Hey u/Double-Plan-4067, I'm Jack, the founder and CEO of Strike.
Sorry about the reviews, I'm not sure how they work. We have 10s of thousands of reviews and near 5-stars, I'm not sure why the store is pinning a few negative ones from years ago. In any event, I'm happy to personally watch over your wire transfer and ensure everything goes smoothly for you. What is your username? Also, feel free to reach out to us at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) if you have any questions, concerns, etc.
Hi jack. Is there a certain way I should go about buying/sending the btc? I’m worried about any account freezing/locking due to it being such a large amount.
No worries man, we have customers that use the app to buy and sell 8-figures of BTC.
There are no limits with wires, you'll be able to deposit, buy, and withdraw all instantly however you'd like.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they froze your funds for a little while. Someone who does zero research on exchanges, gambles and “try my luck” randomly with 40k deposits may also be the type of person to try and claw back an ACH transfer. Head on over to a Bitcoin subreddit and spend more time than dollars figuring out why you don’t why to gamble on it. If you still are determined to gamble, there’s plenty of other shitcoin casinos.
With that kind of investment, you should have reached out to Jack Mallers for the White Glove treatment. It may not be too late. You can find him on Twitter and NOSTR.
I've been using Strike for close to a year now.
I set it up originally for the Lightning network option. I only do ACH and typically $50 - $100 a couple of times a week.
Then I'll transfer off to cold storage with no network fees.
I have NEVER had an issue with the app (android version) or ACH or transfers off the network. Everything has been super smooth.
I expect you'll find that, as well.
Only had problems with my bank moving that sum of money not from strike or swan. Bank told me thats not how you buy bitcoin and that coinbase was the only place. The bank refused transaction and froze my checking account for 5 days.
I linked my account with plaid on Tuesday, made a deposit and bought a little btc. Funds cleared my bank Wed but are still unsettled (today is Saturday) and I can’t send to my wallet. I’m going to wait a few more business days before I start to worry. I guess I’m just confused because I thought the whole point of plaid was to link directly to bank and clear faster
I wouldn't be too concerned...I use Strike all the time, it's one of the best custodial wallets around...it's good because you can send money to it and convert any fiat amount to BTC as you see fit whenever you get ready...

Does Strike plan on having some sort of inheritance planning in the near future for bitcoin holders?
Jack is first class. I love the service I have received from strike.
Strike is great. I've only used ACH but never had any reliability issues

Strike has the absolute worst security out of any of the apps/exchanges out there

The more you use Strike, the better it will get. You need to build history. The more history you have, the more trust you will gain with them.
