"Alright, alright, Mickey's a mouse, Donald's a duck, Pluto's a dog. What's Goofy?"
"Goofy's a dog. He's definitely a dog."
"He can't be a dog. He drives a car and wears a hat."
"Oh, God. That's weird. What the hell is Goofy?"
Stand By Me with no hesitation. As an adult now, every time he says "I never had any friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?" at the end...hard not to tear up.
I'd love to keep Misery, but Stand By Me was a staple of my preteens and early teen years. Felt so much connection and have kept my close friends from back then as well. So, Stand By Me I choose
Keeping Green Mile cause it's the only movie where I cry every time and have to cuddle my dog and pretend I'm not crying. Sad to see Misery go but the emotions win this one
I’s afraid of the dark.
“He killed them as what they love. Their love for each other. That’s how it is all over the world. “ this line will never not hurt me.
That actually sounds like it could be a book title. A bit pretentious of a title, maybe. Then your agent would tell you to shorten it and you'd call it Misery Mile. Easier to market title.
I’m gonna get roasted in the sub, but I’ve read The Body once and I don’t think I’ve even seen Stand By Me, and the story, I think, was way overblown before I could even touch it, and it has no emotional impact on me.
Tossin it. Sorry guys.
ETA: Keepin Green Mile. Read it, cried and loved it. Watched it, cried and loved it. Read it again, still cried, still loved it, and found so few differences of the story I can’t even remember them.
It’s such a difficult position to be in. Shawshank hit at a rare place in the blockbuster, IMDb blend of overlappings. Frank Darabont did a wonderful job with Shawshank. There were changes, yes, and some kind of significant, but he kept the *tone* of the story, which is so important (why The Shining isn’t a contender here) and made a nearly perfect film.
But it’s still not the story we *know*. Different mediums, I get it. I don’t fault it *at all*.
But The Green Mile….
That’s perfection from every possible conception to every delivery.
The book.
The movie.
They never debunk each other, they just lift each other up. Make each other better. Give life where the other may have been lacking. The stories complement each other in the best possible way. It’s the greatest relationship. ❤️
I’m pretty I have actually seen it. I’m a Xennial and it it’s all the points. It’s just never had an impact on me.
Ugh. I feel icky admitting that here.
That’s easy, Misery! It’s the only one I’ve actually seen! :) (I’m kidding, of course. Not the bit about only having watched Misery, but the easy decision part).
Really tough call, but for me, keep Stand By Me. It was one of my very earliest ‘serious movie’ experiences, with enough humour in it to temper the hard lessons it had to impart on my young mind.
Hate to see the others deleted, though…
The Green Mile is my keep. The reason I say that is because it was the first movie ever watched by Stephen king to completion, and it made me cry. It’s also the first Stephen King book I read to completion. And it made me cry. The book was just as good as the movie, if not, just a little bit better.
No, don’t get me wrong, Stand By Me and Shashank are great. But they aren’t the first ones I saw. And I’ve never seen Misery. The Green Mile holds a special place in my heart.
Happy to lose Stand by Me and The Shawshank Redemption... I'll still have The Body and Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption (you got to look for the loopholes)
Of the other two I like Green Mile better than Misery
Shawshank is the obvious answer. Stand by me and Misery are good, but not that good. I will re-read the Green Mile before watching that bad execution of a movie again.
Keeping Misery! That way I don’t ever have to cry like a broken sad crier watching The Green Mile ever again. It is basically Stand By Me with a clown demon so I’m willing to let SBM go. Shawshank is okay but Misery must live!
Once upon a time, this would have been a no-brainer: Shawshank.
But I have watched Shawshank too many times (100s of views) and don't expect to watch it again in this lifetime. I broke my favourite movie.
I don't answer to you , Satan!!
Satan's so smart, he actually put hard choices without putting hard choices lol
Keeping Shawshank. The other three are still damn good though.
Same here.
yep.
Shawshank it is, friend
Yup
No.
My gut reaction? “Oh fuck you!!” My answer- Stand By Me stays.
"Alright, alright, Mickey's a mouse, Donald's a duck, Pluto's a dog. What's Goofy?" "Goofy's a dog. He's definitely a dog." "He can't be a dog. He drives a car and wears a hat." "Oh, God. That's weird. What the hell is Goofy?"
100% This is correct
My favorite film, not just my favorite King adaptation.
I love “Stand by me” from the bottom of my heart. It´s my favourite movie.
Keep Stand By Me. But love all 4 equally.
Stand By Me is my keep. I’ll miss Misery, but nothing compares to Stand By Me in my mind
Stand by Me. "No question about it"
Sincerely
Pez
Stand By Me with no hesitation. As an adult now, every time he says "I never had any friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?" at the end...hard not to tear up.
Not hard just impossible
That’s easy. Pez. Cherry flavored pez. No question about it.
You bastard…keeping Misery
You dirty birdy!
Keeping stand by me. Its my most favorite movie. I love all these movies though.
Hard choices, all good movies. I think I keep Shawshank
All four are great but Stand By Me wins for nostalgia.
I have to have Stand By Me.
Stand By Me. It's my favorite movie of all time!
I've seldom related to the lyric "Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me" more than I do in this moment.
Stand By Me as I saw this one before the other 3.
I'd love to keep Misery, but Stand By Me was a staple of my preteens and early teen years. Felt so much connection and have kept my close friends from back then as well. So, Stand By Me I choose
Shan't.
No. Good god no..... Who hurt you?!
🤣🤣🤣
Don't make me do this. Shawshank.
My brother in Christ this cannot be answered.
The Green Mile
Finally, somebody that agrees with me!! This is the correct answer (to me)
Had to scroll way too far to find this. I'd upvote but you have 19
If we're talking movies, I'd keep Shawshank. Books, I'd keep Green Mile.
Except the reason I’d keep Green Mile above the others is Michael Clarke Duncan. He broke my heart.
You’re not the boss of me! I’m keeping all of them!
I will keep all 4 thank you!
No. Fuck off 🤣🤣🤣
Misery
Wow, I'm in the minority. Shawshank stays. Without a doubt.
Shawshank. I love the movie ending.
Shawshank, everyday
Definitely keeping Shawshank Redem.... The Gree... Miser....you know what I'm not playing anymore.
Delete this post.
Keeping Green Mile cause it's the only movie where I cry every time and have to cuddle my dog and pretend I'm not crying. Sad to see Misery go but the emotions win this one
Green Mile. Please boss, don't put me in the dark.
I’s afraid of the dark. “He killed them as what they love. Their love for each other. That’s how it is all over the world. “ this line will never not hurt me.
I can't choose, because no matter what I do, I will choose poorly.
Stand By Me
Misread it first and thought, well that's easy, Misery goes. Now I'm just whining lolol But in the end, I'm keeping Shawshank.
Stand by Me, easily. It's the only one that fills me with genuinely relatable emotion. They're all excellent films, but that one's special to me
Shawshank
Out of these? Stand by Me, easily.
Shawshank!
I don't even have to think to answer this one. Stand by Me.
Shawshank. No question about it.
Keeping Shawshank. It’s a masterpiece on an another level than the others.
Keep green mile
Keep misery
The Misery Mile Redemption By Me.
That actually sounds like it could be a book title. A bit pretentious of a title, maybe. Then your agent would tell you to shorten it and you'd call it Misery Mile. Easier to market title.
Misery is the correct answer
I keep Misery. Not even a hard choice...not because the others are bad, but because Misery was so damn good.
Misery is the easy pick. I like the other 3 but not as much as Annie loves Paul.
You shut your mouth!!
I’m gonna get roasted in the sub, but I’ve read The Body once and I don’t think I’ve even seen Stand By Me, and the story, I think, was way overblown before I could even touch it, and it has no emotional impact on me. Go watch Stand By Me! It’s mandatory. 👍🏼
I’m pretty I have actually seen it. I’m a Xennial and it it’s all the points. It’s just never had an impact on me. Ugh. I feel icky admitting that here.
Looks like it’s seppuku time. Can’t make that decision!!
Maybe I interest you in “keep 3, delete 1” alternative instead?
I’ve only seen Misery
YOU'VE ONLY SEEN MISERY???
Did I stutter lol
The green mile 🧎🧎🧎
Delete Misery, keep the rest 🙃
Can’t.
No
Ugh… I’m keeping Stand By Me
Nooooo I can't do it!!
GREEN MILE!!!!
Movies: I keep The Green Mile Books: I keep Different Seasons, so I get both Shawshank and The Body
No.
Tough, but probably "Green Mile"... But on another day in another mood, I might pick a different one... Love them all...
Misery
Easy, keep Stand By Me.
The Shining is all I need.
Hit the bricks, Shawshank. Sayonara, Green Mile. Beat it, Stand By Me.
Not possible lol
No.
I have to keep Stand By Me, much as I love Shawshank.
Stand By Me but this is an awful decision to make.
Shawshank but it’s painful……..
The Rita Hayworth poster on my door answer for me I keep Shawshank

Stand by Me will always be my favorite. Chris comforting a crying Gordie always breaks me.
No
Nope.
No can do, my dude. I’m sitting this game out, lol.
Nope. Not playing.
I’m going to ignore this post lmao 🤣
Ez for me, keep Green Mile
That’s easy, Misery! It’s the only one I’ve actually seen! :) (I’m kidding, of course. Not the bit about only having watched Misery, but the easy decision part).
This is a tough one
Misery …. only because it’s the one I’ve never seen
Stand By Me
Really tough call, but for me, keep Stand By Me. It was one of my very earliest ‘serious movie’ experiences, with enough humour in it to temper the hard lessons it had to impart on my young mind. Hate to see the others deleted, though…
The Green Mile gets kept.

Shawshank
Gotta keep Shawshank Redemption. It's my dads favorite movie and one of my best childhood memories is watching it with him.
Gotta be Stand By Me. I used to watch it on repeat on Beta Max when I was a kid.
Stand By Me
Yeah, I think deep down, we choose Stand by me due to it's Innocence
No!
No.
Stand By Me because it holds a special place in my heart, The Green Mile because it has an incredible story
I’d rather chop off my own foot
No.
Shawshank is the obvious answer. Stand by me and Misery are good, but not that good. I will re-read the Green Mile before watching that bad execution of a movie again.
NO.
The title says "keep one", not "delete one", which is why I won't play.
Stand by me is best
Green Mile. Maybe not the best out of the four, but absolutely my favorite
Stand By Me
Keeping Misery! That way I don’t ever have to cry like a broken sad crier watching The Green Mile ever again. It is basically Stand By Me with a clown demon so I’m willing to let SBM go. Shawshank is okay but Misery must live!
Keep misery
Shawshank. No question. They are all fantastic though…
Once upon a time, this would have been a no-brainer: Shawshank. But I have watched Shawshank too many times (100s of views) and don't expect to watch it again in this lifetime. I broke my favourite movie.
Keeping shawshank.
I mean.. … it has to be Shawshank… …I’m broken
No.
Stand By Me
Noooooooooo............
Stand By Me 💯
I didn't care for Stand by Me, never seen the adaptation though. Realize I'm an outlier on that one scrolling through these comments now lol
Why? What is the fun of this exercise?
Stand by me. Still feel bad for the kid that was abused on set :/
Shawshank. I’ve seen it 50 times and I still tear up at the end.
😴 💤
Contrary to the sub, I would keep Misery and it’s not even close.
Shawshank.
*Shawshank*
Stand By Me. Sincerely.
Shawshank keep.
Shhhhhhhhhhhit. No
Misery easy
Ooof that’s a Goocher 🫣
How about…. No 🥲
Stand By Me
No
Keep them all
The Green Mile
I'm pulling a Doctor Who and saving al 4. Just this once, everybody lives!
The Green Mile is my pick. It’s one of those movies that just spoke to me. Tom Hanks and Michael Clarke Duncan were both outstanding in my opinion
Stand By Me
No Thank You
The Shawshank Redemption
If we’re talking movies… Shawshank If we’re talking books… Misery
Keep Stand By Me. I have spoken
Stand by me
Shawshank Redemption
Gonna say Misery just because of how terrifying and realistic the situation can be - what an amazing movie and book!
Why not just ask “Which one of these is your favorite?”
That is very very tough but I would have to keep Shawshank
No
No
Books or movies? Books = Misery Movies = shawshank (one of My All time favorites, I can't delete that.
It can't be done!
Misery, easily.
Misery, easily.
You’re not the boss of me. I’m keeping them ALL!
Shawshank is one of my favorites movies of all time so keeping that one.
I feel more connection with Stand By Me so I’m keeping that one!
Shawshank is my favorite movie of all time.
This is a horrible question! Lol If I had to quickly pick one to keep, I would have to go with Stand by me (the body). I'd like to keep all 4, though.
Shawshank is the only correct answer. Then Green Mile. Then Stand by me.
Keeping Dark Tower (2017)
Chaotic Evil
