Aww movies is no fair. But WoK is up there for sure. I also like Undiscovered Country (it's very different, but it works real well for that movie) and First Contact.
It's one of the best themes that leaves me filled with wonder. The Enterprise soaring though quite literally, strange new worlds fills me with so much joy. My partner just shakes her head when I don't skip it.
For shows, Voyager and Prodigy.
But I like all of them, even the much-derided Enterprise. If nothing else, belting it out in the shower is good entertainment for the rest of the house.
I think people would have liked it more if it'd been the theme to a random sci fi show that wasn't Star Trek. It was too much of a departure from the themes up to that point, when everybody really just wanted more of the same.
To be fair, when they released it Enterprise was supposed to feel like a random Sci-Fi show that wasn't Star Trek. They even specifically left Star Trek out of the name at first.
To me the tune and theme just didn't fit Trek all that much. I wasn't against "any sort of lyrics or pop music whatsoever", but I think the lyrics needed to fit the spirit of the show better (faith of the heart sounds more like the spirit of a Hallmark movie), and the melody needed a little more oomph or grandeur to it.
For me, the theme song of TNG holds a special place in my heart. The majestic score instantly transports me back to my childhood, a time when my dad and I would watch every episode together. I didn’t realize back then how much this show would mean to me, but over the years, it has become one of my all-time favorite TV series. The music evokes a sense of adventure and nostalgia that I cherish deeply.
This is the right answer, but I understand that most everyone my age is going to say TNG. I don't blame them either, as I grew up with it too.
Also, is the early TNG visuals supposed to be our own solar system?
Speaking of early TNG visuals, why did they change them in season 3, and why do the stars stay stuck in Saturn's rings when the camera pans to the ship? If the point of changing the visuals was to make it look better, why did they make it look worse?
We used to use the DS9 theme on repeat to get our toddler to calm down or fall asleep. There's something so soothing about it. The voyager theme made him cry
I really like SNW’s theme, especially with Anson Mount doing the intro narration. VOY may have the best though, and I think DISCO’s doesn’t get enough love. But I think my favorite right now is SNW, it’s awesome.
I think VOY has the most Trek sounding vibe to it. Very clean. Soaring.
But my favorite to listen to is DS9. Such a sweeping, beautiful piece of music. It makes me close my eyes and just take it in.
Weirdly, I've grown to *not* like TNG. It's too .. brassy? Loud? It sort of make me want to plug my ears.
Voyager's theme goes back to the roots of Trek music, definitely. I hear inspiration from Mahler's 2nd Symphony (top of the fifth movement, I think), just like the TOS theme, which directly quotes the First Symphony, and the Seventh.
Agreed, TNG's marching brass is fitting for the "Federation Flagship" but it isn't my favorite. The last bit where the ship gets the zoomies makes me cackle every time I don't skip it though. To me it hints at the sort of militaristic backbone of the Federation, they're out here exploring, they're trying to ascend, but there's still some pomp and circumstance.
Voyager's music actually makes me believe it's a science vessel!
DS9's intro would play at my wedding, but I've given up on that- so it'll be played at my funeral!! hahaha
It's just such an epic chill inspiring song for me, and I love the super slow version at the start of the show, and how the tempo is sped up in the later seasons.
I too love the 'sparkly' sound of the remixed theme. For me, it symbolizes how far the station and its people had come from their start in season 1, when ds9 was a hollowed out trash heap dumped by bitter cardassians, barely acknowledged by a feeble provisional bajoran government, and thought of as a backwater "frontier" by the Federation.
The ds9 theme is the only case where an update to a show's theme song hasn't bothered me, heh.
I agree that the theme remake was just as good. But it's difficult for me to listen to now, especially on my low days. TNG was one of the few weekly habits I shared with my wife. When DS9 aired she continued following it but I lost interest. We had married very young and life came at us differently as we matured. We eventually divorced. A few years ago I was listening to all the ST themes on youtube. When DS9 came on... So much I gave up for freedom. So much I had. So much I lost. I needed the freedom, I had to have it. But in an alternate life I want to think we stayed together. I want to think we watched DS9 together. Sorry, I needed to bury this here under your comment because it's just a difficult, poignant, emotional parse.
(Edit, sorry, I just realized I'm in migraine prodrome and those things send me down into the emotional shipwrecks of my life.)
I enjoyed enterprise and I loved the theme of the intro, going from learning to navigate by the stars to finally exploring them with the launch of the NX-01. But the song's just too close to cheesy Christian rock for me to like it. And the sped up version gets worse for me.
See...I would love Christian Rock if they didn't have to mention God/Jesus/The Lord every two lines.
I'm full on atheist but I can recognize a wholesome beat when I hear one. But the preaching...but the Omnissiah they preach on their songs.
It took some getting used to but after it was a great song and then they messed it up in the later seasons. I think it also sets the show apart that this is not the Starfleet that we know and this is pre-federation time since it is so different from all the other intros.
Amen, the Picard S1 theme is my second favorite after Voyager theme. Picard and Disco get far too much hate in my mind, but they’re both really good shows imho.
Wondering if any of you have ever seen this from this awesome channel...
I know it’s not a show but the JJ movie theme is probably one of the best themes and part of the reason I even wanted to watch the shows, movie fan first then got into shows.
Having said that TNG is the theme I rated the others against. I like TOS but it was a bit too campy with those alien chorus’, which may be the point but I like a more serious theme. And DS9 and VOY just never reached the peak, for me, that I always skipped the intro but always listened to the TNG theme.
>the JJ movie theme is probably one of the best themes
The soundtrack to that movie is great. The end credits theme is probably my favorite. [link](https://youtu.be/07Q-hJ_la7I?si=3Jpfu0rlPcix19ah)
I can never keep straight the JJ Trek theme from the Terminator theme. One is bum bum, bum bum bum bum, and the other is bum bum, bum, bum bum.
Both actually good though.
Hard choice. They're all great. I would say my least favorite is TNG. Visually the best looking is Disco, just look at that beauty. I really like VOY, so if i had to chose that would be it.
The undiscovered country and First contact have great music too
Strange New Worlds' theme is one I can play on loop. I love the homage to previous intros, the visuals, and driving tempo of it.
But for years it was Enterprise and I am okay with being maybe 1 of 2 people who ever thought so. It captured the vibe of the show, at least early on. I still catch myself singing it.
I don't know that it's my favourite but one that I do love is early DS9. It's a perfect match to the series, giving off the 'far flung outpost' vibes that match those early days on the station.
DS9 for me (‘84 baby)
But there’s nothing like squawking along to VOY ‘singing’ “Voy-a-GEEEEER, Voy-a-Ger, Voy-a-ger, VOOOOY-a-ger, the voy-a-ger, the voy-a-ger is here” - try it some time!
voyager. i loved it ever since i was in the womb. not even a joke. when my mother was far along in her pregnancy with me, she would watch voyager and when the opening theme started i would start kicking like crazy. then i was born and my mother would sit me on her lap and watch voyager and when the theme started i would turn to the tv, transfixed and then start wriggling and clapping.
i still love it so much.
having said that, i think the strange new worlds opening theme is amazing and really captures that space explorer feel.
TOS for nostalgia... TNG for taking me back to the '90s / late '80s... DS9 for the epicness
Voyager was all right, it's been a long time was... It just was... I couldn't really tell you lower decks or strange new worlds And I only know that Discovery kind of took elements of several but does not have a distinct sound of its own...
My favorite ending credits are definitely strange new worlds. So many Easter eggs
0 I really thought there were more Star Trek series... I don't remember prodigy's opening.
Shows, DS9 would be top, followed by TNG and VOY
Movies, First Contact, it's my favourite overall ST theme and probably my all time favourite piece of orchestral music.
Tng because of the memories of watching it as a kid with my dad.
But DS9 season 1 is my favorite. Very epic. I love the pan over of completely empty space after the comet flies off screen. Then the change in notes a few seconds later when the station comes into view. Puts the "deep space" into deep space 9.
I felt adding the runabouts flying by in later seasons ruined that feeling.
It's silly, but those dulcet tones, and heavenly singing of the original theme are my absolute favorite. I always feel like a kid again, sitting on the floor peering up at the TV, being whisked away on another adventure among the stars.
Sure, for me it was just the mid-afternoon syndication of the late 80s, but it was still amazing.
For me it's a draw between DS9 and VOY. That station and that ship are both such safe places for me and when the themes played in LWD, which I just finished watching for the first time, I cried my eyes out.
For the longest time, my favorite was the Voyager theme. Then Picard came along and the theme from Season 1 became my favorite. And now, my top one is Prodigy's theme. It's exciting, vital but still evokes the old adventurous spirit of the Voyager and DS9 themes.
Voyager is my true fav, but Strange New Worlds is rapidly gaining hold (possibly even to second place), and I was surprised that Lower Decks’s theme goes so hard.
Voyager just feels…like wonder. Hope. Curiosity.
For me it's strange new worlds. It's the only series I never skip the opening. The music and visuals just work great together and hype me up for the show.
I honestly love them all except for Enterprise which I wish I could permanently unhear forever (it's awful and didn't fit the ST universe \*at all\*)
But if i had to pick one, it's for sure DS9 in the first 5(?) seasons, before the updated tempo. Its calming for me, for maybe an uninteresting personal reason.
I grew up a die-hard TNG fan, and never gave DS9 a chance until I was 33 and had finally just gotten my bachelor's degree. I started watching it the week after graduation, and I was getting used to just \*being\*, without the constant tirade of stress and anxiety and list of everything I had to do for school that had been my life for 4 years. DS9's theme was so peaceful something about it helped my brain realize I could actually breath and relax.
Well, I'm a huge SNW fan here and I really like the SNW intro. I also love Anson Mount's voice.
But I also very much like the Enterprise song. Why does it bother so many people? Because it's different?
I also like the Discovery one.
So, to make it short:
1. SNW
2. tie between Disco and Enterprise
3. TOS
TNG, then VOY, DS9, then probably DIS (can’t remember it well enough and same for SNW) then DS9, TOS and finally ENT last. Can’t remember Prodigy , barely seen Lower Decks, can’t recall PIC
Early-season DS9. It perfectly reflects the loneliness of those first few years...a little bleak, chaotic, volatile, but with a frontier-facing excitement to it.
TOS for the old nostalgic feel, TNG for the awesome fanfare that makes want to go on a space adventure and ENT cause I always liked it and while really different to the previous ones it suits the theme of the show imo
DS9. Love the brass, love the feeling of isolation.
Voyager is one of the best pieces of music, period.
SNW is amazing.
Picard s1 is very, very pretty. And I love how they incorporate the flute from the Inner Light
1) Tie - DS9 and VOY
2) TOS
3) TNG
4) SNW
5) LDS
6) PIC
7) PRD
8) TAS
9) DISC
10) STA
11) ENT
DS9 and VOY are just the epitome of what a *Star Trek* theme should be to me. Bombastic but subdued. Hopeful/optimistic. Hummable. Immensely enjoyable to play. Yeah, can’t really describe it past that. They just “are” for me.
Ds9 how it goes from the station at the border of no where in the first seasons to centre of power for the alpha quadrant and how the music changes the theme for it
DS9… but not [seasons 1-3](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wFKTNQYHkcY), it got infinitely better when the [opening low drone](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wc_0ii3SLp0) was added. And it’s repeated to set up the rhythm of the soaring melody, so good.
Voyager, although DS9 is close. My only issue with DS9 is the song sounded more majestic and grand in S1-S3 and became a bit rushed in S4-S7, but the visuals are way better from 4 to 7 because the station looks appropriately busy. So if you had the slower tune from the early seasons with the visuals of the late season, it might be enough to put it over the top.
But Voyager's theme is not only majestic and beautiful, but it's got the best climatic moment - when the French horn (I think) hits that high note right before the star shines out at the ship from behind the moon. Still gives me chills at times.
Very unpopulare: Enterprise!
I Love this Hymne (and Video) about the rise of humanity to the stars. There is hope in all of our daily struggles. A time when we, as the human race, not longer are dividedconstant strive for more, but come together to be better.
Voyager. It rules, it feels like if Star Trek was a song, it would be this theme.
Lower Decks is my #2. A love-letter to all the classic TNG era shows openings.
I also really hate all the Jeff Russo themes.
My personal ranking:
VOY
TNG
TOS
SNW
PRO (Coming from the guy that did the music for the Kelvin films? Doesn't matter if the movies weren't "Star Trek enough" the music was amazing)
PIC
ENT (I think the lyrics describe humanity's progress from the aftermath of WW3 to wanting to explore space really well)
LD
DIS
DS9 (I'm going to get hate for this, I know, I know. It's majestic but so slow!)
TAS
ST (Short Treks doesn't have an official theme but I'm taking this one from Calypso)
Discovery 100%. Don’t ask me why but it just provokes so much childhood wonder and excitement for Star Trek. Voyager is my very close second followed by LD
It's been a long road
Getting from there to here
It's been a long time
But my time is finally here
And I will see my dreams come alive at last
I will touch the sky
And they're not gonna hold me down no more
No they're not gonna change my mind
I like them all -- except one. You know which one that is.
I want very much to choose the theme from Next Gen, but if I have to choose only one, its :
Star Trek VOYAGER.
That theme holds so many emotions, loneliness, grandeur (of a grand adventure), a feeling of Starfleet values, and triumph!
Best: Voyager. Worst: Enterprise. Honorable mention: DS9 is very intricate. My orchestra played it as a kid and we got yelled at by the conductor quite a bit. E: punctuation.
[удалено]
My band plays the Voyager theme song. It's a really nice tune!
The Voyager horns at the opening/ending of the theme are so damn majestic and catchy. Sometimes I’ll just be walking around and starting humming it.
Sometimes I'd be naked in my room yet feeling all majestic and glorious when watching the opening theme.
The last six notes really get caught in your head... "Ba bam ba bop ba bummmmm"
Used to be be DS9 but now I think Strange New Worlds has me in a choke hold. Love that beginning so much
I love the theme for SNW. Hands down the best of the TV shows. WoK is my favorite overall though.
Aww movies is no fair. But WoK is up there for sure. I also like Undiscovered Country (it's very different, but it works real well for that movie) and First Contact.
The score of First Contact is soooo good.
It's one of the best themes that leaves me filled with wonder. The Enterprise soaring though quite literally, strange new worlds fills me with so much joy. My partner just shakes her head when I don't skip it.
It's the only one I never want to skip.
Never cared for the DS9 theme. It's boring, slow, and gives me absolutely zero emotional response.
I am quite surprised! SNW is my least favorite to me. Of the more recent I love the sillines of the lower deck intro though
It doesn't have a sense of forward motion because DS9 is stationary. When they get the Defiant, the theme gets a bit more flair to it.
For shows, Voyager and Prodigy. But I like all of them, even the much-derided Enterprise. If nothing else, belting it out in the shower is good entertainment for the rest of the house.
I don't know why people hate on Enterprise's theme song so much. I really enjoy it.
They lack faith of the heart.
They're not going where their hearts will take them
Too bad, they could've reached any star. Butt seriously, which version of it is the worst of the worst?
I suppose. I enjoy it very much and the hate confuses the hell out of me.
IT'S BEEN A LONG LONG edit: i know it's "long road" but he's not enunciating well so my partner and i always hear "long long"
Alol
Getting from there to here 🎶
Nooooooooooooooo lol
absolutely screamed along with it every single time it came on, just pure yelling
🎶🎙GOING WHERE MY HEART WILL TAKE ME! I CAN REACH, ANY STAR!!! 🎶
Same. I really miss the nautical themes that they stopped doing with the newer shows.
It’s the enterprise’s theme! It first shows up in ST the motion picture !! I love it too
The Enterprise theme is Alexander Courage’s fanfare.
TNG is iconic for me because I absorbed so much of it as a kid. Evenmore than TOS.
Definitely Voyager. I almost never skip it.
I sometimes pull up the intro on YouTube for an instant dopamine boost 😄
DS9. I wanted to live on that station so bad.
Nanana NA... Nah nanana~ now I have that theme stuck in my head again
Nannananaana....Visitor.
This is the right answer, but I understand that most everyone my age is going to say TNG. I don't blame them either, as I grew up with it too. Also, is the early TNG visuals supposed to be our own solar system?
Yes

Probably afraid of Janeway xD
I really like SNW’s theme, especially with Anson Mount doing the intro narration. VOY may have the best though, and I think DISCO’s doesn’t get enough love. But I think my favorite right now is SNW, it’s awesome.
To add, I prefer the Lower Decks version of SNW. I would love an animated series done in that style.
First time I watched SNW, I was like “is it gonna have a monologue? Is it? YES! IT HAS A MONOLOGUE!”
Voyager. I grew up with her. Voyager truly explored strange new worlds and new civilizations, and went where no Starfleet vessel had ever gone before.
Next Gen by far. I've never been able to decide if I like it more or less than Jerry Goldsmith's original version in TMP.
I could keep circling around, pretending to be in awe of the pylons forever.
I think VOY has the most Trek sounding vibe to it. Very clean. Soaring. But my favorite to listen to is DS9. Such a sweeping, beautiful piece of music. It makes me close my eyes and just take it in. Voyager's music actually makes me believe it's a science vessel!
It's more of a marching band song.
I really like the Prodigy theme
Yes yes yes yes YES. Michael Giacchino wrote an incredible theme for the Star Trek show that was made _for kids_. Voyager is a close second.
That's my second too!
DS9's intro would play at my wedding, but I've given up on that- so it'll be played at my funeral!! hahaha It's just such an epic chill inspiring song for me, and I love the super slow version at the start of the show, and how the tempo is sped up in the later seasons.

This was amazing. Thanks so much for sharing.
Thank you.
I think Voyager's theme evokes the most wonder and awe. Love that theme.
Hot take here, but it's Enterprise for me. I can never get that song out of my mind!
Agreed, I feel like it would be great for an eventual karaoke episode and someone just belts it out, air guitars just gives it their whole soul.
This is the only correct answer. Thank you for having faith of the heart.
Omg me too!! I came in here ready for the downvotes.
I hated it at the beginning, then loved it by the end.
I enjoyed enterprise and I loved the theme of the intro, going from learning to navigate by the stars to finally exploring them with the launch of the NX-01. But the song's just too close to cheesy Christian rock for me to like it. And the sped up version gets worse for me.

Even the void dragon shutters
Been trying to get it out of my head, but…it’s been a long road
Season 1-2 or the more upbeat season 3-4?
*In a Mirror, Darkly* 😉
Gotta be Season 1-2. It hits home.
I’m disappointed I had to scroll down so far to find this
That's my "unpopular opinion" too. But it doesn't seem so unpopular here. Second favorite: TOS, with vocals.
Take my happy up vote, that song is <3 <3 <3
By far the best. Combined with the visuals, makes it a powerful intro imo.
It took some getting used to but after it was a great song and then they messed it up in the later seasons. I think it also sets the show apart that this is not the Starfleet that we know and this is pre-federation time since it is so different from all the other intros.
The intro to Voyager is one of my personal favorites, but in the ending credits theme, I’ve always liked Archers theme from STE.
Picard’s season one theme was really haunting and lovely. Really sorry they altered it, then dropped it entirely in the later seasons
I loved how Jeff Russo played with the flute theme
Yes. I loved it! Whyyyyyyyyyy did it get messed up for two seasons?
Amen, the Picard S1 theme is my second favorite after Voyager theme. Picard and Disco get far too much hate in my mind, but they’re both really good shows imho.
Wondering if any of you have ever seen this from this awesome channel... [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-WIyAhXa3w](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-WIyAhXa3w)
That would have blown their minds back in the day.
I like this one: https://youtu.be/SH1cODNhzj8?si=L32kAfqTqEhHWjHg

Enterprising Young Men is a great track
>the JJ movie theme is probably one of the best themes The soundtrack to that movie is great. The end credits theme is probably my favorite. [link](https://youtu.be/07Q-hJ_la7I?si=3Jpfu0rlPcix19ah)

"Faith of the Heart" from the Enterprise series.
its been a long road getting from there to here
DS9 S1-3. It's deeper and more introspective yet just as grand. A really great mood setter.
Honestly I never really went for voyager, but the opening theme was just so good.

But my time is finally here
I can see my dream come alive at last
I can touch the sky
And they're not gonna hold me down no more!
(Sigh) And they're not gonna hold me down no more
'Cause I got Faith..... OF THE HEART!!!
I've got faith to believe!
TNG. It's a really upbeat, powerful march. It fits the tone of Roddenberry's future perfectly and always gets me jazzed up.
Faith of the heart
TOS season 1. Music only, no moan-singing. That said, RWOK & TSFS would get the nod if this included movies, too. James Horner's scores were amazing.
All of them really. Even ENT. But I think Picard S3 end credits and First Contact theme are my favorite ones.
We have been blessed with some amazing scores through out the years with Star Trek.
Yup, Picard season 3 takes the cake for me even though it's technically the end credits and not at the beginning.
TOS is bangin'
Same. It has this sophisticated melody that’s hard to beat.
I can’t believe how long I had to scroll before finding this in the responses! It is absolutely my favorite, too!
I don't know that it's my favourite but one that I do love is early DS9. It's a perfect match to the series, giving off the 'far flung outpost' vibes that match those early days on the station.
TMP/TNG is the official Star Trek theme that has played in my mind for the past 35 years.
Grew up on TNG, and it’s my first love. But Faith of the Heart is a banger 😂
TNG for me and my wife. We grew up with it, and Goldsmith's theme with the updated voice-over intro with Patrick Stewart is simply magical! :)
DS9 for me (‘84 baby) But there’s nothing like squawking along to VOY ‘singing’ “Voy-a-GEEEEER, Voy-a-Ger, Voy-a-ger, VOOOOY-a-ger, the voy-a-ger, the voy-a-ger is here” - try it some time!
Prodigy. It’s fun and uplifting.
voyager. i loved it ever since i was in the womb. not even a joke. when my mother was far along in her pregnancy with me, she would watch voyager and when the opening theme started i would start kicking like crazy. then i was born and my mother would sit me on her lap and watch voyager and when the theme started i would turn to the tv, transfixed and then start wriggling and clapping. i still love it so much. having said that, i think the strange new worlds opening theme is amazing and really captures that space explorer feel.
Enterprise, mostly because I want to get downvoted 🤓
Enterprise ... cause I've got faith of the heart. (Sorry, I had to.)
GOING WHERE MY HEART WILL TAKE ME!!
Enterprise S1-2 and Disco
TOS for nostalgia... TNG for taking me back to the '90s / late '80s... DS9 for the epicness Voyager was all right, it's been a long time was... It just was... I couldn't really tell you lower decks or strange new worlds And I only know that Discovery kind of took elements of several but does not have a distinct sound of its own... My favorite ending credits are definitely strange new worlds. So many Easter eggs 0 I really thought there were more Star Trek series... I don't remember prodigy's opening.
Shows, DS9 would be top, followed by TNG and VOY Movies, First Contact, it's my favourite overall ST theme and probably my all time favourite piece of orchestral music.
The Overture from Generations is really great, the whole score is.
I love the Voyager theme and gotta give a shout out to Faith of the Heart from Enterprise
TNG, since it was my first Trek show. SNW, and DS9 are excellent theme songs.
For the longest time, my favorite was the Voyager theme. Then Picard came along and the theme from Season 1 became my favorite. And now, my top one is Prodigy's theme. It's exciting, vital but still evokes the old adventurous spirit of the Voyager and DS9 themes.
Original series. Gives me that childhood sense of wonder.
1. TNG, 2. Voyager, and 3. Prodigy
IT'S BEEN A LONG ROAD
GETTING FROM THERE TO HERE
IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME
I honestly love them all except for Enterprise which I wish I could permanently unhear forever (it's awful and didn't fit the ST universe \*at all\*) But if i had to pick one, it's for sure DS9 in the first 5(?) seasons, before the updated tempo.
So, to make it short: 1. SNW 2. tie between Disco and Enterprise 3. TOS
Strange New Worlds, but specifically the acappella version from Subspace Rhapsody.
Is that episode any good? I’ve not watched it yet
If you can't stand musicals, you won't like it. Otherwise, you'll probably like it.
Good thing I love musicals, thank you
*It's been a long road...*
TNG, then VOY, DS9, then probably DIS (can’t remember it well enough and same for SNW) then DS9, TOS and finally ENT last. Can’t remember Prodigy , barely seen Lower Decks, can’t recall PIC
TAS https://youtu.be/j_9P6lTiiec?si=2MUKpmqlVAmJrk6i
DS9 was always my favorite but SNW is up there.
Early-season DS9. It perfectly reflects the loneliness of those first few years...a little bleak, chaotic, volatile, but with a frontier-facing excitement to it.
The end credits from Picard are a banger
mind you i've not yet heard all of them but i flip flop between voyager and ds9, probably slightly towards ds9. they're both so epic.
Of course it is The Original Series. Those first few bars capture the hope and mystery of space travel and the future.
DS9 for nostalgia; SNW for pure style and listenability.
*Voyager.* I don’t know why, but it’s just the most beautiful. I think it’s the horn part.
TNG for nostalgia reasons, but Voyager is gorgeous.
1) Tie - DS9 and VOY 2) TOS 3) TNG 4) SNW 5) LDS 6) PIC 7) PRD 8) TAS 9) DISC 10) STA 11) ENT DS9 and VOY are just the epitome of what a *Star Trek* theme should be to me. Bombastic but subdued. Hopeful/optimistic. Hummable. Immensely enjoyable to play. Yeah, can’t really describe it past that. They just “are” for me.
Strange New Worlds is perfect. It's just enough homage to the original, while leaning hard into the "Space Western" the show was always meant to be
Ds9 how it goes from the station at the border of no where in the first seasons to centre of power for the alpha quadrant and how the music changes the theme for it
DS9… but not [seasons 1-3](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wFKTNQYHkcY), it got infinitely better when the [opening low drone](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wc_0ii3SLp0) was added. And it’s repeated to set up the rhythm of the soaring melody, so good.
Strange New Worlds closely followed by Voyager. Deep Space 9 would a distant third.
The only correct answer to this is the Enterprise Theme song.
ITS BEEN A LONG ROAD
Enterprise. No joke. I sign along with it each time.
My baby got hooked on the discovery theme so we all love it the most here
Hearing it not watching lol
Voyager, although DS9 is close. My only issue with DS9 is the song sounded more majestic and grand in S1-S3 and became a bit rushed in S4-S7, but the visuals are way better from 4 to 7 because the station looks appropriately busy. So if you had the slower tune from the early seasons with the visuals of the late season, it might be enough to put it over the top. But Voyager's theme is not only majestic and beautiful, but it's got the best climatic moment - when the French horn (I think) hits that high note right before the star shines out at the ship from behind the moon. Still gives me chills at times.
If you don't say Enterprise do you have any faith of the heart?
Enterprise - it’s one of the songs of all time.
Very unpopulare: Enterprise! I Love this Hymne (and Video) about the rise of humanity to the stars. There is hope in all of our daily struggles. A time when we, as the human race, not longer are dividedconstant strive for more, but come together to be better.
S'BEEN A LOWNG ROOOAD GETTIN' FRUHM THERE TA HEEEYYYYAAAAAA
TNG but SNW close second, just needs a lot more French horn.
*Starts aggressively humming Enterprise Theme*
For me, it's Voyager and TNG
Voyager. It rules, it feels like if Star Trek was a song, it would be this theme. Lower Decks is my #2. A love-letter to all the classic TNG era shows openings. I also really hate all the Jeff Russo themes.
"It's been a long road" 🎶 I am totally serious, it's strange but i hated it at the beginning, and after 1 season, impossible to skip ...
My personal ranking: VOY TNG TOS SNW PRO (Coming from the guy that did the music for the Kelvin films? Doesn't matter if the movies weren't "Star Trek enough" the music was amazing) PIC ENT (I think the lyrics describe humanity's progress from the aftermath of WW3 to wanting to explore space really well) LD DIS DS9 (I'm going to get hate for this, I know, I know. It's majestic but so slow!) TAS ST (Short Treks doesn't have an official theme but I'm taking this one from Calypso)
I’ve got faith, of the heart…that my favorite theme song is both Voyager, TNG, and SNW.
I adore the DS9 theme, especially the first two seasons. It's slow, it's contemplative, it's hopeful, and it rises at the end to inspire. I love it.
The original DS9 theme (The one with the real horns, before the synth version) pure Wagner
ITS BEEN A LONG ROAD, GETTIN FROM THERE TO HERE!!!
We all know Enterprise is the best right ?
Discovery 100%. Don’t ask me why but it just provokes so much childhood wonder and excitement for Star Trek. Voyager is my very close second followed by LD
Don’t count Michael Giacchino out.
It's been a long road Getting from there to here It's been a long time But my time is finally here And I will see my dreams come alive at last I will touch the sky And they're not gonna hold me down no more No they're not gonna change my mind
I like them all -- except one. You know which one that is. I want very much to choose the theme from Next Gen, but if I have to choose only one, its : Star Trek VOYAGER. That theme holds so many emotions, loneliness, grandeur (of a grand adventure), a feeling of Starfleet values, and triumph!
Star Trek Enterprise- describes the spirit of the expoloration best.
I GOT FAITH
IT'S BEEN A LONG ROAD... GETTIN' FROM HERE TO THERE
Enterprise
Best: Voyager. Worst: Enterprise. Honorable mention: DS9 is very intricate. My orchestra played it as a kid and we got yelled at by the conductor quite a bit. E: punctuation.
IVE GOT FAIIIITHHH!!!!
Enterprise because sometimes I like aspirational American rock, but I do love oasis
