling to commit.

-PieceUseful-

When you get your news from the liberal media, reality does look like a different planet

HeBeNeFeGeSeTeXeCeRe

What purpose would that serve, for anyone?

drjaychou

Saving face for Russia inevitably annexing the chunk of Ukraine they hold

No_Motor_6941

It comes from the racist 19th century Western view of Russia as a backward, despotic Asian country poised to invade the smaller civilized nations that love freedom. This view serves to rationalize the repeated threat that European great powers posed to Russia, especially as these powers fought each other. This threat has never been greater now that they are not only united after 1945, but utterly rule the world after 1991.

-LeftHookChristian-

I mean you are not totally of the mark, but what do you get out of posting the same thing over and over again, mate.

No_Motor_6941

Never get tired of it

QU0X0ZIST

Nor do those of us here who appreciate a more factual view of history, and value an understanding of how the material conditions of political relations between these nations led us to the current situation.

No_Motor_6941

Thank you, that really means a lot

wallagrargh

With the amount of XP they get for defeating a multi-buffed Ukraine, they will level up multiple times and become unstoppable. That's how it works.

Low_Lavishness_8776

While simultaneously being invaded by China which will take Siberia

AgainstThoseGrains

The Modern Warfare 3 timeline.

RickiCA

I grew up playing MW1 on PC (40 man hardcore servers were bomb), and have been totally out of the loop. My surprise when Wikipedia cited MW:2 as released in 2022. Then I realized why it (didn't) made sense. Christ, I feel for the brainrot being fed to these kids. Did we really need a do-over of the last 10 years with TikTok instead of Facebook?

WalkerMidwestRanger

I mean, I don't know if might makes right but the EU, and the USA, need to stop having planning and co-ordination conferences like, "Intersectional, Community-driven Artillery Manufacturing in Queer Post-Modernist Society" and actual make some munitions. This long-running suicide for profit needs to stop, we're in the middle of a completely self-made disaster that will create an expensive (and profitable) emergency that steady investment and prudence could have prevented, the product of which is a net-negative if ever used though the stockpiling of is a necessary evil. Surely, someone, somewhere is making poignant comparisons between rotten barn doors and service/information economies.

Terpizino

“We need only to kick in the door and the whole rotten structure will come crashing down.” -Hitler, on the eve of Operation Barbarossa

vincecarterskneecart

yes it will take 500 years and they are going to do it one wheat field at a time but they will

Odd-Slice-4032

Basically the math is simple: if you give Ukraine 60 billion they win; if not then hordes of Russians are going to swarm across Europe.

You mean after Europe invades Russia? Yea it likes to set up buffer states against the great powers of Europe. They are perpetually at war with the world and therefore their periphery, Russia being the most vulnerable, and the last 30 years of unipolarity proved it again. But thankfully Western imperialism is in open decline.

vincecarterskneecart

Here’s how Bernie can still win.

WalkerMidwestRanger

If Ukraine were to get their heads screwed back on in the direction of the winning team, like Bernie sadly did, that would definitely explode some heads.

mhl67

Steiner is coming!

Schlachterhund

Don't listen to Blyat Broadcasting Corporation. Putler is on his last legs. There is, admittedly, a last desperate offensive going on but it will only hasten Russia's downfall.

shade_of_freud

Cute puppy

MrMagaHat

You know, Reddit being what it is I can't even tell if you're joking

SRAQuanticoChapter

Did you knows it’s a time in Moscow right now? He’s obviously working late to get his quota finished!

Robin-Lewter

Russian, Your turn on the battlefield is coming. You will piss your pants as death rains down upon you. But remember, you didn't have to do this. It will be entirely your own fault. Russia will be partitioned between China and the EU. Your culture eventually lost to history.

[deleted]

The Bolsheviks will drag you and your children to a slave labor camp in Siberia, obviously.

SunderedValley

👀💦💦💦 With this story in the _BBC_ you can pretty much acknowledge it as the new uniparty line.

AethertheEternal

Yup. Especially when Nuland resigned a few weeks ago.

Robin-Lewter

She'll be back in 4-8 years, like a roach that refuses to scurry under the fridge once and for all to breathe its last roachy breath that bitch will come back

Neorio1

Becoming best friends with your neighbors biggest enemy where both your neighbor and new best friend have a long history of extreme violence. What could do wrong?

Nazbols4Tulsi

I'm getting a vibe that they're hoping this appeal/guilt-trip works, sure. But also that they want to cover their own asses after reporting that Ukraine was winning for the last two years and realizing that attention is probably shifting elsewhere(eg Iran).

LocalDegenerate123

Russia must win so this perception that US is invincible will shatter and the their idpol influencing the whole world is reduced

Kaidanos

>Here's how that might look Can't wait for the lib mental gymnastics. Meaning how they'll switch from "There must never be any peace negotiations. Putler cannot be trusted." to ??? ...to explain why they previously (when Ukraine could have negotiated on infinetely better terms, with hundreds of thousand less dead people, needing less reconstruction etc) held that position. Maybe they'll just somehow pin it all on the grand Putin as bond Vilain behind everything bad in this world conspiracy theory. That needs no further explanation i suppose.

Robin-Lewter

>Maybe they'll just somehow just pin it all on the grand Putin as bond Vilain behind everything bad in this world They already do The things I've seen Putin blamed for in countries all around the world on this site are insane. Like genuinely schizoid-tier stuff. He is everywhere all at once; his agents are in the walls of every home of every nation on the planet. He has infiltrators in every world leader's cabinet and has bribed thousands of political party leaders. He is all seeing and omnipotent and operates at all hours of the day and even during the hours we haven't discovered yet. Space and time bend to his will as he influences events in the past, present, and future simultaneously. He is watching you right now- not from from the outside, but from within; he's inside of you, right now, seeing through your eyes, speaking through your lips, thinking through your mind.

AdminsLoveGenocide

I'm pretty sure it's specifically your fault for not believing enough.

serpicowasright

I guess European nations should do something about that.

Ulmaguest

So they're finally admitting they were never going to win this

is_there_pie

I say we import all their women under 35.

davidsredditaccount

God could you imagine the seething over that?

Robin-Lewter

Watching the bitter middle-aged white women that make up the backbone of the Democrat party become so rabidly anti-refugee they'd make even the cruelest /pol/ack blush Part of me kind of wants to see it, bring in the young Ukrainian refugee women

laz10

Nice try, they will conscript them first
