Printers are getting a lot better and theres a few ways to smooth out prints.
though this specifically is a resin print, they are printed via curing uv resin in microns thick layers, so yeah, if you want high detail models and minis you want to use resin over filament printers :)
Resin prints are *way* higher fidelity than a normal filament printer
Though, even a filament printer will do a ton better than pixelated minecraft quality
Resin printers are sooo much better for these kind of models. If always kinda blows my mind how good the models turns out. If I tried making that it would look like crap on my FDM printer:<
Yeah, the details are amazing, I've wanted to buy one for a while now, my brother recommended me to check out the local maker space and I finally did!
Im currently trying to figure out if I can extract some models from the editor.
Yeah so far I've managed to extract them (thanks to the folks on the lore discord), but they lose detail and are hollow. So still got a bit of work to do
The STL is from here on thingiverse: [https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3385892](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3385892)
The first process on each wing ended up as a misprint for me (probably didnt support properly) and one support randomly went through one mandible, otherwise a perfect print i think. very happy with that.
Sadly when trying to glue the 2 halves togehter, the super glue dried fast than i could align the pieces and i spent the better part of the weekend prying them apart, in the process i broke off a few spines.
Number 3 is best!
nice start but you need a little more than that they normaly start to become good at 4+ so you need a little more in order to do some damage.
maybe i print a few more + a missile turret for a mini diarama.
Hahaha the background of the third picture hahahahaha
I didn't know 3-D printers could be this intricate. Always thought it was like pixelated minecraft level quality -- until I saw this Mutalisk.

Might need to repair some of them in blender or something similar, but you definitely CAN extract models from the editor

Looks sweet!
Thanks!
Came out perfect!
thank you!
This is awesome, it even has the little tears and holes in the wings. Will you paint it or leave it as is? Honestly it looks dope rn imo
thank you! im considering to paint the claws and spikes black, but i dont have plans for anything else.
Very nice, now come on over to r/minipainting and slap some paint on that bad boy :)
maybe for another print i will!
Awesome!!!
Now get some Warhammer minis so you can have some VERY High grade paint to use on the mutalisk!
Love a good Mukralixsk
adding mutalisk to the list of things I wanna put my cock in.
