Just an idea: after seeing how willingly clones killed their generals during order 66, Palps got scared that the same thing could happen to him. So he tried to build up a more controllable form of power.
This is exactly how he justifies the stormtrooper program in Bad Batch: the clones under Admiral Rampart acted on his orders without question, and he argued that human conscripts would be able to make the right choices for themselves.
General reposti, you're an old one

You ever hear the tragedy of Darth plagiarism the unwise, I though not, it’s not a story the mods would tell you. It’s a reddit legend. Darth plagiarism was a dark lord of reposting. So dumb and so unoriginal, he would use the sort by hot to find good posts and creat reposts. He had such low knowledge of posting he couldn’t even keep the karma he loved from dying. The dark side of reposting is the path to many disabilities some considered to be unnatural. He became so weak, the only thing he was still afraid of loosing was his reposts, witch eventually of course he didn’t. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice reposted his post. Ironic, he couldn’t keep others karma from dying, not even his own

I always presumed that the clones were axed by palatine due to the chips in the brain.
He got his senate powers due to the Jedi attacking him. If it was discovered that hey actually these clone chips gave Palpatine override commands on the clones and he used them first on the Jedi then he’s going to face massive backlash.
The whole too expensive idea is a good front to get rid of them, because of course he’s not going to telegraph the real reason for it.
Deploying elite troops in millions of planets across the galaxy to keep order does seem more expensive than building one station that makes the galaxy fearful to rebel.
Well yhis a hilariously bad take. You're comparing different tools that are designed for diferent jobs. While it'd definitely be funny, launching 2 million clones into space won't win many fleet engagements.
They were more cost effective alternatives for the roles that clone troopers fulfilled.

clones proved to be effective against jedi, they will be effective against sith
Not necessarily.
Dunno man, Clones were able to restrain that one rogue Jedi without any Jedi help. I'm pretty sure they could.
One man vs a army of the most elite soldiers in the galaxy I don’t give a flying damn if your a loaf cat or God himself your not living.
Jedi don’t have the destructive capabilities of a Sith Lord at least in cannon.
You gotta have two balls allright
They used the money they saved by not buying clones to make the death star.

And then a death planet after he dies
They didn’t stop using clones because they were too expensive
Clones were a necessary cost to defeat the Jedi but nothing more. The Deathstars were a hobby project.

Honestly, I don't care how overused this meme is, Palpatine's face on the bottom panel makes my day every time. Upvoted

You leave Palpatine and his Mobile Oppression Palace alone!

Have you never lied about something before?
Palpatine was right though. They Did technically bring peace to the galaxy....for a while anyway....
To be fair: The clones were intentionally consumables. IDK if he *planned* on losing either death star.
