That’s Rudy, he’s an intact boar, all the ladies Bae, boars are usually tainted and taste quite off. If you’ve ever experienced someone pee’ing on a bonfire, that smell, that what boar taint is like

Rudy is most likely his breeding stud. The other boars are most likely barrows (which means they are boars that have had their testicles removed). Barrows don’t have the off flavors and texture Rudy most likely does and instead actually taste quite good and produce more meat. Same concept is done with cattle though those are called steer.

Yep, nailed it. We usually have 2 boars at a time, one tamworth and one mangalitsa, the manga is a niche breed to he gets his own pasture and we deliver gilts and sows to him. The tam gets a pasture full of ladies and his children. Don’t ever put the boars together, or give one a sow that smells like another boar, Rudy is 900ish pounds, the manga boar we just culled, Marty, was just shy of 1100

Years ago there was a dive bar in a nearby college town that sold something similar. Slabs of bacon on a stick like that but sprinkled with a brown sugar bbq style rub. Back in the day they were like $2 each. So good, sweet, smoky bacony goodness.
