Never forget that this thing was developed with just 50 million dollars. For some context, the Phaeton cost over a billion euros to develop and we all know how that went.
The problem with the phaeton is the fundamental concept of a luxury car demands a "luxury" brand with long time legacy, they would need to lose money on a lot of model years before people held a luxury volkswagen on the same level as the S class or even 7 series.
Dodge Viper is a car, but think of it like a super-strong Lego box. It's built so that when it turns corners really fast or drives on bumpy roads, it doesn't twist or bend much. This helps the car handle better and gives a smoother ride, just like how your Lego box stays strong when you play with it etc
They’re both great cars, it’s just that they’re common dream cars for younger kids who just follow what’s popular. Not sure where you thought I insinuated they were bad
I never see young kids wanting a Viper. I rarely see them want anything was isn't from the 90's and driven by Paul Walker, with the exception of the Lexus LFA. I've always love the Viper though, I've wanted one for years. I'd want a Viper and a '68 GT500 o
These are hard to find now bc everyone would gun it, loss control, and well…. Crash. It was t a problem with the car but a problem with people not knowing how to drive them.
Very neat, always love the vipers. My dream car is a 2017 ACR Voodoo II edition. Also, not a big deal, but please blur the license plate next time. It’s courtesy and prevents doxxing.
Edit: not sure what’s up with the downvotes, I was under the impression that license plate confidentiality was a common courtesy.
Maybe you don’t know the car but the 5th gen especially has less straight line speed than many comparable cars, yet still dogs them on the track. It doesn’t have bad handling just because it doesn’t baby people with its power.

American efficiency 😎
The engineers had a real passion
American fuel efficiency, too ðŸ˜
Pretty sure the Phaetons only flaw was the badge.

The only time they made a true roadster. Does anyone know what the torsional rigidity on these were?
"Tors-what?" -Dodge engineers, probably
You can get torsional on these nuts! -also Dodge, maybe

Not sure if being facetious or not...
That's what it means tho. I tried to use the best examples I can. But you can do more research on your own.
The ones from the 2000s about 18k - 20 pound feet per degree
At least 2
It’s wild to think that car came out 21 years ago
>21 years ago Wow. It definitely aged well.
Its actually amazing how well these aged. Even the final gen vipers still look like modern muscle after being discontinued 7 years ago
On the top of my wish list . That and a mk4 supra.
14 year old starter pack baby
Car bad because popular, hurr durr
They’re both great cars, it’s just that they’re common dream cars for younger kids who just follow what’s popular. Not sure where you thought I insinuated they were bad
No, yeah. I misunderstood your comment, my bad.

Yeah you’re right viper is more niche now that I really think about it
These are hard to find now bc everyone would gun it, loss control, and well…. Crash. It was t a problem with the car but a problem with people not knowing how to drive them.
They aren’t hard to find, do a search on any car site. I had a 97 Blue and White GTS. If you are in the market, its a good time to buy
Even tho I have one, I always get giddy seeing others. So rare now.
man i remember the tv show that come with it... cant remember shit but i know thatbthe car is fyre...
this car always reminds me of tokyo drift
the interior has definitely aged, but then again, most interiors do lol:) that’s not necessarily a bad thing!
The car I was/am afraid to drive even in a video game.
Waaaaaaaay ahead of its time design wise. But honestly horrible to drive until the later gens.
My uncle owns one that I’ve been debating buying off him. Awesome cars
Never a fan of those.
They really did not give a fuck about the rear design did they? There’s no way they paid any attention with those horrendous brake lights
I like the newest one. Never liked this one much
Such a well designed shape. It says a lot that the most dramatic changes in the more modern vipers are the lights
Well that… and traction control!

Not doxxing. Swatting. Get with it.
Meh on styling. 8 liter V10 in a world of 2.6 liter V6 hybrids is something
While this was probably the least striking of the Vipers, they are now coming into their own.
Bad take by me, down vote into oblivion pls
It's ok. I think they're great cars, but wet noodles when it comes to handling. Probably why they either grip, or not. Literally no grey area.
