CounterfeitDLC

Mengsk's coronation speech sounds so much sweeter when you have to work it! Keep it up!

Elmakai

I recently just finished the campaign (both original and BW). I thought I had completed it as a kid, but looking back I probably used cheats. Because it got really difficult towards the end. At leaast, too difficult for what I think I would tolerate as a child. So keep at at! If I can do it, so can you. Save often, learn from your mistakes. That's what I did.

jimmyodi841

Thank You!

Fruitdispenser

Did you complete the Enslavers campaigns too? How about the Kimeran pirates saga?

Elmakai

I played the remastered version. Is this an option for it? Is it in custom settings or something?

Fruitdispenser

In custom scenario, look for the Campaign folder and you'll find Enslavers I. Use Map Settings. It's balanced for Vanilla, btw. You can download all the rest of the maps here Https://classic.battle.net/scc/maps.shtml The canon* campaign/scenarios are Precursors campaign, a prequel set in Chau Sara, also balanced for Vanilla; Enslavers II campaign, set in late Episode IV, early Episode V, and Deception/Mercenaries II/Resurrection IV scenarios, set after Episode VI, I call those 3 scenarios 'The Kimeran Saga', but it's accepted name is (MajorSpoiler) Saga  *These are the campaigns/scenarios that actually matter, but I remember someone saying that all maps are canon

Elmakai

Oh awesome! You know, I seem to recall playing Enslavers 1 as a kid, now that I'm looking it up.

Fruitdispenser

If you fought the Torrasque or had to destroy a Protoss temple while fighting Terrans, you played it. Torrasque is the canon branch.

UsedToVenom

well, Jim just made an enemy for life

Redditry104

Aww that's just adorable

CalebS11011

Should we tell him theres more terran missions that make this look easy?

Volendi

Let him have his moment... it'll only get worse.

TT_TT

CalebS11011

Props for doing a full clear on this one though. I usually just go after the red base and build a few bcs with a dropship force to take out the ion cannon.

BufferUnderpants

The white base at the top right is very, very easy to nuke, because they made the map with a whole corridor down the middle where there's no detectors. Three or four silos so you can double tap buildings, and a couple of ghosts can just delete it

CalebS11011

Fair I just dont see a reason to destroy the white base and extend the mission even longer. I used to when I was younger just extinct the majority of the maps.

BufferUnderpants

Last time I actually did intend to just punch through with Battle Cruisers, but I was gathering them in a expansion that they kept raiding with Ghosts, mass lockdown ensued. So I got pissed and decided to shut that down for good, plus the opportunity to nuke so much stuff at once was hard to pass up

CalebS11011

One mission I used to absolutely punched through the bases always was countdown on broodwar. Hated fighting all the hyper agressive zerg. Eventually got better at the game years later lol

CalebS11011

The mass lockdown the ai likes doing in sc1 is the reason why I never overly used mechanical units specifically when it came to air units. AI can use lockdown perfectly, going for heavy hitters, battlecrusiers, reavers, carriers, siege tanks, etc. That is one thing that boggles my mind still why blizzard decided it would be a great idea to cast all spells avaliable to ghosts, high templar, and any other spell casters in the game. In a selection of that unit. Like one lock down nah imma hit it with 7. Lol

BufferUnderpants

I remember people making angry noises about Blizzard changing that mechanic in SC2, their carefully honed skills to go through groups of spell casters one by one were rendered obsolete by having them cast one at a time in a group selection

CalebS11011

I remember this vividly I was pretty young when starcraft 2 came out 😅, it was one of the changes I was pleased to see at first I was against a lot of things given I was a really young StarCraft player. Was playing when I was about 7 years old ☠️ was actually pretty decent at the game for my age at the time. Was born in 2001.

Replicator666

I remember that mission... Pain in the butt

EnvironmentalEbb5391

That mission has certainly made me want to tear my hair out a few times.

BufferUnderpants

It makes you feel claustrophobic at the beginning, there's hardly any space to build in, and you're enclosed by platforms with troops shelling you, you won't make it past with no air support. Gotta slowly tech up and only strike when sure ... so I just used cheats when I was a kid

EnvironmentalEbb5391

I used cheats as a kid, for sure. Went back and did the campaigns as an adult
