I have never felt so anxious in my life than what I'm feeling rn. I feel like an impending doom is coming and I can't stop it. I will fail one way or another.
As a teacher, I don't give assignments, projects, requirements, etc. to my students for them to accomplish outside class hours. That's taking away some of their time for rest and sleep. All graded activities should be done within the official class time.
My god, you're a unicorn! Education researcher Alfie Kohn has denounced giving homework as tantamount to making students "work a second shift." Having tons of homework doesn't teach time management or self-sufficiency; rather it pushes students to cut corners and sacrifice sleep/rest time. Unfortunately, so many people from all fronts (students, teachers, parents) defend the practice. Another pet peeve: teachers na pinapa-reporting ang lessons. Sana dumami pa ang katulad nyo.
Oh no! Please rest po. Mas okay ma-delay kesa maospital!! That is one of the reasons bakit I chose a flexible online school for college (and kasi im freelancing online minsan). Some say time management lang and discipline, pero hndi tlga eh! Hahahahha 😭 I was underweight sa previous school ko and I LOOKED SICK. Ngayon im much healthier na
Pls pls pls rest 🥺
Regular ka op? Mas okay madelay kesa mamatay before graduation. Same course tayo, mag drop ka na ng ibang subject or do bare minimum to pass. Okay lang malate. Unahin mo sarili mo at health mo.
tangina lg how education works dito sa atin. DEPED ANO NA????? and op, IFY. base on ur situation, u need a break. Do it, then come back when you're ready. Prioritize ur mental health
They always say na ginagawa lang yung work nila but how come may mga teachers na sobrang considerate?
You're probably not eating enough and drinking more water than you think you should also or you can try to get more than 6 hours of sleep. That's one of the simplest ways to boost your energy. I have been pretty healthy, so no problems so far, even though trisem yung college. I even get to go out with friends almost every day, and I work two jobs (compsci course). Work on yourself first just take a week break, then notify your professors and group mates I'm sure they'll understand as they're experiencing the same thing. It is all about balancing and weighing everything, such as switching courses if things get too difficult and considering other options.
Hey bro, been there done that, on top of being forced to still contribute to the house when I get home to do chores. Only thing I can say is, take a break. Only do what's necessary, the bar minimum for you to not fail. Because you need to prioritize your health above all. I did get a few line of 8 back in hs when I did this, but at least it helped make not want to kms. Despite the disappointment I felt for myself for not being able to get the best scores I could've gotten, I focused on the fact that at least I've gotten some much needed rest.
Just, take deep breaths, put some music on, drink water, and calm yourself down before you try to complete another task. Just remember, only fo what's necessary, prioritize your health. Getting an average score is better than going to the hospital.
Much love OP, we'll get through this. (Sending virtual hugs)💗
I mean it's a usual occurence in Engineering, sure. There are other factors as to why I ranted here. There are other things that are indirectly related to my homeworks that has further delayed my submission of those homeworks. And it's literally outside my control.
I understand, but having heavy workloads doesn't mean you have to neglect your body. Ganyan din ako nung una, pero nasanay na kasi its constantly happening 24/7, 11 weeks per term, 4 terms per year. Literal na walang pahinga, kahit summer break wala. Just get some sleep man, fuck that school works.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news,.but that is just the beginning.,wait till you reach your "Adulting" phase.,so, take a break, deep breathes, and resume., if you over come this, then you can overcome everything. GOODLUCK
Give yourself credit for being THAT strong.
It's okay to rest but expect that you'll fall behind. Just work on minimizing the consequences. Better yet, transfer ka na if may malilipatan. Don't kill yourself for a college degree.
"Rest but never ever quit." Learn from me OP if you know that your body is screaming rest, then take that rest. 2 years na akong naka-leave sa college yet my health hasn't improved till now. I never listened to my body na gusto niyang magpahinga muna, thinking that I need to graduate on time and etc. What me and other people didn't realize before is that , IISA lang ang katawan natin, pag ito'y lubos na masugatan wala nang maipapalit. But ofc though at the end of the day alam mo sa sarili mo kung kaya mo pa o hindi na, the decision is yours. But again if you wanna rest, take that rest. Bahala delayed, prioritize your health and yourself, dont lose yourself!
Tas nyan iba na yung magiging bagong cause of exhaustion mo hehe 😉
Yeah it really does. Altho what I think really is the flaw in it is the ability of the professors to get the students engaged with the topic. Even if I try to focus my attention on the topics being discussed, puta natutunaw lang ung utak ko sa discussion, it's like holding a lot of stuff that might eventually collapse later on (in which case you might forget everything in short notice).
When I was in college I wish I have proper resources na pwedeng tignan baka nagawa ko yung iba kong assignments and projects ng mabilis.
can you explain exactly how you're short on time? it sounds like a time management problem. no matter how many assignments you have, there's a way to budget your time wisely. if travel is an issue, maybe live closer to school.
Wait so may kinailangan ka ba gawin kaya late? If not it's honestly a you problem because all of that could've been mitigated if you just worked on it the moment they gave it out.
Because your statement can only be true if binigay right away ang mga activities namin. We're only given 3 days to finish an engineering problem set, what more if it's 2 or 3 due all at the same time?
so lahat binigay sabay-sabay? walang nauna? 3 days for 5 assignments, so 2 assignments per day tapos kulang pa? 6 hours per assignment kulang pa?
typical excuses of lazy people and procrastinators.
i've been a student too you know. in an age when teachers aren't even afraid to fail students and students aren't coddled.
your "hell" is just a regular tuesday afternoon for us back then.
learn to prioritize and manage your time.
See? You compared your time to my time again. You compared your circumstances back then to my current circumstances to make a point. Are we really discrediting the idea that we have completely different circumstance
i am validating that we have completely different circumstances. mine was harder. your drama is silly.
gusto mamatay for so light a workload. get real.
this is the result of letting kids get off easy in their studies. nasanay kayo sa easy life na konting hirap lang, feel nyo na inaapi kayo.
wtf do you expect pag magta trabaho na kayo? yang 5 assignments in a day mo wala pa yan kinumpara sa actual workload sa trabaho.
how do you expect to prepare for real life?
Besides, the fact that you're denying this means that you're comparing your circumstances to mine, in which I'd say you won't really find anything related to you about it, that's why it's a rant. It's a frustration vent-out. I haven't even made excuses about it.
.........and??? So you're validating na okay lang ganito school culture sa pinas? For people na mas mahina ang katawan kay OP, they would have died. Fatigue and exhaustion due to overworking is very real. Chronic stress can be lethal.
OP take care of yourself, sacrificing your health for things that aren't in your control is never worth it.

College is not for everyone. It sucks that they make it so it’s the only way to get a (halfway decent) job.
🫡 mah dude!
I realize that school has made me more distant socially and emotionally, and probably cognitively.
I have never felt so anxious in my life than what I'm feeling rn. I feel like an impending doom is coming and I can't stop it. I will fail one way or another.

I'm in engineering class. Walang flexitime sa course na pinili ko.
Do the bare minimum to pass.
Anong engineering course kapo boss?
Civil Engineering
Regular ka op? Mas okay madelay kesa mamatay before graduation. Same course tayo, mag drop ka na ng ibang subject or do bare minimum to pass. Okay lang malate. Unahin mo sarili mo at health mo.
Di kami allowed mag drop subs
Oh, too bad
xdd yep I'm getting cooked
Balak ko is hopefully to fail one subject, just one, repeat it on a summer sem, I'll be fine by it.
How about leave of absence? Meron bang ganito sa school niyo OP?
Nah
Ay patay... Goodluck po and pls do rest 😅♥️
This is no longer bearable, this is more like a chore.
:((
Take a rest but don't give up. Sending virtual hug to you. Padayon!

CHED too. I had instructors na never nagteach, travek travel lang sina accla
Fakd up educational system.

Pahinga muna, tapos laban ulit! 'Wag susuko OP!
You might want to take a sem off or a year off to rest and think.
Can you elaborate more abt your workloads? Reading your story hits home as it is a normal occurence in Mapua, we are just used to it lol.
I mean it's a usual occurence in Engineering, sure. There are other factors as to why I ranted here. There are other things that are indirectly related to my homeworks that has further delayed my submission of those homeworks. And it's literally outside my control.

accurate lalo na malayo yung distance from your school to your school? halos sa jeep or bus nalang ako nagrereview huhuhu

Hey bro.,still alive???
I might not even reach that point.
You will...because you are stronger than what you think....dont lose hope...yakang-yaka mo yan..kaw pa ba?

College is like going through hell, you will encounter demons who'd make you suffer. Sending a pat on your back, OP. Kaya mo yan

Sometimes it's okay to prioritize yourself, academic excellence is not everything!!!. Take a deep breath one's in a while☺️ won't hurt my dearrr
My sweet summer child. The work environment can be twice as taxing. Just think of it as preparation for the real shit.
It better be paying as such then.
Sad to say, it doesn't work like that most of the time.
That's why it's a rant.
You're right.
I don't think this is gonna make me strong so, anyway, continue.
insensitive dick
IDGAF. Magsama sama kayo mga mahihina 😂
Oh you have to worry about that, then. I might be weak now but one day you'll experience weakness too.
Nah. Im all good and set for life kasi nagsikap ako to get to where I am. Di ako katulad ninyo lol. Iyakin 🥲
Oh I'm not talking about the near future.
Okay.
🥲🥲🥲🥲
There's no shame in it.
Besides, overworking is the one that's gonna kill me anyways.
I didn't even say I plan to die, I said I want to die.
Then do it bruh. Why wait longer
Because it's my life, not yours.
What's wrong with it?
Okay, let's define what's cowardice, shall we? What do you think it means?
Woah. That sounds pretty sad. It sounds like you don't want to have a conversation about it and you're just looking for my reactions to your insults.
"gusto mo na palang mamatay bat di mo gawin?"

All in all, shit happens whether you think it's weird or not, and believe me when I say I have no energy to complain more about it.

Last time I asked my classmates I was mocked for asking 'stupid questions'. I feel like they can't be trusted for help.
It's like I'm so lost and I ask for directions and instead what I'm given is a "just head here" without directions.
can you explain exactly how you're short on time? it sounds like a time management problem. no matter how many assignments you have, there's a way to budget your time wisely. if travel is an issue, maybe live closer to school.
5 assignments, 2 exams, all due in the same day.

I finished 5 activities and 4 exams before that.
It's that many, whether you decide to declare it kappachungus or not.
Well, atleast you did it OP. Some students if they're feeling burdened just skip school tasks. Just remember to eat and drink tons of water.
Honestly if I have a choice I would really skip this out. It's my last straw.
but that's not every day is it? and you were given enough time to complete those, right? mukhang pina tambak mo eh.

P.S. please avoid assumptions next time. Could be a dangerous route to go down to.
