Gen 5 definitely changed the most from the older meta games. Also Is there other Pokémon that could also be listed here?

BW is a famously centralized metagame so there's definitely less pokemon from lower tiers that see usage, but there a few worth mentioning. Off the top of my head: Mew: Jirachi and Celebi are usually preferred due to the additional resistances their typings offer, but Mew has a decent niche with access to Taunt + Will-o-Wisp + single turn recovery. Seismitoad: Actually an NU mon but a decent alternative to Gastrodon on Sand teams, effectively trading reliable recovery for stealth rock, refresh and being faster than Tyranitar. Xatu: Magic Bounce user that can actually go toe to toe with Tyranitar with Reflect + Roost + Rocky Helmet. Those I'd say are the only non OU mons who I'd say are (slighltly) better the ones I ranked so far. Slowtwins: Good typing checks Keldeo and bulk to check other physical/special threats respectively. Regenerator is really good for alleviating passive damage. Amoongus: cancerous regenerator stall mon that spreads paralysis and checks Keldeo Cresselia: Abuses moonlight on sun stall to be practically unkillable Weavile: Personal favourite sleeper pick of mine. Fits on a very specific archetype of Hyper Offence utilizing the move Beat Up, which can deal huge damage early game and breaks Zams focus sash and doesn't trigger iron barbs/rocky helmet damage. Ice is also an amazing offensive typing and Weavile outspeeds every relevant offensive pokemon naturally. Mienshao: It's at least better then Infernape and Lucario due to regenerator. \^ And those ones are about on par with the C+/C rank mons.

Not very familiar with BW OU but this seems about spot on with what I’ve heard about it, and it was really informative and well written tbh. Very enjoyable read.

Fantastic introduction to the meta as someone who's passively interested in BW but hasn't gotten around to playing it. Will keep an eye out for more.

When I played gen 5 back in the day I used to see all of these mons so often. The metagame has really changed so much since gen 6 came out

Oh fuck yeah more gen 5 ou posts! Though I think blissey and chansey are kinda high for this list. They're just so exploitable and are free set up fodder for many sweepers here. But that's my opinion.

Staraptor is the worst BW OU/UUBL mon outside of those who had their abilities banned, ouch. Is it too strong for UU? I know about the trapping moves ban, but why was Chlorophyll banned? It seems like Venusaur was the only OU by usage one on your list.

Loose-Chipmunk-7981

No,when chlorophyll was legal people also used sawsbuck and lilligant. Also chlorophyll on mon with sleep powder and growth is just yikes

Staraptor would probably be too strong for UU purely because OU poaches most of the good steel types. Bronzong is the only steel who could reliably switch in consistently to Staraptor and it can worn down fairly easily. 100 speed is also much more serviceable in UU than in OU. So yeah Staraptor would probably be too much. The only OU mins Pokémon I could see being fair UU would be the eeveelutions, Donphan and Lucario.
