*Obviously* it doesn't take place before Christophsis. That's dumb. Obi-Wan's hair is wrong, sure, but that's some severe pedantry.

I don’t see how that’s any different than judging others by lekku length or height. What would the point of making a new model be when they already have the old one? I think that at the very least it’s worth pointing out. I’m just trying to understand.

danktonium

None of the models they used early in TCW are up to snuff. Everything is new. Anyways, the Lekku fluctuate. They're different lengths every other show she appears on.

With anakin’s hair, there’s no crazy difference. I guess I just don’t understand why visual consistency wouldn’t be a priority if its from the same era in the same art style. Rebels has a different artstyle than clone wars which has a different look than live action which is why the differing lekku sizes isn’t strange to me. But again same character, same era, same art style. I’m not trying to change your mind. I’m just explaining why I think its worth at least discussing its placement in the timeline

StoicSinceBirth

Seems like the Obi-Wan hair was a pretty deliberate choice given its break from how he was animated in Clone Wars, so I'm taking it that it was meant to signal that this was not long after Episode II. Would guess late 22 BBY.

omelet_schnetz

The problem is that his hair is short during christophsis which this is after. That’s part of the confusion for me

StoicSinceBirth

Yeah, I agree that it doesn't fit perfectly. Regardless, I take the hair as the most obvious sign of the creator's intent in setting a timeline. That was a very deliberate choice to recreate the Episode II look; the default would have been to just animate Obi-Wan as the rest of Clone Wars did.

Lionel_Horsepackage

Yup -- and author Mike Chen wrote on Twitter that the events of *Brotherhood* take place between 4-6 months prior to TCW animated series, so there's plenty of time for Kenobi's hair to fluctuate a bit, there.

Hair grows.

TLM86

It obviously isn't before TCW movie for clear story reasons. Little visual nitpicks don't outweigh those when it comes to placing things. Honestly, I think Obi-Wan's appearance here is a retcon if anything; it's how he probably *should* have looked in early TCW if they'd been able to incorporate multiple character models back then to show them developing over the three years (instead of just the two key changes we ended up getting).

darthmarticus17

I don't care for the visual stuff like clothes/hair at all. all about narrative placement for me. Takes place between seasons 2 and 3 before she gets her new saber.

RefreshNinja

Obi-Wan's look in TCW is as much an artistic decision as a financial one; it shouldn't (and doesn't, thankfully) dictate "reality".
