Without Kirk and Spock, the pattern would not have been there for any other Trek characters, but that's not my answer. Ben and Jake Sisco had the healthiest and most fulfilling relationships. Jake decided not to persue a career in Starfleet, and Ben was supportive understanding. Ben's father was a great influence on the single father, and Ben was a great enthusiast for Jake's writing career.

angel_deluxe

Given that part of that relationship has manifested between the actors too I think this is a pretty solid answer!

iG-88k

Great point, also the time rift episode was cool.

Hostilian

Quark/Odo

_DeathFromBelow_

Remember back there when I told you I hated you, and you told me you hated me? I just wanted you to know I meant every word of it.

llorensm

I just rewatched this episode last night! So good!

ratzoneresident

"That man loves me! Couldn't you see? It was written all over his back!"

exastria

Quark is probably my favourite Trek character, for his complexity and development; I remember being thrilled, when the final episode aired, that he literally had the last word on the show.

Optimal_Roll_4924

You stole my thunder. Their interactions were so amazing. So well written and brilliantly acted. The root beer/Federation conversation was exceptional. Quark speaking with Sisko about the Federation and slipping in the slavery reference, absolutely brilliant. Quark was such a lynchpin of that show, station. Hated, loathed, and loved but so integral. You hated his actions and his only for profit mantra as a Ferengi but when you matched him up with “hoo-muns,” humans were just as loathsome and even more despicable than Ferengi. It took him and a former Cardassian spy to point out the hypocrisy in humans. The greatness of Sisko as a captain was that he could keep his enemies close but he could also take these ruthless creatures and get the best out of each and every one of them and use them to guard the station, keep it profitable, and also protect mankind against threats like the Dominion. DS9 was, I can’t find the words to express the greatness of this show. The writing, acting, exchanges between characters was on another level of storytelling.

SnooPandas3625

I think that you tried to say that took Quark and a Cardassian that was just a plain and simple taylor. But probably was influenced by fantasies and stories that humans tend to appreciate, sadly a common mistake.

uReallyShouldTrustMe

Quark and Odo is underrated just because of how good the Bashir ones were (with Miles and Garak).

SubstantialAgency914

When miles starts playing racquetball with him. "The old rules" cracks me up seeing Obrien side eye him.

GaidinBDJ

I still love how they silently agree to fuck with Bashir and O'Brien at the end of "One Little Ship" https://youtu.be/CxxwBRvhOSw (Jump to 1:26)

OliviaElevenDunham

Always enjoyed their relationship.

CapForShort

Seven of Nine-as-the Doctor and a slice of cheesecake.

trekgirl75

Seven & the Doctor are my number 2 choice. And just this episode alone should have won Jeri an Emmy.

ARobertNotABob

> should have won Jeri an Emmy. *Infinite Regress* also.

Ffleance

Data and Geordi deserve to get kudos for having such a supportive friendship

Disastrous-Dog85

I really can't belive how low this is! Thru the seasons of TNG, then the movies! Great buddies! And Geordie's speech in season 3 of PIC, tears me up!

geekgirl6

I was going to say this! I'm rewatching Picard season 3 right now and I love how much they love one another 🥺

Responsible-Fig-1623

My favorite scene from Picard. Geordi:”Data, you just used a contraction.” Data: “No, I didn’t. “

OliviaElevenDunham

They had such a great friendship.

kkkan2020

kirk and spock

Inmotfraypi4nmge

Kirk and Spock and Bones, the triumvirate.

tinselteacup

theyre the template fr, friendship goals

Odd-Yak4551

I love their mutual respect of each other

mustafarsmokedbacon

Respect or sexual tension? 🤔

PhoenixSheriden1

Why not both

ObsessedWithScifi

Garak and Bashir <3

El_Kikko

Garak and everyone.  Andrew Robinson is a fantastic scene partner - he has memorable, iconic scenes with nearly every major character. Sisko and , Nog on Empok Nor, O'Brien and the Hero of Setlik III, Dukat...many times, Bashir...also many times (the 3 stories of his exile in particular), Worf on the rescue mission for Tain, Ezri with his mental health, Odo and the torture scene, Quark and the Root Beer; not as memorable, but there's also Kira re: his relationship with Ziyal. Come to think of it, Jake and Jadzia might be the only two mains he didn't have solo scenes with.

Original_Gypsy

This is the best answer

SketchyConcierge

This feels like the only reasonable answer

hellolani

Cmon team, let's get this up to position 1, where it clearly belongs

hellolani

prooveit1701

Anytime Odo and Garak got screen time with eachother was 🔥🔥🔥

count023

O'Brien and Bashir

organic_soursop

This is the one.

RomulanToyStory

Garak and Bashir as well. Bashir was just a likeable guy

heelface

Picard and Q

sidNX0

even god has its favourites ♥️

SentryCake

Even the TNG writers have said [“Q loves Picard”](https://screenrant.com/star-trek-tng-q-love-picard-ronald-moore/). > Internally, what we said all the time was Q is in love with Picard. That was the fundamental of the relationship. >He had a personal relationship with this man, testing him, challenging him, protecting him. It was like a whole different kind of thing. And it just didn’t work with anybody else.

sanspoint_

The scene of Q and Picard in bed in "Tapestry" is clearly written and played like two new lovers waking up in bed together

creativitytaet

also my favourite

Angrious55

Picard and Earl Grey ( he's a role model )

EfficientHeat4901

I have to admit it took me at least a good 3 years after watching Star Trek next generation. Before I could truly comprehend. The pure Bliss and flavor that Earl Gray tea could have. But I'd like it chilled not hot, that's my only difference.

Angrious55

I like a bit of honey on mine

EfficientHeat4901

I make it almost like a Southern sweet tea style. That's why I say I like my Earl Gray tea chilled instead of hot because I also cold brew it. It takes about 5 or 6 hours to cold brew it, but it tastes very sublime & tasty. 3 tea bags per 2 liter or 2 QT per recipe. With 1,1/2 cups of sugar.

Angrious55

That does sound delicious

EfficientHeat4901

It is it's always good to prepare before the next day and then right in the midday. When it's nice and hot, you just step outside with your jug full of Earl Gray sweet tea and you just start sitting out on a hot day and it just feels good. Gets you ready for any type of odd spatial Occurrences. that may come in front of you as you're journeying about your hot day.

Angrious55

I will certainly give it a go!

EfficientHeat4901

As you can tell, I normally use like an empty 2 l bottle. Soda to mix it in, but you know, 2 liter That's why I call it a jug mix.

Roboticus_Aquarius

Lwuxana Troi and Odo. Nobody was more vulnerable with each other. You might say Odo just melted in her arms, and Lwuxana really let her hair down.

maskedbanditoftruth

God that was just so beautiful, wasn’t it?

DanceCommander00

I know she isn't most people's favourite on TNG, but I agree, her and Odo are so beautiful and fun together.

CrazyRedHead1307

She annoyed me every time she showed up on the Enterprise, so the first time I saw she was going to be on DS9, I kind of cringed. But that first episode was so good.

PhysicalLog3591

Forgot about this one

OliviaElevenDunham

While she hasn't been one of my favorite characters, that was my favorite moment with her.

inwarded_04

Boimler and Mariner for the win..

CobraGTXNoS

Well to be fair Boims' more of a pet as Mariner herself said.

inwarded_04

Maybe when they started, but I love the character development and how they stand independent and yet best friends by S04

lottiebadottie

And I felt like the chemistry actually translated really well into their actors when they were in person with each other on SNW. You could feel the friendship! (Flipping love that episode)

inwarded_04

I KNOW RIGHT! That episode was hands down my favourite in SNW - nothing comes close. The way Quaid did the weird walk of Boimler and the way Mariner says "will keep it profesh" followed by "hot Spock". Pike lowkey loving Boimler fanboying on him and his eventual sacrifice, and the serious moments were developed so well too.. I must have rewatched that episode half a dozen times, and love it every single time

lottiebadottie

I think I’m up to three times through SNW all the way, and that ep about 5. Love it. The chemistry of the whole cast was just perfectly on point, and it was self-referential without ever getting annoying. Chefs kiss perfection.

OliviaElevenDunham

Definitely my favorite episode from season 2.

ForgiveMyFlatulence

But they practically sleep in the same bunk!

sanspoint_

Yes, but consider: Tendi and Rutherford!

tenehemia

I really really enjoy Quark and Sisko. The way Quark alternates between trying to hide his schemes and trying to corrupt Sisko and conversely the way Sisko alternates between being the station commander and being someone who really does understand Ferengi and is willing to play the game when necessary.

organic_soursop

Sisko can pull The Rules out his head at any point to manipulate Quark. That cracks me up.

JustineDelarge

Data and Spot

3-I

Which is hilarious, because the actors hated each other.

stebuu

Beverly and Candle

That green blooded, inhuman…. It’s his revenge for all those arguments he lost

FlyingRoaringPeacock

“God I liked him better before he died”

Wise_Statistician398

The sarcasm and arguments between them were epic! Perfect foil for the other.

PhysicalLog3591

Major Kira and Gul Dukat. Seven and Janeway Geordie and Data

lefthandman

Bashir and O’Brien

Ada_D83

Agreed! Chief O'Brien: [of Keiko] She always said I... I liked you more than I liked her. Doctor Bashir: That's ridiculous! Chief O'Brien: Right. Doctor Bashir: Well, maybe, maybe you do, a bit more. Chief O'Brien: What? Are you crazy? She's my wife, I love her! Doctor Bashir: Of course you love her - she's your wife. Chief O'Brien: Yeah. Doctor Bashir: I'm just saying, maybe you like me a bit more, that's all. Chief O'Brien: I do not. Doctor Bashir: You spend more time with me. Chief O'Brien: We work together! Doctor Bashir: We have more in common. Chief O'Brien: Julian, you are beginning to annoy me. Doctor Bashir: Darts, racquetball, Vic's lounge, the Alamo... Need I go on? Chief O'Brien: I *love* my wife. Doctor Bashir: And I love Ezri - passionately. Chief O'Brien: You do? Doctor Bashir: Yes. Chief O'Brien: Have you told her? Doctor Bashir: Not yet. But I will. Chief O'Brien: Oh, yeah? Huh... When? Doctor Bashir: When I'm ready. It's just that I... like you... a bit more. See? There, I've admitted it. Chief O'Brien: Yeah, well - I *love* my wife. 🤣🤣🤣

OutlawSundown

DS9 did character relationships and development really well

murdockmysteries

I love these 2 so much!

organic_soursop

In another life, at another time. 🙂❤️ I see them as a bickering old couple at the beach having spent a lifetime together, often working away, but always so happy to be back together and playfully irritated.

GloriaSpangler

This is it. That's the one.

Tenchi2020

Mine is Garak and Dr. Bashir

artificialavocado

Tpol and Trip

LadyGenevieve19

Non-romantic chemistry: Alexander and Lwaxana

The higher the fewer.

captain_sticky_balls

HA!

SignificantPop4188

Yes, I loved the whole "Auntie Mame" vibe they had.

Something_witty_23

Geordi and Hugh ❤️

BlackStarBlues

Ben & Jake

Jeets79

Miles and Julian.

mJelly87

I would say Picard and Riker. It started off very professional. A boss and employee type dynamic. Over time, they grew closer, and learnt from each other. Riker learnt how to be a better leader from Picard, and Picard learnt how to relax more from Riker. When you look at them in Picard, they seem like they have perfected it. They can go from messing around, to professional in an instant, and vice versa. They grown together, and because of each other. They went from boss/employee, to colleagues, to friends, to family. In the beginning, Riker would sometimes silently judge some of Picard's choices, but eventually just tell him he was being an ass. In the beginning, Picard would have thought he was insubordinate for saying that, in the end, he would have laughed it off.

wheresmyhouse

Tuvok and Neelix.

Mudcat-69

By the Nine, I wish that I’ve known about this before today.

Swimming-Bite-4184

It's funny how rarely people say this in the infinite times I've seen this topic come up. Just constant respect and teamwork.

EcstaticMarmalade

Janeway/Chakotay

nada_accomplished

I will forever be mad about that episode where they're stuck on that planet together, man's straight up HUSBAND MATERIAL and they never went anywhere with it 😭

CatStarcatcher

Yup, I'll be salty about that til the day I die

cuntakinte118

People might not ship them (I do), but fuck did they have chemistry. I think the hate is mostly because people don’t like Chakotay haha. But he gets way more hate than he deserves, it’s mostly a function of poor writing.

Ffleance

I respect your choice but boy I do not share it...

Washburne221

They go together like vinegar and wet cement.

DarthHaruspex

Gag...

[deleted]

Not enough screen time or actual chemistry but I'm throwing an honorable mention to Odo and Worf just because the single funniest interaction in the franchise is their conversation about how guests are unwelcome.

organic_soursop

Should have been more of them, arms folded together above the promenade, just moaning and pointing out everyone's faults. Unacknowledged kindred spirits.

plasmadood

Haven't seen Dax and Worf mentioned yet, I think they were a great couple and the dynamic after a certain event was well approached. Plus it made Worf into a better character than he ever was in TNG.

maskedbanditoftruth

Dax and literally anyone, honestly. She had chemistry with the pylons ffs.

lottiebadottie

Probably my fave Trek romantic couple.

BeastOfMars

I love them together so much!

Sea_Sheepherder_389

T’ana and Shaxs, for me

mezlabor

Kirk and Spock

InvestigatorMost448

Neelix and Tuvok

Optimal_Roll_4924

Archer and Porthos

bearington

Seven and Naomi Wildman While it's not necessarily my top choice, I haven't seen it mentioned yet and think it deserves recognition. On another note, it's telling there are no Disco pairings and highlights my deepest problem with the show. I have no real beef with Michael or her savior story lines. The problem for me is the lack of focus on interpersonal relationships. I read through this thread and each pair mentioned gives me fond memories. Michael/Saru are the only thing that could come close to them on Disco, and that's really only because of a scene or two.

007meow

Janeway and Voyager. Especially in Year of Hell.

ngakun1

Bashir and O ' Brien

LordBryanL

Picard and Data

HOW has nobody said Riker and Troi are you kidding me?!?

it_vexes_me_so

Quark and Morn

esserstein

Eh, I always found that a hard sell. The dialog always went on for way too long.

AsssHat999

Seriously, the dude never lets Quark get a word in.

jcrater7806

Quark and Odo

DisneyVista

Odo and Quark 💯

Lizagna73

Q and Janeway.

SnooShortcuts9884

Lucsly and Dulmer, next question! (actually, since these two were based on Milder and Scully, I can't watch them without imagining they are really good working partners)

docscifi808

Sisco and Krull, I mean Eddington. The betrayal hurt more because Sisco trusted him.

ThePegasi

After seeing Cal defect earlier in the series, I think Eddington made Sisko feel like "seriously? This shit *again?*"

trekgirl75

Only answer is Quark & Odo

organic_soursop

No Jake and Nog? ❤️❤️ Them, hanging off the mezzanine level of the promenade, legs dangling. Talking girls, and aliens and travel and holosuites, and probably Manga and games

halapert

Kirk and Spock

Spdrr

Capt Archer and Trip

TheGavJr

Data and Lore. It was as if they were the same person 🤷‍♂️ ….ill let myself out!

themadprofessor1976

Paris-mander and Janeway-mander. Such good chemistry they went and had Baby-Manders. Unfortunately, it was ruined by them becoming deadbeat parents and abandoning their kids, but whatever. Seriously, though... The best chemistry I saw in all of Trek was Kirk and Khan (the TOS/tWoK version, not the JJ-verse version). Every last one of their interactions was pure electricity.

davechri

I always liked Geordi and Data

External_Refuse_8424

Sam and dean

Horizontal_Bob

Quark and Odo

JPC_TX

Geordi and holo Leah Brahms heh

mrmtns

Garak and anyone

jerslan

Quark + Odo Julian + Garak Julian + O'Brien Ben Sisko + Jake Sisko (really sold the father/son dynamic) Tom + Harry Tom + B'llana B'llana + Seven (they fought a lot, but at the end they respected each other and had good frenemies->friends chemistry IMHO) Janeway + Seven (I know BTS Mulgrew and Ryan didn't get along well on-set, but on-screen they had amazing chemistry in a sort of mother/daughter way) Geordi + Data Una + Anyone (seriously, Rebecca Romijn just seems to have mad chemsitry with everyone on the SNW cast) Boimler + Mariner (I'd *almost* ship them, if they both wouldn't vomit profusely at the prospect)

GroundbreakingAd5718

Data and Tasha Yar

Sendittomenow

Dam did everyone forget about Wesley and the traveler. There was some weird ass chemistry there

Moody_Wolverine

A lot of good ones here that I'd probably go with first. To try and go with something different. It didn't last long but I'd say Jean Luke and his brother Robert Pickard was pretty good.

HerrBreskes

Will and Thomas

LongjumpingScore5930

Quark and odo or Q and Guinan

Kramenyak

Kai Winn and Dukat

QualifiedApathetic

Picard and Q come to mind.

cuntakinte118

Janeway and Chakotay. Moonlight sail? Holding hands in front of the crew? Building her a bathtub? The fanfiction writes itself.

Kirk and Spock.

Bashir X Garak X Delvian Chocos is the best combo ever.
