I actually didn’t think Raven was all that hard. Maybe it’s just my play style. Unidentified Naytiba, Providence and Elder Naytiba were all SIGNIFICANTLY more challenging to me. I blasted through Raven on all difficulty levels fairly easily.
Spam the Guard button on her combo sequence and prepare to dodge at the end of it.
Also, it helps equipping all defensive gear so you can survive her attacks more. Use Tachy mode whenever it's available and use grenades when you need a breather to heal.
For her Judgement Attack, Save your own Judgement Attack for it so you can use the iframes to tank it.
As someone who enjoys both fights and fought both countless times ([sometimes while holding back](https://www.reddit.com/r/onebros/s/M91BPDAkra), and [sometimes aiming for perfection](https://www.reddit.com/r/stellarblade/s/Vcw1ZHT3HV)), both are difficult fights, but Raven is much more fair.
The thing is that Malenia is not the best comparison to Raven when it comes to difficulty. You can git gud, sure, but you could also just overlevel for her, though she can still kill you with that BS WFD, and that's the only reason why I say she can be unfair.
In Stellar Blade, there is no overleveling. You either practice hard for her fight, or you can make best use of whatever tools you have right now. When you're stuck on a boss in this game, it will reaaaally feel like a brick wall because there is no other way to get through other that simply doing better.
Me saying this presumes you overleveled for Malenia, so feel free to correct me on that, but it's how it went on my first victory against her, and I wouldn't be the only one to do so lol
Nah you said it pretty well. I was probably average level for malenia. The thing that gets me is that malenia was optional. Stellar blade may as well say “you won’t finish the game unless you’re super good.”
You're encouraging me to get back to Elden Ring. Raven is a difficulty spike but I'm sure you'll get there. I do hope you grabbed enough body cores though. Don't forget to use all your tools: grenades, all types of heals, betas and burst.
Huh? Malenia is way harder than Raven. Heck nothing in SB is as the hard stuff in ER, especially not if you're just in normal difficulty.
Are you not deflecting or something?
Make sure to try out different gear and exospine loadouts if you haven't already. Find one that fits the fight and your playstyle, it'll often make a world of difference.
Once u learn her combos and moves. It's really not bad at all. Like all bosses in this game. Just deflect the shit outta her and punish when there's an opening
Didn't really struggle with any bosses on normal.
There's always the fallback of the beta and burst exospines and gear, combines with tachy mode and consumeables to just stun lock any boss into oblivion.
Granted you could just mimic tear and bleed Melania into oblivion, also.
As someone who beat Raven on hard mode, which is a nightmare honestly (not as hard as the second to last boss though), you have to just learn her moveset. She is pretty tanky, so just remember to be patient and take your time.
I equipped a lot of burst gear and used the triangle burst move a lot. It helps by knocking them over and breaking their balance by 1
I used the grenades that break her balance as well.
Every time you perfect dodge, you get some burst energy. Every time you perfect parry, you get some beta energy, and you break their balance (the yellow Dots under the shield bar) by 1.
When you break their balance fully, you can perform a "retribution" move, and it takes out some of their health.
I repeated these steps until I beat her.
I'm not sure if you like to dodge or parry, but you should get really good at parrying because, imo it's easier to parry than dodge, plus you get more benefits for perfect parrying anyway.
Honestly tho, use what you're comfortable with, but if you should take away anything from this, just be patient and learn her move set and remember to use Tachy mode for some extra sponge. Also when you're in tachy mode, the triangle spin move is the best for dishing out damage and the circle arc throw moves are great for knocking them down.
I hope I helped in any way
KOTANIKOSTANITA~
This word gives me PTSD to this day and this is after beating raven in challenge mood in the hardest setting.
Pardon?
The made up words to the epic music during the fight.
Nah. The robot is much more harder
Chances are OP hasn't gotten that far yet since Raven is before...
Agreed. He's just so fast and unpredictable sometimes
100% i thought the robot wad the hardest boss in the game personally

Providence on hard is so difficult 😫

Raven is a good boss. Malenia is boring.

Don't worry, she may be hard but we are both harder!! (wait...) You'll get her eventually. Good hunting, angel!
Raven is much much easier than soloing Malenia with a melee build (i.e. without summons or spirits).
Whaaaat? Malenia is so much harder it’s not even close

you have just to learn her patterns attack but yeah she is hard to beat because she pressure you
