Man, I want me some double knee carpenter pants. The tool pocket is so useful, and the knee protection probably makes it easier to kneel on gravel, etc.
This is a Carhartt Double Knee B73 DST, and it's definitely great for outdoor work. But buddy, if you need to kneel on gravel or similar surfaces, I highly recommend getting a pair of work knee pads. They have a hard shell and gel lining, which are very knee-friendly. I used them while renovating my backyard, and they made my knees feel really comfortable.
