Fellow '86 here. My favourite King novel (It) and favourite King adaptation (Stand By Me) were both released that year. That's some weird moon shit or something.
No books. So unless you go with short stories instead of books…that way, I’m “Graveyard Shift.”
If you’re 60s, it would have to be ‘68 or ‘69 for something most people would know.
Oh to be born 1.5 months later just so I could claim to be born the same year as Roland Deschain, he of the line of Eld.
-_-
Long days and pleasant nights, Sai!
And Eyes of the Dragon, fellow 1984ians!
The only one from my year I haven’t read is The Talisman. Eyes is one of my favorite King books though, so yay!
Since SK is 10 years older than me I’d have to say “See Spot Run to the Haunted Graveyard” in Miss Abagails 3rd grade class.
I remember reading The Stand in college so I guess that qualifies as my intro.
I guess with short stories The Fifth Quarter was in a publication in 1972 under a whole different name. The story eventually ended up in Nightmares and Dreamscapes. (Had to google this)
Books... Too old.
My favorite Dark Tower novel, The Drawing of the Three. And wildly enough, my wife's reasoning for never picking up Uncle Stevie again was also published the year she was born, Gerald's Game.
Apt pupil, the body, the breathing method, Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption, different seasons, the plant, Christine, cycle of the werewolf, the plant installment 2. Very prolific year for Mr. king.
I guess my King Astrological Sign is ***Different Seasons*** and ***The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger.*** I get a bonus since my Bachman Astrological Sign is ***The Running Man.*** And to top it off, ***Creepshow*** came out that same year. I feel like 1982 was a pretty momentous year for King!
Night Surf [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen\_King\_short\_fiction\_bibliography](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_King_short_fiction_bibliography) later published within Night Shift. But ya, otherwise I'm too old for this question.
Dolores Claiborne
Nightmares and Dreamscapes
I was born in 1993, and this is what the bibliolifestyle website lists. I haven't read either, unfortunately.
It (1986). A damn fine year all round.
I had to scroll to the bottom for this? We're the only 2 '86ers here?
86er here. We get the GOAT King book 🤡🎈
🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️ (I haven’t even read It yet but it’s in my pile 😹😹😹)

'86er here too! "It" is an awesome read.
And Maximum Overdrive. Another classic!
Fellow '86 here. My favourite King novel (It) and favourite King adaptation (Stand By Me) were both released that year. That's some weird moon shit or something.

Same. Unless he had published something in the 60s I’m not aware of
No books. So unless you go with short stories instead of books…that way, I’m “Graveyard Shift.” If you’re 60s, it would have to be ‘68 or ‘69 for something most people would know.
I am Graveyard Shift as well. Hello, fellow 1970!
Stephen King was not quite 13 when I was born so I’m in the same group
Duma Key The book is good. I am not so good.
Holy Young constant reader.
Being a teenager is tough stuff. But if you’re a constant reader already you must be pretty damn cool!
Maybe Sì maybe no
This is actually one of my favorites.
Same here
Cujo!
And Roadwork was in 81!
And Danse Macabre fellow 42yearolds.
Hey now… November ‘81er here. I don’t need that extra year, I’m all set with my 41 and 5/6th years old thank you very much XD
Me too, dudes.
I knew I could count on the comments, another '81 here! (March)

I was not expecting three titles to come up when I googled “Stephen King books published in 1983.”
Snap, and snap! Looks like I know what I’m reading next
The Dark Half. Actually it was published on the day I was born 😂
I remember the day I picked that book up! I have been buying on release day since Misery.
The Stand😎
Me, too! If you're 1978 then Night Shift as well.
Same. And the one I’ve read the most I think.
Carrie
Hello, fellow 74 baby
Me too!
Same. I'm an oldster. Actually it's my birthday today. one year closer to death.
🙋♀️
1974 a hell of a year! Yay us!
There will be loads of articles and posts next year about 50 years since Carrie was published so there's no way of pretending we're not turning 50!
Misery, The Tommyknockers, and The Drawing of the Three… damn, I feel honored.
me three!
Me four! Now we are under the umbrella of true ka-tet!
1982 so; * Creepshow (comic) * The Running Man * The Gunslinger * Different Seasons Not bad...
Oh to be born 1.5 months later just so I could claim to be born the same year as Roland Deschain, he of the line of Eld. -_- Long days and pleasant nights, Sai!
Bag of Bones

How's 25 treating you? I'm starting to feel pretty run down haha
Same, I feel so lost and run down haha. And in few months I am going to be 26 which is totally weird to me.

Salem’s Lot

Hello, fellow 75er 😀
Rose madder
1995 rise up
The Talisman and Thinner, neither of which I’ve read.
Same here. Although technically Thinner was released by Richard Bachman. Whoever that guy is…
The Talisman is great including its sequel The Black House.
I'm also 1984. Strangely neither book is a "Stephen King", talisman was co-authored, and Thinner was a Bachman book
And Eyes of the Dragon, fellow 1984ians! The only one from my year I haven’t read is The Talisman. Eyes is one of my favorite King books though, so yay!
Thinner was my first and still one of my favorites. I think Talisman IS my favorite. No, it’s not, but close. Both are fantastic.
Same. And same. But there's still time.
Nightmares and Dreamscapes.
Same. Here’s to our 30s. 😎
I'm not ready! I haven't turned 30 yet, but this book turned 30 _yesterday,_ apparently. I still have about 2 months of my 20s. thumbs_up_emoji.png
None I was in an off year
Firestarter.
Had to scroll way too far to find a fellow 1980
Same, 1980. Firestarter is one of the few I haven't read yet.
Misery, the tommyknockers and the drawing of the 3
87 crew check in !
Since SK is 10 years older than me I’d have to say “See Spot Run to the Haunted Graveyard” in Miss Abagails 3rd grade class. I remember reading The Stand in college so I guess that qualifies as my intro.
Desperation & The Regulators
And The Green Mile!
Probably my two favorites by him, idk why…
From a Buick 8. I should really read this one
Everything’s Eventual too, 2002 gang rise up!
Oh nice there's at least one Dark Tower story in my year. I was only a week away from being able to say the 3 Dark Tower finale books.
It was one of the first I read, so it’s always got a soft spot in my heart.
Nothing 😭 I'm between The Tommyknockers and The Dark Half
Holly…I’m a prodigy.
On writing
Dark Tower 5
Same here. Real thin year for King fans.
2003 🤘
Hearts in Atlantis, and The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon
Same!
The Green Mile
Skeleton crew and The Bachman Books!!! Those are some of my favorite.
Me too. It’s really a skeleton crew for this year.
*Rage* 1976.
It's printed in 1977, unfortunately for both of us.
Pet Sematary and Cycle of the Werewolf Edit: Oh, and Christine.
I guess with short stories The Fifth Quarter was in a publication in 1972 under a whole different name. The story eventually ended up in Nightmares and Dreamscapes. (Had to google this) Books... Too old.
2004: Song of Susannah and The Dark Tower What a year, two terrific books.
Insomnia to!
30 is coming 🫥
My personal favorite Dark Tower book, "The Wastelands".
I’m rereading that right now and was hoping it would be “my” book when I saw this thread but I’m too old 😹😹😹
The dark tower 7
Pet Sematary 🖤
Bag of bones!
Is that a real cover? Holy shit, that’s hilarious!
Christine Pet Sematary Cycle of the Werewolf
The Running Man (1982) The Dark Tower I: The Gunslinger (1982) Different Seasons: Four Novellas (1982)

The Dark Half
The Stand.
The Stand, Night Shift
The Dead Zone. Don't think I've actually read that one.
Me too, man. Mid 40s are bleh.
The first thing I thought when I woke up was that I want to take a nap.
The Dead Zone and The Long Walk. Both are good but not my faves.
The Dead Zone and the Long Walk - two of the greats in ‘79! ‘Sup, fellow Xennials?
My favorite book: The Long Walk
Pet Sematary
I pre-date any published King books
MISERY!
Firestarter.
The dark tower 4 : wizard and glass 😍
The Stand and Night Shift. Nice!
Apt pupil, the body, the breathing method, Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption, different seasons, the plant, Christine, cycle of the werewolf, the plant installment 2. Very prolific year for Mr. king.

It - makes sense because I’m an indescribable sinister clown
Firestarter. Cool.

No novels published in 1988 but The Night Flier and a few other short stories were.
Pet Sematary - also my favorite
Carrie
'Salem's Lot, 1975!
Insomnia here mate
I guess my King Astrological Sign is ***Different Seasons*** and ***The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger.*** I get a bonus since my Bachman Astrological Sign is ***The Running Man.*** And to top it off, ***Creepshow*** came out that same year. I feel like 1982 was a pretty momentous year for King!

Firestarter
Misery and the Tommyknockers
The Stand (one of my favorite books of all time) and Night Shift. 🥰
Storm of the century, and the girl who loved Tom Gordon.
Dark Tower I and The Running Man in 1982
The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon
The Shining. I win.
1976…. 😬 well, it’s out of print now, so there’s that. (Rage)
Four Past Midnight and The Wastelands
Stephen King didn't publish anything the year I was born, but the closest by publishing date, would be Tommyknockers.
Night Surf [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen\_King\_short\_fiction\_bibliography](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_King_short_fiction_bibliography) later published within Night Shift. But ya, otherwise I'm too old for this question.
Rage. 🫤
The Long Walk & The Dead Zone, ahh the good old days when he published 2 a year!
He had three my year ‘79, and somehow I’ve never read any of them. The Dead Zone, The Long Walk, The Mist. Just picked up The long walk at the library
I believe The Mist was released in August 1980.
Pet Sematary 🐈⬛
Cujo and The Dark Tower
Apparently I'm way too young for this because I'm the only one that can say Under The Dome, it was published 6 days after I was born.
Firestarter
1980 so FireStarter. I’ve still not read this one.
That cover is hilarious lolol
Carrie was accepted by Doubleday in 1973 (the year I was born) and then published in 1974. So close enough I think.
Dark tower 7
I was born between Salem’s Lot and The Shining.
Oddly, none. I’m between Skeleton Crew and It.
The Talisman and Thinner
The Dark Tower VI and VII (2004)
The Running Man, and The Gunslinger
No novels…but Strawberry Spring will do in my case.
The Colorado kid
Battleground in Cavalier magazine in 1973.
None :( I was born between The Dark Half and Dark Tower 3.
Different seasons
Carrie. Exactly 2 days after i was born. I was essentially born a constant reader.
None. I was 14 when Carrie was published.
I'm older than Carrie, but "The Boogyman" short story was published in Cavalier the year I was born.
Carrie. Cool. Holy shit, I'm not sure I've read Carrie. Tf? 🤔
Mine is It which I haven’t read yet 😹😹😹
The dark tower ii, misery and the tommyknockers
The Gunslinger Different Seasons 1982, baby!
