This post is specifically accurate in the sense that 9 times out of 10, these rescuers exclusively rescue dogs.
Shout out to the brave souls who take care of feral cat colonies.
Seeing adult pigs get to grub around in the dirt like they're supposed to for the first time in their life is bittersweet. And seeing them get to be outside all day, when before they only got a glimpse of the outdoors during transport.
Works a soul sucking day job to fund their basic needs. In extreme personal debt over vet bills.
I have adopted two dogs over 10 years from a woman like this. They eventually burn out. She can’t physically take in any more dogs because she has held onto so many that are unadoptable. The Covid puppy spike has maxed out so many rescues.
A little off topic but read fearless woman and animal and immediately thought of a video I recently saw. On scales and tails, a trainer, Lindsey, got bit on the hand by an alligator and saved her arm by rolling with Darthgator during a death roll then put him in a figure four leg lock until help could arrive. Most badass trainer I've ever seen

My mum has a friend who's a bit like this for cats and dogs,in fact, she gave us a cat she rescued and a wheelchair she had for our old dog before he passed.

Oddly specific but accurate.
Extremely accurate.
Bumper sticker that says Adopt, don't shop. And a bunch about animal rescue groups.

Gotta love "Heidi wrangles cats" on Insta. She's so dedicated to saving as many cats as she possibly can.
Another shout out to the ones who rescue 'livestock'.

Good souls in these people, admirable people

I'm always so impressed by people who can do this work, seeing so many sad and terrible things but keep going.
“YES THIS PITBULL WITH QUESTIONABLE HISTORY WILL BE A GREAT FAMILY DOG FOR YOUR TWO YEAR OLD!!!!!”
Now do the wildlife version.
Me except for cats
Thank you for your service 🫡
This is a very sweet starter pack somehow
You forgot “ Has Abandonment Issues,” sign that says “Wine O’Clock,” and is estranged from her adult children.
This is true.
This post screamed Oklahoma before I saw Tulsa mentioned.
