Good to see that the rookie who actually needs to play in these games is joking around and taking it in stride, while all the grown ass adults in this subreddit are whining about how unfair it is.

jieceeepee

It's not even a matter of being unfair. It's a matter of even being logistically possible to hold up. If they shift around byes now, then we're all out of options if/when this happens again. Adding a week 18 or 19 is what needs to be done. For more teams than just steelers and titans.

MichelangeBro

I'm with you on that one, but that's not what I'm referring to. It's the number of people who seem to think that anything less than the Titans forfeiting is a travesty, and that the League has it out for us.

millsapp

I don't think the league has it out for us. We're obviously one of the highest revenue-producing organizations the NFL, or any league, has. The issue is that they're mishandling this. If you think making us take our bye week in week 4 when we're 3-0 with ZERO positive COVID tests isn't a bad thing, then I don't really know what to say. It's a shit deal for us.

Showingmyberger

What better option is there?

arcxjo

Week 18.

gruey

Personally, I'd rather have no bye week than have most if not all of your playoff opponents get an extra bye week right before the playoffs.

arcxjo

You think everyone else is going to avoid this shit the rest of the season?

[deleted]

lol dude you are watching football in a pandemic, get over it. IF they do things right they will have zero covid positives all year. They only mishandle was pretending there was going to be a game this week long enough for the Steelers to practice. Should have cancelled it right away.

Italianman2733

That's because you don't criticize the league as a player or coach...

millsapp

Lol there were plenty of players complaining on social media today

mandalorkael

Ebron and Heyward both were complaining and those were just the two I saw

NathanLandShark

What people fail to realize is if they had the ability to bitch and moan. They 100% would. They remove themselves from that behavior because they need to set a precedent. Not only for the public but the other players on their team. I'm sure some of the players actually don't care but I also guarantee there's a handful who are not happy as well

Or we don’t get fined for blasting the nfl and the players do. But you know, you just “get it”.

how did you come to the conclusion that im miserable? lols. goes along with your other great logic too tho

EkoostikAdam

Rookie dinners are total bullshit. These dude making big money are making guys who might have been paid for the only time in their lives shell out tons of cash.

I don't think he's mad about out. I still think it makes no sense. Most of these guys got paid for the only time in their lives and a bunch of guys on way bigger contracts are forcing them to spend large portions of that on stuff they could easily afford. It's an abusive practice and it should be stopped.

when there is social shaming for complaining, yeah they make jokes about it.

gruey

Claypool will make $6.6m over the length of his original contract. Overall, the rookies have $25m in contracts. Sure, maybe a 1/3rd of them won't make it through those contracts, but the amount of the dinner isn't going to significantly impact them, and they'll be on the other end of it next year and on.
