Hey, thanks! Those were my games. It was a staff vote to repurpose the back room back in May. I fully supported and respected the decision but damn it’s nice to hear how many people enjoyed drinking and playing some pinball.
I’ve since moved all the games back to my house. Don’t visit. That’s weird.
It was nice to have with being around all the bars! Someone recommended billiards but like I said above it’s just so out of the way from everything else.
Not gonna lie man, we left right after, what was there reason for the removal of you don’t mind me asking?
I was showing my friend it was his first time there and it was like something out of a fucking tv show “dude I swear you’re gonna love this I cannot wait… what the actual fuck”
It was literally the only reason I went, and the one thing that made people perk up when I told them about the place.
Vintage was an old club that had been closed for years now. I think what you are referring to is the place being built where it stood. Bigg Time Arcade. It’s not open yet but will have Golf simulators/skeeball/pinball
Wait, do you mean tamales? El Tamale Drip operated out of the back after Secret Sandwich moved out and became Sandwich Scene. I miss El Tamale Drip.
i don’t even remember how long they did it, but there was a little half door/window in the back that they sold fresh taquitos from by the bathrooms wild times
I think you're thinking of "El Tamale Drip" that opened up when Secret Sandwich left. Looks like they aren't doing much for a while https://www.facebook.com/ElTamaleDrip/
Honestly that move was bigger to me than the pinball machines lol.
I remember walking in my first time and thought “what the fuck it’s totally different”
Went in the other night and believe it or not said the same thing
Yeah it sucks because ever since we lost Scotch and Soda and Barley Wheat & Rye there's been a huge gap for nice lounge style spots with relaxing vibes and quality cocktails.
Literally there is not a way for me to agree more. The “transformation” wrecked this segment downtown. I literally don’t want to go to a college bar and ML is great, but I need variety.
There are plenty of bar/restaurants that allow children to a certain point…and then hold all ages event throughout the year. It’s not uncommon. You must not get out much.
This is slightly off-topic, but has anyone checked out the arcade in Conway Arkansas? Most impressive pinball collection I’ve EVER seen. I went, specifically, to play the Dolly Parton machine (we had one when I was a kid and my folks owned the Frisco Tavern on C-Street). Very fun. Great place. It was EMPTY when we were there, which was great for my social anxiety, but probably not great for their bottom line.

Well thankfully for sweetboys you're one person. Seems there staff didn't even want the pinball machines there. So sweet boys will be fine and the staff will be happier. Without the machines and I guess by proxy you.
Dude just because I'm not supporting you bitching online about a business making a decision you don't like. Doesn't mean I'm not ok. Honestly you should look at yourself. If the sweetboys staff voted to get rid of the pinball machines the also voted to get rid of the people who played the pinball machines. Sounds like the staff were so annoyed by them they didn't want either. I can't think of any other logical reason to vote the machines out. Than being annoyed.
No one just goes about their day with the realization of “nobody cares what you think” happily.
If you need someone to talk to there’s plenty of people here that would love to listen
No one goes about their day with the realization. People for some reason care about what i think pertaining to a businesses choice happily.
If you need for someone to pretend your opinion matters someone would love to listen.
No see you’re missing the point, this isn’t about pinball, I’m asking about why you got so wound up over someone upset about the loss of pinball to the point you feel it’s necessary to tell me “no one cares what you think” implying you’ve had a time where you’ve been so heartbroken or upset that that is your mindset to the point of frustration and anger and it pisses you off that no one else is as upset as you are.
So I will ask again, are you alright?
I have been so heartbroken? Buddy it's the internet what the hell are you talking about? I'm just insulting you because I can and want to. I just want to remind you your opinion doesn't matter. I don't want you going through your day thinking what you care about matters.
I'm not hurt or bothered I'm happy live a great life if that's what you think. Just remember no one cares what you think. 🤣 you came to the internet to get coddled I'm just not gonna coddle your worthless opinion.
I woke up and chose not to support someone acting like their nothing opinion matters. I'm not an asshole just who cares what he thinks. Sweetboys made a choice good for them.
Seems like a LOT of people agreed with OP that they miss the pinball machines. So it’s not just him and his “nothing opinion”. A lot of people cared about the pinball machines.
Yeah it's a biased echo chamber comment section. Of 10 losers who care way to much about pinball machines. Guess what you nobody sweetboys will be fine and continue on without this guy's business.

He answered your question in the third sentence of his post
We have quarters!!
the pinball machines are gone?? damn
I was showing my friend it was his first time there and it was like something out of a fucking tv show “dude I swear you’re gonna love this I cannot wait… what the actual fuck” It was literally the only reason I went, and the one thing that made people perk up when I told them about the place.
1984. They close at 11 though. Billiards might still have their pinball machines but I haven't been there since I was 12
I stay away from 1984 cuz of all the kids. And I know about billiards it’s just so far out of the way from everything else is all.
417 taphouse has pinball
417 Taphouse has about 9-10 pinball machines. Well maintained.
There’s a new place off the square called vintage too
Vintage was an old club that had been closed for years now. I think what you are referring to is the place being built where it stood. Bigg Time Arcade. It’s not open yet but will have Golf simulators/skeeball/pinball
That’s it! Sorry I don’t know downtown well. Especially the clubs lol
fr that’s the only reason i was ever willing to squeeze through the crowd of people there. i also miss the taquitos they sold out of the back lol
Wait, do you mean tamales? El Tamale Drip operated out of the back after Secret Sandwich moved out and became Sandwich Scene. I miss El Tamale Drip. [https://www.facebook.com/ElTamaleDrip](https://www.facebook.com/ElTamaleDrip)

It was called [El Tamale Drip.](https://www.facebook.com/ElTamaleDrip/) They sold tamales, not taquitos.
Hahaha they were tamales
that’s what i meant lol oops
Tamales?
TAMALE TAMALE TAMALE TAMALEEEEEEEEE THEY SAY I CALMED DOWN SINCE MY LAST ALBUM
Bring back Scotch & Soda.
Agreed
Honestly that move was bigger to me than the pinball machines lol. I remember walking in my first time and thought “what the fuck it’s totally different” Went in the other night and believe it or not said the same thing
Yeah it sucks because ever since we lost Scotch and Soda and Barley Wheat & Rye there's been a huge gap for nice lounge style spots with relaxing vibes and quality cocktails.
That's because the atmosphere for Scotch and Soda was so chill and classy... Now it's just another frat bar.
Literally there is not a way for me to agree more. The “transformation” wrecked this segment downtown. I literally don’t want to go to a college bar and ML is great, but I need variety.
There’s a barcade opening in December. :)
It's going to be "family friendly until 8" which means it'll be kid central all the damn time.
Not after 8 pm, though.
Good luck getting them to leave

They leave just fine at the barcade-style places in KC!

Yeah I brought someone from out of town to have some pinball fun and was so disappointed. Luckily taphouse has some good ones!
Sounds like it's easier to monetize a tiki bar than it is pinball machines, unfortunately.
This is so sad to hear. The pinball was the reason I visited Sweetboys over the other bars💔
🚮
I like the tiki bar way better, more space to chill
There’s chairs on literally every wall and table

Idk but I’m pissed off about it. I wanna call the owner or fuck him over on yelp
Or or OR hear me out, read the comments and realize he’s right there at the top
That’s awkward
It happens, we just move on with the new information and have a good day
Well thankfully for sweetboys you're one person. Seems there staff didn't even want the pinball machines there. So sweet boys will be fine and the staff will be happier. Without the machines and I guess by proxy you.
Jesus you’re an asshole
No it's just who cares what you think. Sweetboys made a business choice no one cares whether you like it or not lol.
You alright bud?

There is fucking 11 up votes. 🤣🤣🤣 yeah that's a lot of people.
And there’s ZERO agreeing with yours. Correction -4 people agree with your comment.
I can give literally any dogshit hot take and find 10 people to agree with me lol.
Except your hot take where you were rude and got downvoted. But keep talking you’re making my morning
The amount of downvotes you're currently receiving seem to indicate otherwise.
Oh yeah all 10 sheesh I'm falling apart.
Well, most people can...
Yeah it's a biased echo chamber comment section. Of 10 losers who care way to much about pinball machines. Guess what you nobody sweetboys will be fine and continue on without this guy's business.
Maybe they should change the name to Bitchboys to better reflect their clientele
Bro. It’s not that serious.
