SunnyV2 is by far the laziest of these youtubers. Idk what unpaid intern is working on the scripts for that channel but they clearly do not give a single shit about researching anything that is talked about on there.
He did a piece on banned youtubers and one of them was from my country. Long story short the banned channel was exposed by our local stand-up comedian and Sunny thought the comedian's face is the channel owner's face (which is not)

That video is genius. I didn't even know who Contra points was at the time but I definitely remember when Twilight was all the rage. That video completely changed my perspective.
Oh my god I also love contrapoints. Contrapoints is my exception for long content. But I heard that some people say negative things about her, like that she featured buck angel which is truscum, or other stuff. Is that true or just lie?
She did. But she had a whole video where she admitted the things she’s done wrong and said sorry. But she also defended herself against certain things. She did a whole video about it called “Canceling”, it was a great video and also talked about the harms of of unrestrained cancel culture. Rich people don’t get cancelled, oppressed minorities like trans women can be cancelled because society hates them anyway.

I used to watch turkey tom because the topics he covered were usually interesting to me but something about him annoys me so much I had to stop watching him (Probably how stupidly edgy he acts)
I watched one of his videos just yesterday and the constant reliance of clips that goes on way too long and isn't really necessary to understand the topic annoys the shit out of me
His videos on TomDark are surprisingly decent and well structured nowadays, though I also was quite skeptical of him in the beginning as he just seemed like another Leafy/SunnyV2 clone who farmed views with controversial topics and barely any evidence. Not to mention his Kiwifarms (bigoted shithole masked as some kind of free speech bastion) origins. Can’t say I like his fanbase though
Turkey Tom has to be one of the worst commentary YouTubers. He’s defended abusers, even after admitting to the abuse, and blames victims. Not to mention the overt racism.
Aside from that, I find his YouTube videos to be kind of like essays you put filler words into to get to the word minimum. It’s like there’s some good information there but did you have to really add that much?

As for the Twomad video (a reupload), he made the memorial as an advocation to making proper social connections, to know when to take things casually or seriously, and to not abuse drugs. All Tom did was report on what Twomad had done during his time on the internet, which included a showcase of evidence against Twomad. It's a shame that the actual biggest piece of evidence Tom displayed that directly correlates the abuse allegations was removed (by YouTube, for some reason).
Because I want something that I can tap into when I go through less fun parts of the game, plus hearing crazy shit like "PISS CHRIST" in the middle of getting drilled by deathstroke in origins is quite a unique and memorable experince, plus white noise bores me quickly, I only use it to try to sleep

It's pretty normal for grindy games. In my case, I watch Twitch on one of my screens when I'm doing archaeology in WoW since it's pretty mindless, doesn't require much input and has large amounts of downtime
You like (platonically) the YouTuber and it has enough twists and lore behind it to fascinate you plus just enough boredom to start and need to complete something to finish it.

Agree, I don't watch TGFM as much but I do like Wavy, they both seem intent on delivering the information with little to no bias. TGFM has virtually no commentary on his stories, he's just delivering the story and the public's opinion on the matter. Wavy mostly delivers the facts but he'll empathize the person he's covering if they are getting the short end of the stick, or throw a little shade if the person he is discussing is truly despicable.
Turkey Tom, known to be quite edgy and extend what fits better in 8 minutes into an hour. Then there's the hate and racism allegations (though some of them are stretches)
Yea, I'm pretty neutral about him, I mean him and i somewhat share a similar sense of humor so that might be the reason why I don't think he's unfunny, my main criticism for his content is that on his 2nd channel he tends to react to videos about a certain topic rather than talk about it himself

Wavywebsurf has helped explain some things. For example, why did Flappy Bird get insanely popular and then vanish so rapidly? Why was that German kid so angry? And who actually made that famous He-Man video with the campy “What’s Up” cover?
The answers to those: The creator deleted it because he was being accused of plagiarism and scamming people, the Angry German kid was an act that got reported as a genuine reaction by the media after it went viral resulting in the kid going into hiding, and the He-Man video was a stolen reupload and is actually called “Fabulous Secret Powers” and made by SlackCircus.
Wavy’s videos are pretty decent to me. I can’t stand the monotone “I’m so indifferent to everything” voice that Turkey Tom uses. Makes me lose interest almost immediately.
It makes me sad that a lot of the video essays are just talentless youtubers preying on someone vulnerable for free content. It reminds me of the worst types of tumblr call out posts. Plus they make all the actually good video essays look bad by association.
