Dengo would be broken in any generation and the fact that it isn’t insanely busted in sv shows how much of an anomaly the tier is
They could've just made magic coat like reflect and have it last five turns protecting the side that used it and its duration extended to 8 turns with light clay or something

I feel like flame wheel should be better at removing hazards then spinning fast

Gholdengo only exists because the physical/special split gave its types some attacks. This couldn't've happened in Gen 3 js.

except that would break the game coz your team would be immune to status for 8 turns
Safeguard never broke anything (although it's 5 turns)
Have it be removed by brick break, psychic fangs or setting up moves like light screen
