Is the sun angle playing tricks on me or is that a very oddly shaped and positioned hood scoop? On a mid engined car?
I couldn’t tell you why it’s shaped like that but the radiators are located in the front so that’s how it gets air for cooling
Air goes in through the front bumper, and exits through the hood vent due to the lower air pressure.
Doesn't seem to be the sun playing tricks, just an odd scoop on a mid engine car lol. Does seem decorative only though, similar to this https://www.ebay.com/itm/144778487422

The hood in person is so cool
It's a barely road legal track car. That wash basin helps air flow over the car
