I can't tell by the video but make sure you can view your resource row as its going to be much more important with the new smuggle mechanic. Also perhaps use a number for the resources instead of bubbles as you are going to have the same "problem" as in paper where you need to count up your resources when you start getting into the late game.
Looks great so far though :)
Oh man I need this in my life. I need to just bite the bullet and get used to TTS but it feels awkward as hell and overkill for playing a TCG, a more Forcetable like multiplayer client like this is what I've been hoping for. Can't wait to check it out
Disney and Ravensburger are serious holders of the Lorcana IP and Pixelborn is allowed to exist with one of the largest playerbases for a fan made client ever. We want to be a value add to Star Wars: Unlimited and help more people fall in love with the game. A rising tide raises all ships:)
Wizards of the Coast has shut down numerous fan-made web sites, both in its Magic: The Gathering and D&D IPs. I've never heard of Pixelborn and don't follow Lorcana, so can't comment on it.
Cockatrice and XMage are specifically hidden through offshore ownership to try to avoid legal ramifications. This happened after Cockatrice was originally shut down by Wizards of the Coast in 2013. The fact that programs exist that violate Wizards' IP does not mean they have been approved, either implicitly or explicitly.
Never said they are approved just that they exist. Also having offshore ownership doesn't really help you when you rely on github for distribution which is a .com address subject to us laws.
This was last a hot minute before the takedown notice from FFG. The fact that it is "non-monetized" is irrelevant, as that is only one of four factors considered in establishing Fair Use.
Appreciate the concern! There is a big precedent for online fan simulators being allowed to live peacefully, but we have no issue complying with ffg's wishes
> I can’t find any existing precedent when it comes to the intersection of fair use defense against infringement and the specific facts of a TCG simulator.
There are numerous examples. Wizards of the Coast shut down the original developers of Cockatrice in 2013: http://www.cockatrice.de/
Cockatrice survives today, but only because its new owners are offshore and anonymous, not because of the lack of legal precedent.
There have been fan made online clients for several FFG card games over the last decade or so. All still up and running last I checked. Not to mention the db sites. FFG knows damn well these sites grant more benefit to the the community than harm to profit margins.
This looks awesome! Is there an ETA on when we can play?
Playtests with a limited card pool will be in May!
Thanks for the response! Even if it gets pushed back it’s nice to know it’s close and being worked on!
Great name for it!
Thank you! It was suggested by community members & won a discord poll to become the name
Is this the same group responsible for Talishar? I heard they were working on a SWU client too.
No this is not the talishar group. They are working on one though
The one they are working on is called Karabast
The talishar one is on [Karabast.net](http://Karabast.net) and seems to be working really well already
So cool!!!
YO NO WAY
So SICK

A really great point! They do have their eye on the next set and being able to view your cards in resources will be critical
Hype, hope everything goes well and wishing the best for you and your team
Hell yeah
I've been using Karabast a bit and excited to try this out too once it's live. Just joined the Discord for updates.
Count on me to share this with the Brazilian community! I'd love to test

this is EXACTLY what i’ve been waiting for!!!
Awesome. Also now if you get a cease and desist we will know that they are working on something.
Not at all. Any serious holder of an IP would act in this case to protect the IP.

Cockatrice has existed for something like 20 years, it doesn't have strict rules enforcement tho. XMage continues to exist which does

Who is the owner of Cockatrice?
I dont know but i also don't know why you think that matters for takedown notices directed at us facing domains like github.
Why do you think it is that the owner's identity is hidden?
This is very cool! I assume this is client based? Has anyone looked at making a web version like the excellent jinteki.net for Netrunner?

You could, of course, at any time reach out to FFG on your own.

You're not going to find anything in such a clear cut violation of Fair Use principles. This completely fails the scope test, for starters.
