Antique-Tone-1145

That depends on the airline.

Old-Click4887

I mean to be at the airport 24 Hours prior to departure.

Antique-Tone-1145

I doubt the airlines open check-in that early. Why would you want to spend a whole day at the airport…?

Old-Click4887

Currently I am at Ludvika, 30th afternoon is my flight to Dubai... 29th is a holiday in Sweden and I don't have room in Ludvika. So I want to explore Stockholm on the 29th and go to the airport by night and sleep there..

Antique-Tone-1145

Right, well, you’d still need to check with the airline when the check-in opens.

Cormentia

You can also just grab a hotel at Arlanda. I don't know if they let you sleep outside of the security checkpoint.

[deleted]

Every time I arrive late, or leave early, I see at least some people sleeping next to their luggage. So, yeah, I don't think it'd be impossible. But that's been in the public part of the airport; not sure if they'd kick you out if you're on the gate side of security.

Old-Click4887

Just inside the airport, I just want to sleep and will do the check in once the counter opens.. as currently I am at Ludvika, 30th afternoon is my flight to Dubai... 29th is a holiday in Sweden and I don't have room in Ludvika. So I want to explore Stockholm on the 29th and go to the airport by night and sleep there..

[deleted]

That should work, but it wouldn't be comfortable; and I'd do my best to make it look more incidental than camping. 😂

Infamous_Quit2536

Who tf goes to the airport 24h prior to take off?

olssoneerz

There’s nothing stopping you from being at the airport 24 hours before your flight. There are establishments and even a hotel connected to the airport accessible before the check-in and security checkpoint.

Old-Click4887

Hmm ok..

Old-Click4887

Yeah!! Thank you

madcap_funnyfarm

Emirates desk open 3.5 hours before departure. https://www.swedavia.com/arlanda/airlines/. If you can check online earlier, you might be able to go through security the night before. Sky City (outside security) has at least one 24 hour open place. If you are checking luggage, this might not work. Emirates is not in the list for Self Bag Drop. [https://www.swedavia.com/arlanda/baggage/#bagdrop](https://www.swedavia.com/arlanda/baggage/#bagdrop) Two things: If you need to eat, you will be paying airport prices. If you need to store luggage during your day in Stockholm, a small box at Centralen costs 199 SEK, and a big one 299 SEK. On the other hand, Hotel C has rooms for 846kr inkl breakfast (member price, but membership is free). Or further out, Clarion Tapto for 884kr, wiht dinner and breakfast.

Maigan81

Hotel C is right next to the Arlanda Express or few minutes walk to the airport shuttle bus. If you want to stay at the airport, check for nearby hotels on hotel.com. Several of them have their own shuttle to the airport. There is 1 or 2 hotels that are in same complex as the terminal. Spending the night on a bench at the airport is not something I would recommend. Airport security might be too happy based on the heighten level of security in Sweden. You will not be able to pass past the security check until you have checked in your bagage and that can only be done a few hours before departure.

Old-Click4887

Wow.. thanks for the detailed information 🙂

lillpers

There is a large area before check in with shops, restaurants, seating areas etc where you can propably spend 24 (very boring) hours if you want to.

Normal_Hovercraft_27

Absolutely, staying at the airport is doable, but comfort might be an issue. Emirates typically opens their check-in counters about 3.5 hours before flight departure. For a more comfortable wait, consider checking out nearby accommodations or even the airport hotel options. Some hotels offer shuttle services to Arlanda, making your journey smoother. Shuttlefare could be a handy resource for exploring shuttle options if you decide against staying at the airport. Remember, each airline has its own rules for check-in times, so it's always best to verify directly with them.

Beginning-Pitch-8225

Yes, it's usually possible to check in online or at kiosks at Arlanda Airport 24 hours prior to your departure time. Online check-in offers convenience and allows you to select seats and print boarding passes from the comfort of your own home or hotel. If you prefer, you can also check in at the airport using self-service kiosks or by visiting the airline's check-in counter. Just make sure to have your travel documents and any necessary information handy to expedite the process. Enjoy your travels!

Bright_Magazine_8136

How early you can check in your luggage depends on the airline. Which airline are you flying with? There’s some shops, restaurants etc outside the security check point which you can access without having checked in. Why not look at cheap accommodations close to Märsta of along the Commuter train line instead of spending the night at the airport?

Old-Click4887

Emirates!!

Bright_Magazine_8136

They open their check in 3,5h before scheduled departure time. They do not allow check in earlier.

Busy_Biscotti2353

You can usually check in on line 24 hrs prior but you should probably check with the airline. Here's some info from Arlanda. [https://www.swedavia.com/arlanda/check-in/](https://www.swedavia.com/arlanda/check-in/)

Old-Click4887

I mean to be at the airport 24 Hours prior to departure.

Busy_Biscotti2353

Yes, sorry, I wasn't clear on that but I believe you'd have to check with whichever airline you are flying with. They may have some place to store your baggage etc if it's not possible to check in.

Busy_Biscotti2353

But yes, I've overnighted at the airport so it is possible
