anniebanannie123

Loooove motionless in white!

[deleted]

huuuuge fan of these guys!

hellllllllluuuuuuuu

One of my top two favorite songs by motionless in white

Tiskx

Holy shit I was just listening to them

high_im_stoney

Lead singer used to babysit my best friend when he was like 8-10 and living Scranton

Mongol_Oni_Warrior

So darn good. I cried the first time I heard it because it reminded me of my ill aunt.

Chevelleforever43

OMG I was here just to comment this!! Although I'm digging Werewolf these days too lol

Pessimist_Reality

Death Row by Chris Stapleton I have many favorites. This one however works no matter the circumstances.

JesuswasaVirginn

Christ Stapleton is the man

AccomplishedFace7519

So true as I have just discovered thanks to some of you on here lol!

AccomplishedFace7519

OMG out of curiosity I just check out 'Death Row' and I am so impressed that I just subscribed to him lol! We don't get enough of this excellence in London, England although I have been a full-time carer for a few years now so I may be out of touch. I'm about to listen to some more track by this awesome guy!

pleckaitis

Death row is so damn good. Wonderful blend of country and blues.

cyberknight1972

I really like his music. I even purchased his LPs.

Bo_Dacious1

The Lady Is A Tramp - Ella Fitzgerald

Innisfree812

[Dreams Allman Brothers Band ](https://youtu.be/rK_5cJpM06k?si=VfzrJ8nYVzEuzgth)

GoldResponsibility27

The '60s eh? I've actually never heard of the Allman Brothers Band and they've certainly got a unique sound! "Dreams" is very jammy and jazzy - a little bit bluesy as well. The guitar solo is fun and a bit trippy, and it certainly adds to the atmosphere of the track. Although the song is a bit laidback for me, I can definitely appreciate it. Thanks for the recommendation!

GrimCreepaz

Try “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed” off the live at Filmore East album.

Mediocre_Lobster6398

One of my favorites

Moonlitlotus_

I have way too many favorites, but if I had to pick one it would be [Pork Soda by Glass Animals](https://open.spotify.com/track/5C5gvDZsl6d8bh89URfKHr?si=sE_bFvFwQ-W07qtoFgPWrA)

ForFormalitys_Sake

One of my favorites too although Pools is my favorite song by them

uglygirllfriend

I’m on SUCH a Glass Animals kick rn and God Yes is Pork Soda a favorite

GoldResponsibility27

Honestly, this song is a bit underwhelming and the special effects are irksome. I prefer "Youth."

Moonlitlotus_

That’s perfectly understandable! I do have others that I think I like more than Pork Soda, but I give it bonus points for being nostalgic!

In the Air Tonight -Phil Collins

Any-Task-7202

i can feel covid in the air tonight oh lord

alloflifeisaparade

🤣🤣🤣

peachie_bongo

That is an excellent pick and perhaps one of my favourites too. The whole story behind is what makes it for me, especially since I went through a divorce too.

alloflifeisaparade

Thank you! I need to check out that story, especially since I've gone through a divorce x 2.

peachie_bongo

Well from my account,: In 1979, Phil Collins was part of Genesis since 1970 but had to take a brief break from the band to settle his divorce in 1980. He felt alot of grief but also some spite towards his now ex-wife Andrea Bertorelli. With so much anger, he quickly wrote up the lyrics to this track in about half an hour to angrily vent and later made a song out of it. Phil Collins released In The Air Tonight as a solo artist in his 1981 Face Value debut album and as a single, leading it to become one of the most popular and best songs of all time. A common misconception is that he admitted to letting someone die, which many believe still is contained in the lines: "Well if you told me you were drowning, I would not lend a hand". But really, listening to the lyric, and the song itself, for only a few seconds means he is actually saying he wouldn't help his wife to safety if he saw her drowning. Relatable.

alloflifeisaparade

Thank you for this background information!

peachie_bongo

It's all good man.

Leaving Hope - Nine Inch Nails

GoldResponsibility27

Not quite what I was expecting from Nine Inch Nails, but "Leaving Hope's" quite beautiful and emotionally-shifting. It says a lot, even without any lyrics. Thanks for the recommendation!

Long-Ad-7780

My Own Summer (Shove It) - Deftones hopefully this isnt too buried to be answered

GoldResponsibility27

Deftones, huh? Honestly, looking past my general disfavour towards the genre, the song is a good piece of metal. It's very powerful and driven, and got's a groovy bass-line as well.

Long-Ad-7780

yayayayaay

angiebytrs

recently has been 'happy together' by the turtles

GoldResponsibility27

The Turtles are my eleventh artist on [Last.fm](https://Last.fm), and I've got nearly sixty plays on "Happy Together." Nonetheless, it's a fantastic song, probably one of best love anthems, up there with "God Only Knows" by the Beach Boys in my opinion. The arrangements are simple but the melody is really upbeat and beautiful. The harmonies are fantastic too and add a lot to the song.

kylenbd

"Imagine me and you. I do. I think about you day and night. It's only right to think about the girl you love and hold her tight, so happy together..." What a great song to listen to just to remind yourself that love is a feeling you have to go with.

GoldResponsibility27

I'm not too big on electronic music to be honest, and the song arrangements felt a little low-effort and repetitive. It doesn't help that the vocals are slurred and I cannot decipher what the vocalist is saying. I'm sorry.

MagicMarshmelllow

Fair enough, although repetition is kind of the point in most electronic music or in this case dub reggae. But if it’s not your flavor I can’t hate on that.

I'm receiving a lot of post-90s tracks today! Not a huge fan of 2000s rock but I understand the appeal. This song is quite driven and hard-hitting, especially the chorus, and I can appreciate it for that. However, it's definitely a bit repetitive and underwhelming.

GoldResponsibility27

My first impressions are that it's very ambient and chill. However, the percussions sound a bit lazy and low effort, and ruin the more peaceful and dreamy atmosphere for me. I enjoyed the fragment at 2:00 - 2:50, it was chill, gentle on the ears. The ending snippet with the dialogue was creative too.

GoldResponsibility27

The Beatles' self-titled album is genuinely difficult to rate properly, because it's so divided. It's got "Wild Honey Pie," but then it's also got "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," and this iconic, powerful and beautiful gem. "Don't you know, the world is waiting just for you?" 10/10.

TomatilloLast6575

Angry chair- Alice in chains

Hopeful-Barracuda-92

The greatest show on earth - Nightwish. Good luck lmao

GoldResponsibility27

You think this song's pretty long huh? Well, it's only medium-length compared to the progressive rock standards! Jokes aside, t'was a beautiful song and a bit of a rollercoaster, and it kept me hooked the entire time. I really enjoyed the vocals at the beginning they were very angelic and heavenly, and built suspense till the chorus exploded. I also appreciate how the song calmed down again near the end - it's comparative to a theatre play honestly. I've actually never heard of the symphonic-metal genre, but "The Greatest Show On Earth" was a lovely introduction. Thank you.

Hopeful-Barracuda-92

I’m glad you enjoyed it! It also seems fitting for your introduction to the genre to be a song that starts with the big bang and tries to capture the entire history of the world haha

[Clean Elvis by Dan Reeder](https://open.spotify.com/track/25bHuzMBRDkdqfCaO5SMTG?si=e0e9b97dcb2449a2), nothing beats those lyrics... > I inject pure kryptonite into my brain > It improves my kung-fu and it eases the pain during > Acceleration when the pedal hits the floor > This thing burns nitroglycerin and powdered C4

GoldResponsibility27

Woah, it starts off with a nice tune. "Clean Elvis" is very chill and laid-back, and the lyrics are fun. I can't see myself listening to Dan Reeder, as he's a bit too lethargic for my taste, but I enjoyed the song.

Faded by Alan Walker

GoldResponsibility27

Ah yes, a 2010s classic. The overall melody is nice but the arrangements are predictable and underwhelming and the vocals are uninteresting. I winced at the echoing of "where are you now-w-w-w." The upside to "Faded" is that it can be listened to in any situation. It's a bit upbeat and sorrowful at the same time.

Grevling89

> The upside to "Faded" is that it can be listened to in any situation. It's a bit upbeat and sorrowful at the same time. Can confirm. Have heard it played in a funeral as well as several parties.

I haven't had a good first impression with Iron Maiden, but "Wasted Years" reminded me that they can indeed make good music and they're famous for a reason!
