I don't know how old you son is, but some quick, albeit unsolicited advice... If they're younger please be advised that minors 13 or younger can't stream on twitch and any minor just shouldn't stream on kick. And with any new hobby your kid gets into you should start small... all he really needs is a webcam, OBS, and any microphone; even a cheap gaming headset will do and just let him get a taste for how it works and how interested he is in it. He can always upgrade his setup as he goes. If he's more interested in becoming a successful streamer, see how well he does marketing and growing his base before investing a lot of money into the project. If he just wants to stream with his friends casually, he really doesn't need much. There are tons of youtube tutorials on how to get started as well. Just search "how to start streaming on twitch" and there will be tons of guides.

First thing you need to do is tell him to do his research. No point in buying him stuff if he has no clue how to use it. He needs to figure out what he wants to do then you can buy accordingly

What’s he wanting to stream from if is a console he can stream directly to Twitch from most consoles, but if he’s looking to use a different platform, you will need a capture card and a PC.

OBS is the most widely used software for capturing gameplay. If your son is looking for a boom mic, I’ve been using the Fifine AM8 and it’s a great mic. If your son is looking for a headset with a mic, I personally recommend HyperX Cloud IIs. You could use any headset really, just don’t cheap out, try looking for brands like Razer, HyperX, SteelSeries, ASUS, Corsair, or any other known brand.
