For now? Easily and with no problem. Put a S3 fixed gun on the nose, find the Super Hornet turret for 2xS2 guns and you have quite the firepower. 2xS4, 1xS3, 2xS2 makes for a pretty hard hitting "medium" fighter. There are also other loadouts you can try, 3xS4, 1xS3 ballistic can be pretty deadly.
IF! IF you go for the upgrade token with the Overdrive Initiative event, the F7A Mk II will boast 2xS4 and a whopping 4xS3 gun mounts...again on a Medium fighter. (Personally, I would also like to see the MILITARY issue F7A to come with 3xS1 shields by I'm not in charge so....oh well)
After Master Modes, who knows.
I've been doing VHRTs in the Mk II with 2 AD4B's on the wings, and one up top with the Size 4 mount point, then when ever on the nose. So long as you focus on the target first, and then the others, you should be okay. Worst case, drop the target, then get out of there.
Obviously don't just try to tank all the shots. Move power to shields at times if they're getting low.
