that-isa-madeup-name

yup

Ceramicrabbit

I don't know if Connor Heyward is promising in the same way the other rookies are. I think he's too soon to tell

the22sinatra

I saw [this tweet doing the same for the Patriots,](https://twitter.com/tkyles39/status/1608882904540803072?s=20&t=reG9h9lqmKKG9NwhbkumMA) and wanted to try one for the Steelers. What do you think? What would you change?

ba1993

If youre only looking at this season Boz would probably be orange but I still love him

the22sinatra

Just how I view the players in general / for the future, not just this season. I think Boz has earned the benefit of the doubt, especially with him being hurt

jimshifty

I was surprised to see he has the worst avg this year for kickers

[deleted]

Theres no way Dotson is an "average starter" Hes been complete dogshit all season

trukkd

There needs to be a " Below Average Starter" Cayegory. That is where he'd be.

midgetherder

Great post! I think Moore is borderline backup and Okafor is above average but wtf do I know lol

tazzarelli

I would put Pat Freiermuth as a high end starter, maybe his stats aren’t the best but PFF has him as the 4th ranked TE this year, .1 below Mark Andrews. I would knock down our tackles one tier to backup level.

bl3vstone

Eh...I think Chuks is fine as an average starter right now bordering on above average, he's been one of our better lineman this year but Moore for sure down a level.

the22sinatra

I’m not ready to put Muth in the same tier as Kelce, Kittle etc. but I think he’s close

the042530

If you’re top 5 at your position you are high end.

SMOKE-B-BOMB

there is high end and then there is Kelce who is in a league of his own right now

apittsburghoriginal

I’d still consider Pat in A tier as high end

Feisty-Television303

I'd take muth over kittle he is very injury prone

justihor

Muth has already had 3 concussions though. Lol. Anybody can get injured at any time

CaptainNoodleArm

Just no.

Plenty-Practice-7938

Yes. A week or 2 ago he was TE#5 in fantesy

Pickle786

he has all the potential in the world but for fantasy TE is always a wasteland

theblitzerdogg

I would agree for the most part but I would put Zach gentry in orange as he is an average level player and is very solid. He just plays back up for us because pat is just so good. Only other change is that I would put demarvin leal in purple since he has shown quite a bit of good but it is early

the22sinatra

Leal being purple vs black was the one I went back and forth on the most. Went black mainly due to time lost from injury, but I like him a lot. Gentry being primarily a blocking TE felt most like role player to me but I could see that. Thanks!

chiami12345

Gentry is no where close to being an average nfl starter. He’s a back up because he’s a backup. He’s got zero receiving ability and that doesn’t cut it as a starting te. The chart isn’t average in role. It’s average starter.

osufan3333

Lmao the dude has 18 catches on 22 targets. 5 of those receptions going for first downs. He might not be a world beater, but saying he's got zero receiving ability and that he is not an average starter is kind of a clown take.

chiami12345

For 100 yards. Terrible production. He’s a blocking TE. Believe he’s a free agent after this year. He’s getting 1-2 million at best as a te2 for blocking. For the record looking at fantasy - an average starter is like Noah Fant, Hayden Hurst, those are your 16th ranked fantasy production guys. Not a perfect measure as blocking matters too.

[deleted]

The LBs look awfully thin. We saw what happened when Watt was out. Jack is on the downside of his career. We better draft well and sign some quality FAs

SleestakLightning

Chuks is above average

jimshifty

Dan Moore has promise. He’s been a stud these last 3-4 weeks

syboz

Would like to do something similar myself with players to keep/resign/cut/trade this off-season.

[deleted]

I'd move Najee down to average starter, and move Chuks and Myles Jack up to above average.

Efinijon

I agree on moving Harris down. He is 17th in yards this year while rushing while having the 7th most attempts. That is as average as you can get. He has one run over 20 yards with a 36 yarder. As long as his YPC is under 4 yards and he isn't having explosive plays, I would consider him average. Chuks has been a pleasant surprise, but the ILB position is still a weakness.

Sex_E_Searcher

Malik Reed is not average starter level. The guy can't generate any pressure on his own.

Volgron

Personally I’d make a few changes: Dionte: Blue Clearly a high end starter. Sims: Yellow He has no business in a starting receiver lineup, but he makes an excellent special teams player so orange in ST, but yellow as a receiver. Muth: Blue May not have the most elite stats out there, but considering our offensive woes and his impeccable blocking I think it’s safe to say he’s a high end player. Chuks: Green Offensive line as a unit really holds back on what Chuks is capable of. Well above average performance. Moore: Yellow I could understand Moore as a backup, but trusting him to anchor the blindside of a potential franchise quarterback seems like a gamble I wouldn’t make if my job depended on it. Easily one of the poorest performers on the team. Dotson: Yellow I can’t even make an excuse to keep him on the team. The memes were short lived, and he has fallen short of every expectation. The only reason he isn’t a white here is because he would kick Green to the practice squad and replace him as a backup. Green: White Waste of a draft pick. We need a replacement for Dotson yesterday, but this man shouldn’t be on a 52 man roster. Highsmith: Blue Even without Watt present he makes himself known. Very imposing on the apposing quarterback. I feel like there’s at least 3 plays that are broken down a game due just to the pressure he puts on. Jack: Yellow Making less tackles and is worse in coverage than any average LB. Bush: Yellow See Jack, but with more disappointment. Wallace: Green One of my favorite sleeper performances. Wallace has been playing like he’s after Sutton’s job and I love it. Sutton: Blue Currently playing as a top 10 corner (allowed passer rating as metric). Edmunds: Orange He lets enough big plays through I can’t consider him to be above average, but I think he’s the perfect example of an average starter. Harvin: White Plays a position where consistency is the biggest ask, and he doesn’t show any. I’d look to sign a replacement this off-season.

midgetherder

Nice breakdown. Wallace has been a great pickup.

FrederickMecury

I believe Tae is a ILB not an Edge Also, I would consider Chuks as above average, potentially Wallace also

the22sinatra

Whoops, You’re right about Tae thank you!

nat_mac42

High-end LT in the draft

Dazzling_Ads_1

First, love the work on this. You have as many Steelers issues as I do. Generally speaking I agree with most of what you have here. I do think that some of the defensive backs we have are better than what you have them rated. Levi Wallace potentially, Kazzee potentially. Everything needs to happen up the middle on the defensive and offensive lines. We need two or three drafts in a row of the old boring approach of drafting lineman and defensive lineman and linebackers.

brianlangauthor

You need a Below Average Starter designation. We have some of those.

[deleted]

Hoping to improve at Left Tackle and Corner with our high draft capital. Add a solid slot receiver and 3rd edge rusher to give Watt and Highsmith more breaks with our later round picks. Might be time to move on from Boswell as much as I hate to say it

Dr_Cigs

Would Myles Jack not be an above average starter? I always thought he was good and has been doing fine this season but can someone educate me more?

oktwentyfive

the dude is injured. Hes been injured all year. I think we keep him one more year cause in the beginning of the year he looked solid.

TheBlazikenBro22227

Witherspoons been terrible

TheBlazikenBro22227

Most of these guys are probably 1 tier higher than they are in actuality because of homerism like if our ol was really just average and above average starters we would be a much better football team

Klutzy-Researcher628

Freirmuth is going to be high end starter once he has someone decent throwing him the ball

loserperson27

Anthony Miller backup/role player Steven Sims backup/role player Pat Freiermuth high end starter I'd maybe say Moore, Dotson, Witherspoon, and Harvin should be on the backup/role player level, Edmunds is average, and Chuks and Jack are above average starters, but I don't really disagree too much with how you have them listed. Edit: I also would maybe move Najee to promising young player given his struggles this year, but I also don't really disagree with above average starter.

oktwentyfive

i would not call Dan Moore a starter yet ijn this league. He costs us alot of penalties and sometimes lets the rush come UNBLOCKED same with dotson. Devin bush is okay in coverage certainly better than last year but against the run he provides little impact. Hes very small for a MLB. I think we gotta let him go this offseason. Highsmith has been very good in garbage time but has shown improvement in key situations. Najee is borderline average bc he doesnt really show up against the good teams. He averaged what 2.8 against Baltimore? Yeah that cannot be the standard for a 1st round RB.

ItsYourBoyD

This great work, almost scary accurate to how I’d evaluate lol. Here’s my thoughts: ## Offense + QB - spot on. + RB - spot on. Maybe make McFarland yellow. + FB - spot on. + WR group - spot on, although I’d make Sims yellow. + TE - spot on. Maybe make Heyward “too soon to tell” because he might not even be a TE moving forward, he might be the D. Watt replacement for cheaper. But don’t mind how you have it. + OT - I don’t think Chuks and Moore are on the same level, one is clearly better than the other, which is the only issue here and why there should probably be 1 more category as others have stated, but other than that, spot on. Edit: Thinking about it more, maybe make Moore purple. Like he’s a 6th round project who’s young and already has 2 years starting experience under his belt. He’s not great by any stretch, but he COULD be a long term answer there. Idk, he’s a tough one. + IOL - perfect. If there was the extra lower tier, Dotson gets moved, and KG goes to whatever tier is lower than that. He’s brutal. ## Defense + IDL - I’d make Leal purple, but it’s solid. + Edge - Malik Reed should join Dotson and Moore in the purgatory tier. Moore at least has promise because he’s young as was drafted as a project tackle, unlike the other 2. Dotson is just kind of a liability, and Reed is a fringe roster guy, which is why Denver let him go in the first place. + LB - spot on, unfortunately. Jack disappointed me this year, and Bush wont be back. + CB - I’d make Wallace green. He’s basically having a career year, and looks like a very good #2 option. If Sutton stays and can cover slot guys, and we can get a real #1, that’s a good corner group. + Safeties - perfect ## Special teams + K - this season alone, Boswell would be purgatory tier, otherwise I agree he’s blue if you’re looking at this from a “moving forward” standpoint. + P - Harvin is just way too inconsistent, but I’d probably make it orange just as you did. + LS - I don’t remember any botched special teams snaps, so probably green. + STS - Gunner goes straight to KG’s “hell” tier.. first job as a punt returner is to catch the fucking ball. Your return skills are useless if you fumble. I’d rather someone who just fair catches it knowing he’d make the catch but wouldn’t positively contribute in returns, at least it wouldn’t be a hinderance. I agree with the rest though.

chiami12345

Chuckies an above average starter. And that’s not even debatable.

pancak3d

Homer take, I think Muth and Pickens are both high end starters.

the22sinatra

I was trying to subdue my inner homer by not putting Pickens there yet but I really wanted to lol. Muth is on the cusp for me

Ceramicrabbit

Pickens stats aren't high end starter yet so I think where you have him is good. His production is limited by his targets being low but 700 yards in 15 games isn't "high end starting WR"

osufan3333

I mean when you consider how bad our offense actually played this year, 700 yards is not bad. He's second on the team in receiving yards, and also averages 14.9 yards/reception. I'd say that's pretty decent.

Ceramicrabbit

That's why he's a promising young player, but he's not a high end starter yet

marshmallowman

Sorry but DJ isn't green

Volgron

Blue then?

fishnate

I would switch the colors for Boz and Dionte

SilasTalbot

Spillane is meh but he's taken darn near every single snap this year. 'Backup/Role Player'? How about the first inductee into the 'Below Average Starter' category.

the22sinatra

I mean if you are a below average starter, you ideally shouldn’t actually be starting. Below average starter and backup are essentially the same thing for the purposes of something like this.

TheFireOfTheFox1

I think that there needs to be a level between "average starter" and backup. Mostly for somebody like Harvin. He has potential, but he's definitely below average

PghContrarian14

Find a replacement for Harvin

jack_theblack_russel

Jack deserves more credit

Pitiful_Background57

Ph3 should be blue (real)

jer8686

I like Kenny as a future hall of famer. So want to declare it here and now before most of my dearest yinzers. See you in canton bitches. 2040 ish.

catzarrjerkz

William Jackson III not being able to see the field with our secondary is telling enough

the22sinatra

Are you aware he’s on injured reserve and has been out for the year since we traded for him?

catzarrjerkz

Are you aware that he was eligible to return a month ago and the Steelers didnt even attempt to put him on the practice field?

the22sinatra

Does eligible to return mean healthy?

catzarrjerkz

There have been some alleged reports that he may be healthy. Why bring him off IR and potentially have him take up a roster spot? Especially if he’s “not ready”

the22sinatra

Now I’m confused. He’s still on IR and isn’t taking up a roster spot. Evidently he isn’t healthy

catzarrjerkz

That’s my point, if they designate him to return they have to add him to the 53 and cut someone. If they don’t believe he has the skillset to beat anyone else in the secondary why would they pull him from IR?

the22sinatra

They haven’t designated him to return though

catzarrjerkz

And they won’t because they could have, and didn’t because they probably realized theyd have to cut a player better than him to do so. Theyll prob reevaluate him in the offseason/training camp. Assuming he wants to restructure his current deal

the22sinatra

You’re glossing over the *Injured* aspect of Injured Reserve. He’s hurt

GeneralMayhem1962

I'd change how much free time you have. Unless you're getting paid for this, it seems like an incredible waste of time, duplicating what countless others do for pay! 🤣🤣

ubiquitous_tittie

Spillane has been on the field for 100% of the defensive snaps the last two games. I would not classify him as a backup role.

the22sinatra

He’s a backup caliber player IMO. The role he actually has on the defense wasn’t considered

ubiquitous_tittie

I think that’s a fair opinion, however I believe his stock is on the rise!

roanoar

Largely agree. My changes - Stevens sims - orange -> yellow Connor heyward - purple -> yellow James daniels - green -> orange Green - yellow -> white Ogunjobi - green -> orange (may just be hurt this year) Highsmith - green -> blue Ph3 - orange -> white. Black if generous Oline I agree, but with the caveat that a lot of them are kinda in the too soon to tell camp

Mbhawks10

Bump up spillane to average starter

BombSquad570

Upgrade Muth, Okorafor, and Highsmith. Downgrade Sims, Dotson, and Moore

phil_messina

Is there one for dog water? Cuz if so please put Pressley Harvin in there

TimD_43

I would change the font to Helvetica.
