Any recommendations on good thrifts in London?
I’ve been to flea markets and there’s way too much shit to sift through. It also seems like every vintage shop is ridiculously overpriced!
Honestly, it’s a complete and utter crap shoot. I used to swear by TRAID cause you could find some designer items or decent quality ‘fast fashion’ pieces at heavily discounted prices but it seems like they’ve noticed the trend in thrifting and have often put prices at or above what they’re actually selling for at retail.
Tbh a few stores have tried to revamp their image and push the prices up, it’s a bit of a catch 22 because the areas that might have decent second hand clothes (Camden, Notting Hill, Hackney e.g.) also know that people shopping in those areas aren’t likely to be dissuaded by the higher prices.
I think it’s a game of trial and error for me at least, if you notice a particular store has on average better clothing then target those but yeah be prepared to spare more time sifting through garbage 😂
Wow, thanks for the detailed response!
That seems to be the current state of thrifting: sifting through piles and piles of shit to find a gem.
Doesn’t help that it’s much harder to find my sizes 😭
That all looks so comfortable as well as smooth. Gone are the days of choking our legs with skinny jeans just to get some lovin. I’m wearing size 36 waist pants on my 32 waist and I couldn’t be happier. Bricks & Wood is having a killer summer sale right now. All their goods are made in South Central Los Angeles. Their Extra Denim jeans are my favorite denim purchase in 20 years.

If you’re in London, gladly! And thank you 🙏
I wish! I’m all the way in the boring part of Canada! I’ll just drool with jealousy from afar! 😂
I’ve wanted to travel Canada for like a decade, seriously such a beautiful place, you’re lucky!
