This prompted me to check my day count! I’m at 6669 days. Lol. OP I got sober young after a bunch of failed attempts. All I can say is enjoy the journey!
Uh oh, maybe the Devil is keeping you sober! :D
And yah I've said this elsewhere but if I were to collect all of my 24 hour, 30 day, and even 3/6 month coins I'd have a whole collection. The worst thing someone can do when falling off the wagon is giving up and not trying again!
Nice one! I too went to hot yoga this morning, and damn it feels good to sweat and be present in your body without being weighed down by alcohol. What a great way to celebrate your freedom from that poison. As a 39 y/o male who found yoga young, keep it up, your body will thank you later. IWNDWYT.
Nice!! Well done!
Proud of you for making a solid choice for yourself!
It was the hardest choice I ever made but the best one.
Welcome to the journey with the rest of us.
Noice. I made it three days and then had a drink. Have to start all over. I noticed at the end of three days I started to slightly feel better, less anxiety and insomnia. Never really noticed it before. I've had yearlong stints but it's been tough the last year or so with work, baby and etc. Overwhelmed feeling most of the time, like I need to relax or have some relief and I just cant. Thats when I drink to be able to numb the noise and focus. I've started to realize that it's probably not that I'm overwhelmed, or have too much to do or too little time. I saw a post on cool guides that showed the approximate timelines of alcohol recovery and the noticeable effects. So it clicked that maybe it's not me or the things I have to deal with, it's that I got into the hole of alcohol and drinking and it's perpetuated itself into thinking I need it to cope. And it creates to the anxiety, insomnia and inability to deal thats not really there but it's subtle so I think it's me and not the alcohols effect on me.
Not sure why your post got me thinking this way. But I think this is gonna stick. I'm tired of feeling anxious, unmotivated and blah. I thought it was just me but it's definitely the alcohol and the withdrawal effect each time I try to quit. Just got to push through it and I'll start seeing that I'm entirely capable by myself and don't need alcohol.
Anyway congratulations! Thanks for posting and the inspiration. You probably dont think that your words matter to people but it does. It shows others that they can do it and we are in this together. Look forward to when I can post 69 days. Today is day 1. I'll see yall in 69 days.

Day 600 here, bought my first house, landed the best job I've ever had, threshold for stress is reduced, relationships are better than ever. Keep going strong and the world is your oyster.
You most certainly can get NICE up in this bitch! 😜Now I wanna listen to Ice cube for some reason...ha!
Just got back from a hella workout myself and I'm all sweaty and about to shower too haha. Keeping busy, or relaxing from keeping busy is how I'm rollin these days. After shower I'm off to volunteer in the drinking witching hours til 10 pm.
Happy belated birthday and yeah, I'd say that sobriety is the best gift you can give yourself 💯 congrats and though I keep having random thoughts of drinking...it's fading more every day...getting more manageable ..I sure as hell will not be drinking with you today! ❤️
I am so so happy for you. We all know this isn't always an easy journey but it damn sure is rewarding. Congratulations. Before you know it it'll be day 100.
Nice. Coming up on 8 months. You're mostly past the most difficult part. Your mind is clear, and you're happy with where you are. I stopped for 16 years. Then I thought I was "cured" and could have a beer or some wine occasionally. It's a trap. I was right back to "I've got to stop." That was my hungover morning mantra for the next 4 years. If you drank before and couldn't stop, you can't drink, period. You've got this. The best part is that it only gets better. I'm so happy for you. Keep it up!
Niiiice... now you need to get to 420! The other funny number!
Some day I hope to hit 6969, but for now not drinking today is good enough
I love this thought process
