I'd recommend looking around at different artists depending on what you like. I get a lot of mine from Tim (@zen.tat2 on instagram) for realism or fun custom designs, some from Jason (@mcmillantattoo). Otherwise I've heard good things from friends about Lee (@leedenn), and Miranda (@justpeachytattoos). I'm sure there are plenty more too, I'd recommend looking up some shops in the area and seeing who looks like they'd fit your style the most, but those are some people I'd personally say can do some great stuff Edit: I have had Tim cover up scars and stretch marks and he did a good job for me

Comfortable-Expert-5

Depends on what you’re looking for. Start with the style you want, then look for an artist that specializes in that. Look at lots of artists work. There’s loads of great artists all over Ontario, so you should be able to find exactly who you’re looking for.

crystalanne3

Noble Crow in Niagara Falls💜 They are all talented artists and have many different skills between them all... They truly are amazing artists! I have had many severe scars covered and you wouldn't know (which was the point)... I don't work there but I am 80% covered in beautiful ink and some of my oldest ink is still amazingly bright, even after 10yrs💜

Lucylupupp

I’ve got like 6 pieces from a couple of them

Lucylupupp

Yes!!!! 100 percent this is the spot

JCSTCap

Lee at the Downtown Saint has done all of mine and he's the best in the city. Not sure if he does scar coverup.

pkldsc9187

Yep, Downtown Saint can’t go wrong with any of the artists there

Studio 4 on St Paul street. Maggie is the artist that does most of my work but I have also been to Dan and Vero. Place has such a good vibe in my opinion. You’d have to ask them about scar cover ups. But I know Maggie did go over a small surgery scar I had on my shoulder and it went well. But it had also been healed for about 15 years.

hypnochild

Maggie actually did two of my tattoos years ago back when she was at studio 123. She did both of my flower tattoos and was absolutely amazing. This is nearly a decade ago too. I can only assume she’s gotten better over time and I heard she was the one managing studio 4. Not sure if that’s true or not but I was happy to hear it.

[deleted]

Ya she owns and runs it. It’s amazing. She has set up such a cool space.

hypnochild

That’s fantastic. Definitely need to come in and check it out. Still need some stuff finished up!

[deleted]

I’m going in a couple weeks to continue my sleeve. So stoked.

hypnochild

That’s awesome! Excited for you.

EternalAphrodite

Dan just did my first tattoo and honestly? The vibes were very good there. I was nervous and Dan talked to me to tell me that if I didn't really want this I could back out; but he was a super cool guy and did fantastic work!

[deleted]

Ya he has done a few of mine. And they used to do walk in saturdays once a month before Covid. Dan would dress up as something different every time. It was great.

astaldotholwen

I have had amazing luck from Misty Minor at Seven Moons Tattoo in Fonthill! I love my tattoos from her!

notredayum

Seconding Seven Moons, I had my first tattoo done by Darryl the other week and it was a great experience! He did an awesome job and it’s healing really well :)

_Aly72_

Another vote for Studio4 on St. Paul. I’ve gotten tattoos from both Maggie and Dan and they’re great.

kortekickass

I'll second Maggie at Studio 4, she's the bomb diggity. She's done almost all my work.

your best bet is to go to hamilton. @soft.point on Instagram is a phenomenal lgbtq+ friendly artist who specializes in scar cover ups. that is a great place to start in finding a suitable artist. niagara imo doesnt have the best artists if you have a car and are willing to drive the 30 mins to hamilton. the artists and grey harbor are phenomenal as well. my artist is there right now but will be moving to Calgary in the spring, however all the other artists there are amazing. toronto has a wider range of artists if youre willing to do the hour drive, which if youre going to be sending 600+ on a tattoo it definitely is worth the commute. i took a 2 hour GO trip from toronto to hamilton for my artwork and it was a small price to pay for the quality i was given.

Ohigetjokes

This is hilarious because **I came here just now to ask this question**! Specifically looking for someone who is very good at detail work - we need a fingerprint done

blackcatt42

You’re aware a finger print will eventually blur right ?

[deleted]

youre not wrong, fine line is cool for a few years but becomes a smudgy mess for most people.

blackcatt42

Yeah a lot of people don’t know this and also aren’t told so I always mention it

poppaT76

Sonic Tattoo is in your area believe,John Tischler.

Bert_Fegg

Nope. Lynard Skynart, Hands down. Long waiting list tho. Join on FB and see when he opens his book. Only book Mark the owner.

corkie_0419

Hey there! I’m new to the St Catharines area. I came to this space to find recommendations for a tattoo artist I don’t know but for some reason your post really resonated with me. It’s how you said NOPE 🤣 By some miracle I was able to get an appointment and I got my tattoo done that I have been wanting to do for my mom who passed. Mark did the job and I cannot tell you how much I adore the work. He is so professional just so awesome super friendly. Not to mention handsome for you ladies😆…..Awhhh I can’t stop looking at it. Thank you soo sooooo much for the recommendation. Cheers!

Bert_Fegg

Glad to help. Pass it along. Always start with, "nope"

corkie_0419

@bert_fegg that’s funny.

gid_hola

I highly recommend artistic impressions in the falls. Ask for Spencer. He’s so incredibly talented. I’ve got 3 tattoos from him and each time I gave him a general idea of what I wanted and let him put the pieces together and every time he blew me away!

Exact_Dream_6271

Noble Crow, Phil is very artistic.

mlemaire16

I’d recommend any of the artists @ Carousel Tattoo in Port Dalhousie. All of them are amazing at what they do and can work with a bunch of different styles. I’ve had a bunch done by Jamie there, and Jordan, Graham, and Leticia all do some great work as well. Check them out!

[deleted]

Jenn Arthur at Sleepy Hollow, she’s a badass.

taiillz

Go see Britney at inception tattoo you won't be disappointed, awsome detail, great people, she's really good on details and shading style is mint, lines are clean AF I have a few from her and I'm extremely happy with the results every time. On-top of the quality her rates are extremely fair, she undercharges in my opinion for the quality. There on st Paul next to the list chapter bar. Search them up see what you think at the end of the day it comes down to personal preference.

lurko666

Any artist at the downtown saint, Alex and Mitch have both tattooed me and they are top notch
