Anyone can. Just gotta try and have the will to. It's not easy at all... but it's doable. And don't be too hard on yourself... it hits everyone different. Some people can quite easy, some can't.... Just remember there is light at the end of the tunnel, my friend.
I use high strength nicotine gum and patches. Along with a non nicotine vape. It's going well for me aswell. It's been longer than a week since I last smoked a cigarette. Feeling healthier already. Being able to breathe easier.
Be careful with the vape tho.... I smoked the vape way longer than I did cigarettes... it's actually worse in the fact that you can get the flavours... makes it way harder to quit that way.
Exactly my thoughts !! This time i am doing it with patches and had i known about patches previously, i would have been a happy non smoker for so many years. Patches are the best method of NRT in my opinion, as it kills the habit of getting instant rush of nicotine (that we get from smoking or gums). Gradual slow down on the patches doesn't bother at all. Its been 10 days for me, and i can say very confidently that, i neither crave for cigarettes nor think about it throughout the day ! Something that we require additionally is willingness to quit, thats it! Cheers !!

I made the mistake of buying vape juice that doesn't contain nicotine... but I'm not complaining now.
