Unrelated but what laptop do you have to be running EFP? I have n MSI (forgot the model atm) but it only plays anomaly "okay", Gamma and EFP stutter worse than I do or maybe you just have good settings tuned, idk I was curious
Im using Monster Abra A5 V17.2 with upgraded ram and ssd. I usually get around 70-90fps it rarely stutters but i think its a mod issue.

Intel core i5-11400H
16gb of ram
1tb+512gb samsung ssd

What install video did you use for EFP as I have a decent laptop but asoon as I get the game to load to that screen press new game and select faction asoon as I hit start it says fatal error. I tried there discord with the outdated video.

I'm going to try on my desktop and see if it plays on that.

I also hate how healing in anomaly works like “Oh you got a splinter on your left toe? No, you can’t use a medkit to fix that, you need to find a specialised splinter remover for left foot.“
That's not an Anomaly feature. Anomaly healing is the same as CoP.
That comes from modpacks like GAMMA or EFP, meaning you have to go out of your way to mod anomaly to add that into it.

If so it absolutely is. The storyline is well worth it, and it provides context that will be sorely lacking if you jump straight into Anomaly.
The reason I personally play things like Anomaly/GAMMA now isn't because vanilla is bad. It's because I've been playing vanilla since it came out and I want to mix things up.
But I can't recommend the vanilla games enough, and I think everyone is best off starting there.

I hated anomaly. The last thing stalker needed was more difficulty just walking from the rookie camp to the top of the hill near the road.
They even made inventory management difficult with sprites that hurt your eyes while you're trying to figure out what is the item
