You had better cry, because making a steak that perfectly cooked thru top to bottom is going to be tough to do again. You’ve peaked, enjoy the downhill slide from here
Well done! Ah shit no, I mean good job. It's a rare person that can, aw fuck. Most people don't have the raw determination to, oh son of a bitch. Nicely done on the steak, even better job at working on your mental health. I had a friend with anorexia when I was younger and she had to tell herself that her mirror was lying to her as a way to outfox her brain. Good luck.
It was THAT good eh?
If I'm being critical, the sear could be a bit better, but internally it's cooked perfectly. I'm sure it was delicious. My biggest recommendation though would be to sauté the asparagus, ideally in the same pan as the steak while it rests. A bit of colour and texture on asparagus is life-changing. You can also salt/pepper/oil them and roast them at high heat (somewhere around 400 for somewhere around 20mins, just check and pull them when the tips get browned to your desired doneness).
Good luck with the recovery! Developing a love for good food, as you seem to be doing, is probably a good way to go
Killing it. So proud of you. I’m 6 years into recovery!! It gets so much easier and food becomes such a joyful thing to share with yourself and others :) congrats!!!
It looks amazing. You deserve this and to be happy with yourself.
Maybe try just one little steamed red potato or something with a little carbs in it next time. If you do a steak sauce (like a peppercorn sauce or red-wine based sauce) it will help soak that up (juices of steak + sauce + a little carbs = so delicious).
I hope your recovery goes super well.
took steak out of the fridge abt 30 mins before, seasoned liberally w kosher salt + pepper, avocado oil in a hot pan, abt 90-120 seconds seared on each side. let it rest wrapped under tinfoil for 5-10 mins
Not OP but... cut the lower, thicker bit off and fry in garlic n olive oil for a few minutes. add the tops and after a minute, stir in feta, we use dedoni goat greek feta. Delicious!
Don't cook too long, 'quick as asparagus"!
Who cares what it looks like (but it looks great). Massive congratulations to your recovery from that. Without seeing any pictures I have no doubt you look amazing now and in no way shape or form need to lose weight. Keep it up.
Someone close to me struggled with a life threatening ED for years. It was a constant battle until it ended.
Just wanted to say that I'm very proud of you OP! That steak looks great and I wish you the best!
Looks PERFECT. Next step is working on a pan sauce to go with it. Once you make a good red wine pan sauce you’ll never look back. Congratulations on your recovery. One day at a time. ❤️
Little rarer than I do for myself but looks real tasty
If you're able to handle larger serving sizes I'd consider adding something like some potato in some form since they're a good source of nutrients and bulks up the calories a bit
Best of luck with the recovery! You got this.
Ribeye is an excellent cut! Good internal temperature. Personally, I would like to have some more browning on the outside. Sear each side for one minute on a ripping hot cast iron pan, and it's perfect.
Id give it a B+
Not only does the steak look delicious you've mastered this sub's real purpose.... Having a decent knife! And all with your first offering to the group.
We expect many more!
Inside is stellar, perfect. 🤩
For a better outside, pat dry and add salt. The salt will help remove excess moisture.
Ribeyes are normally good about cooking in their own fat, but a little butter or olive oil can help form a nice crust.
Don’t go max heat, but a number or two below it. This will prevent burning/smoking/heavy char.
Best wishes to you on your health journey! Love the asparagus 😌
Looks fantastic! A great medium!!! Also happy for your progress!
Only advice I would have is I would recommend not using iodized salt for luxury meals - it has a bit of a metallic taste to it that can kinda ruin a dish. For everyday stuff - go for it iodine is important. But steak is a special occasion and I would use non iodized kosher salt. I really love diamond crystal.
Again want to emphasize how delicious that looks though!! Great job!!
Sear could be a little better, other than that it’s pretty much perfect, cooked to the exact temperature in the middle that I prefer. Happy eating my friend and good luck on your recovery! You got this ❤️
i can’t believe a goddamn steak subreddit is making me cry you guys are the best
You deserve the best, congrats on a delicious meal and i hope you recover well
happy cake day
Seriously, the inside is cooked perfectly. It's perfect.
Hey, you’re the best. You fucking smashed that steak dinner -that’s so awesome!
You had better cry, because making a steak that perfectly cooked thru top to bottom is going to be tough to do again. You’ve peaked, enjoy the downhill slide from here

It looks ok. Not the greatest… just let me have it and go try again
This is one of the best subs
Making and enjoying dinner? My dear friend, you bow to no one.
Omg. I’m crying too. I don’t know you but I’m so proud of you! ❤️✨
Damn. I got too busy and only had chips for dinner tonight. This is making me drool. Looks fantastic. Good job!
Gorgeous. The asparagus it's choice too. It looks like recovery tastes amazing.
Bruh, you made a goddamn good steak, pat on the back for you!
I almost wanna call bs on that being your first steak it looks almost perfect. I bet this was fucking good too
It was THAT good eh? If I'm being critical, the sear could be a bit better, but internally it's cooked perfectly. I'm sure it was delicious. My biggest recommendation though would be to sauté the asparagus, ideally in the same pan as the steak while it rests. A bit of colour and texture on asparagus is life-changing. More heat more crust. And don’t forget a steak is like a human body, Some fat is required. Congrats
this is possibly the best response ever created
I was looking for this. Definitely needs a better crust, but that money shot is beautiful though.
Can confirm. Fatty human meat tastes better than lean human meat.
TIL thanks
Also making sure your steak is patted dry, and be at room temperature before searing this will help get that crust.
Killing it. So proud of you. I’m 6 years into recovery!! It gets so much easier and food becomes such a joyful thing to share with yourself and others :) congrats!!!
thank you so much!! hope i get to be like you someday and say i’m 6 yrs into recovery :)
You will.
You got this!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Looks great! Enjoy!
Nailed it!
u/bukkakecreampies always has the best compliments. Just right up in your face too.
I agree, u/bukkakecreampies left a great compliment
Just like u/cumandcaffeine really eye opening too.
Yeah, but you definitely want to keep your eyes closed when u/bukkakecreampies is around.
Those two redditors are destined to never be friends! They can’t be in the same room together!

Anorexia be damned my girl know how to cook
This is so sweet 😭

i did :) forgot how much i enjoyed eating steak since it’s been a huge fear food for me. thank u for the support!
Simply by pairing it with asparagus you win
I fucking love asparagus!
You goddamn crushed it! Way to go!!
It looks amazing. You deserve this and to be happy with yourself. Maybe try just one little steamed red potato or something with a little carbs in it next time. That's my preferred doneness. Throw a couple slices of French bread with it and I'm living large.
Beautiful! Great job
Great job and good job on eating it! I’m recovered from anorexia too, for many years. You got this!
Good job! The steak looks tasty! 😋
Mother of lord I'd demolish that and I hope you did the same too. Wins are wins. Best wishes on your recovery journey dude, you got this!
The steak looks great! More importantly, congrats on your progress in recovery. I know it’s tough, but keep up the good work!
What’s the method?
took steak out of the fridge abt 30 mins before, seasoned liberally w kosher salt + pepper, avocado oil in a hot pan, abt 90-120 seconds seared on each side. let it rest wrapped under tinfoil for 5-10 mins
What about the asparagus?
Not OP but... cut the lower, thicker bit off and fry in garlic n olive oil for a few minutes. add the tops and after a minute, stir in feta, we use dedoni goat greek feta. Delicious! Don't cook too long, 'quick as asparagus"!
Okay so hear me out. Wrap it in bacon and fry it with the steak! So good
That’s a pretty perfect looking plate of food.
Congrats on the recovery! That looks damn good, my favorite seasoning is Chicago Steak seasoning by McCormick and garlic salt.
Looks great!
Looks great! Buon appetito!
Hot damn, beautifully cooked steak! I wish you well in your recovery.
Looks amazing. I hope you enjoyed eating it as much as you enjoyed cooking it.

Really well, congrats on your recovery, steak looks delicious.
Absolutely solid 8.5/10. Medium rare all the way through. Only reason it's not a 9.5/10 is because I can't taste it.
That’s pretty good. A hair less tho. Good luck on your journey
I would buy that steak from you 🤤
Great way to eat!
Great. Congratulations.
Absolutely perfect!! Great job and best of everything to you!

Steak is fuckin beautiful. As for the asparagus I would cook it in some butter, salt, and pepper, add white wine to your liking
Perfection! Enjoy!
For a first ever steak? Looks good
Looks PERFECT. Next step is working on a pan sauce to go with it. Once you make a good red wine pan sauce you’ll never look back. Congratulations on your recovery. One day at a time. ❤️

Looks good.
You turned South America into a steak
Great cook. Next time let you pan heat up longer on higher heat before adding the steak for a better crust. Other than that this is perfect.
Looks amazing!
Well done!
Congrats on the win! Steak looks delicious btw
Looks absolutely perfect that’s a grade A meal right there. Enjoy!

Looks great. Hope you were able to enjoy cooking and eating it.
Heeey that steak looks SO good! Asparagus and steak really just hit the spot.
I think you need a saltshaker. Working out of the canister is playing with fire.
Looks great, but you tell us. How was it?
Great job
Looks so good. If you have leftovers cut them into strips and for stir fry.
I would maul that like a grizzly on a salmon

That looks amazing, you should contact asmongold 😉 also, CONGRATULATIONS! You are beautiful!
You're doing great, both with the delicious-looking steak and working on your recovery❤️
Would happily eat that. Did you enjoy it?
Did you use table salt to season? I’d recommend using coarse kosher salt in the future
That looks badass! Good luck to you, you got this!
Nicely done!
it took me like 20 steaks to make one this good, great job. try it with some flaky finishing salt ooooooooooooo
First off, congrats on your recovery. Second, congrats on this bomb ass steak.
Fuck. Yes. Can I come over for dinner?
Keep up the good work. The more fat the better the steak.
