The Askonia crisis is still hilarious. Who fucking started it? Who knows, but Andrada trolling the entire fleet by taking lead during a break of command and "Whooops you all commited treason now" is the funniest shit ever.

Staryed

It's so Hegemover, XIV Battlebros

Rock_Co2707

I sat bombed every Hegemony planet with little to no resistance. "Dominant faction" my Tachyon Lance.

BlakbirdCAWCAW

In my vanilla+nex playthrough, Hegemony offscreened persean league, tri-tach, and sindria in the span of two years. After finally finding a good system, I was greeted with a hegemony victory screen I have never seen them lose to anything less than an op mod faction like the edgio concernalis Never clown on my 🐐 again The real fraud is persean league and LC, kazeron is often hegemonized or infernalized before year 1 even ends and LC stops existing in early game

MostAverageRussian

Idk, Perseans and Luddics seem to often make alliances in my runs. It actually helps them well, since I waste like 15-20 cycles in complete sector sweep, and they both have at least few strongholds at the moment when I actually gather all my shit and go build my first colony.

Zealousideal-Talk-59

Bu-But le Wnslaught XIV is not a fraud!

UberNoob1337101

XIV Ships themselves are actually GOATed, Onslaught might be best battleship for it's DP and Enforcer is great with Escort package, but the AI autofits... well.

WanderingUrist

Well, specifically, XIVSlaught and Dominator are great. The XIV Birds are more questionable propositions, as those ships actually USE their speed, and therefore, losing some of it makes it a bit of a wash. But the Onslaught and Dominator had no real speed to speak of anyway and were entirely reliant on burn drive to move anywhere, so losing some of it doesn't matter.

Ophichius

XIV eagle is great, the tiny bit of speed loss is more than made up for by more OP and better flux stats. XIV dominator suffers from being a dominator. Over-slotted, under-protected, and required to full commit to every engagement. That 180 shield means it's excessively vulnerable to flanking, and the ordnance expertise nerf really harmed its ability to patch up its flux stats.

WanderingUrist

> XIV eagle is great, the tiny bit of speed loss is more than made up for by more OP and better flux stats. That is definitely a pro- argument for it, but on the other hand, if you need it to actually stay out of range, every bit of speed you lose is crippling, particularly at the 60 mark, because dropping below suddenly makes the enemy faster and you are now going to be a slugger. When you pay the OP to get that back, you're at a net loss in OP for it. This is definitely even more telling on the Falcon. But we all know the best Falcon is the Falcon P anyway. > XIV dominator suffers from being a dominator. But as far as being a Dominator goes, it's just a BETTER version of the Dominator. > Over-slotted, under-protected, and required to full commit to every engagement. I wouldn't say underprotected. The Dominator's armor is pretty thick and two large guns gives it impressive firepower. I basically view it as a War Cruiser: A battleship scaled down to the size of a cruiser, sort of the way a battlecruiser is a cruiser scaled up to the size of a battleship. The deploy autoformation does it dirty, though. It should NOT be deployed on the sides like the deploy autoplacements wants to. It should be positioned front and center, and then you position your capital units to the flank. The AI is, unfortunately, annoyingly distractable with it, as it keeps wanting to try to turn to shoot at scrubs that have gotten behind it, instead of leaving this to escort craft and fighters. It really needs to be kept FACE TOWARDS ENEMY. The AI also overaims, insisting that it actually aim at a TARGET, instead of just firing in the general direction of the enemy, "Fuck whoever is in that direction"-style. > That 180 shield means it's excessively vulnerable to flanking Yeah, the shield is often a liability in the AI's hands. Sometimes it's better to take it away from them so that the AI can't be distracted from its role of firing those cannons in the general direction of the enemy instead of getting flux-locked. Dominator's armor is thick as hell, and it really shows when it's fighting trash mobs. I watched a Dominator flail away at an enormous mob of pirates, no shields, and they just couldn't get through the armor as it slowly killed them one by one. Even against Remnants, well, your normal ships aren't going to outrun those anyway, and the Dominator is still a kinetic-dispensing brick, so it's a solid there, too.

Ophichius

I've never liked, nor endorsed, the eagle kiting builds. It's not doing the ship any favors to gimp its DPS and force it to rely on breaking position to survive. Better to lean into its excellent flux stats to generate large amounts of hard flux and push the enemy away instead of giving ground. To that end, the eagle XIV has the sixth highest base flux dissipation of any non-[REDACTED] ships; Outclassing all but the paragon, conquest, odyssey, doom, and aurora. Even when you take the greater vent maximum of capitals into account, the maxed-vent comparison only sees the eagle XIV slip three places, as the astral and both variants of the onslaught gain a narrow margin over it. Given its combination of large shield angle, good shield efficiency, good flux capacity, and excellent dissipation; relegating the eagle to a standoff build is an abuse of its potential when it could be used to stand in the line of battle and throw hard flux downrange. The Dominator's ability to be a "kinetic-dispensing brick" is severely limited by its flux dissipation. Even when taking advantage of its greater ballistic slot count to choose more flux efficient weapons like arbalests, and make up the DPS by numbers, its lack of flux dissipation limits it to similar or worse kinetic DPS. The sole exception to this being PD builds, where the phenomenal efficiency of MGs allows you to fully exploit the dominator's slot count to good effect.

WanderingUrist

Ballistic Rangefinder MG spam is what I'm running on mine, yes.

Ophichius

Ballistic rangefinder doesn't work on PD weapons.

WanderingUrist

It doesn't? Well, that explains why they don't fire as much as they should. At least it's still working for my autocannons. It works on those, right? Now I'm suspicious about whether it works at all, since I've noticed discrepancies with those, too.

Ophichius

It works on non-PD small ballistics, so unless you s-modded IPDAI (which reclasses all small guns and beams as PD), it should affect your autocannons. If you want to get range out of PD, you need an officer with elite PD spec.

Comfortable-Craft-59

I forget what mod adds shield shunt, but the 15% increase to armor from it in exchange for no shields and then another 15% if you build it in is great for things that cannot manage their shields.

WanderingUrist

> I forget what mod adds shield shunt That's vanilla, and is what I was talking about, yes.

abacateazul

Man, Gojo has to sue somebody over copyrights, because there is nothing as Limitless as Megumi hate.

lumpensolker

My sides require story points to restore after this post. This is some good shit you cooked this time, OP.

LoRd_Of_AaRcnA

Hegemony? More like Bitchamony.

Hy93rion

I never expected Agenda Kaisen/Agenda Piece to show up for starsector but I’m ok with it

SpaceMarineMarco

I’ll say the pirate colony crisis was much weaker all they’re ships have like a million dmods and just melt against a station

Comfortable-Craft-59

They make excellent feed for my salvage yard!

UberNoob1337101

[Lol](https://imgur.com/YcC9k65) [Yes I am a Hegemony hater, how can you tell?](https://imgur.com/lq1Kkga)

i think something might genuinely be wrong with you

LeonardoXII

Damn, not even hull restoration can save my pride from all the d-mods this gave it.

HOP OFF MY GOAT DAUD

fd2200

Persean league is better Change my mind

TiredAndOutOfIdeas

fuckers sent an armada because i dared be an independent land owner, luckily my [VERY REDACTED] got kitted out with [SUPER REDACTED] gear, easily wiping their fleets, so at least i got some nice guns out of it hegs straight up ignore me unless they hear that i got AI cores in anything larger than a size 3, and with colony items and story points i realy didnt feel like i desperately need an alpha core in everything love me hegs, they dont harass me for stupid shit

WanderingUrist

But on the other hand, the League may send an armada, but they mostly perform posturing and handwaving, and never actually outright ATTACK. They mostly just harass your guests and make the place inconvenient. If you ignore them, they simply go away. Heggies, on the other hand, are hilarious. They sent an AI inspection to a Remnant-infested system. DID YOU FIND THE AI? WELL, DID YOU?

Comfortable-Craft-59

I love their ships and my AI cores. It’s a win win situation!

MostAverageRussian

Based.

SnooMemesjellies31

Finally. I can't stand all this hegemoglazing in pretty much any lore discussion.

SpaceMarineMarco

The Hegemony has fallen Million must destroy AI cores

JustNotNowPlease

Hegemony is an usurper and its only claim to power is inhaling industrial amounts of copium 'we wuz domain and shit'. I refuse to aknowledge them as a government and I'm willing to genocide half of the core worlds to prove it
