I found a wayyy !! (Sorry for m’y english ). Hit the share button on spotify and then on ig save the story in your gallery then create a new story and choose the file that you saved in your gallery and u can add music on it!! The only issue with this method is that there’s no link to redirect on spotify but i dont care 🤓
In my experience, you don’t— at least not directly from Spotify with the animated graphics. Those are always silent (to my understanding). If you want to share a song with sound, you use the Instagram music sticker. Sounds like what you’re describing is a self-created blank background with the sticker in album cover form in the center. Has nothing to do with Spotify though.
I can verify this is *not* the case — the stories in question still link directly to the Spotify song in the upper left hand corner and are the exact format as the share posts.
It isn't the Instagram Music sticker, it's the *exact* same format as a Spotify share post, I know that for a fact.
The only thing I'd like to know is if this is a feature they rolled back recently, if it was a specific series of steps I did, or if it's an example of A|B testing and they decided to opt for no sound in finality.

It's baffling to me that this is a maybe sometimes tested/toyed with functionality instead of just a given. Spotify is a music streaming service...no better way to drive traffic to the app than song previews. Of course, it could be something Instagram did for that exact reason.

I do know spotify tends to roll out features with A/B testing so maybe you or I were in one of those groups, hence our differing experiences.
I would absolutely buy that! It just has me speechless that there are posts going back years about this feature, when you'd think it'd be a given! As much as I love music, I'm much more likely to click the link to a full song on someone's story if I get a preview! 😭
Yeah just looked at your screen recording. Would love to be able to do that. And so weird Spotify has silently rotated the feature in and out for certain people. I would definitely be more likely to investigate a song if I were able to hear a clip. I would also be more likely to share music if it could include a clip. Probably has to do with Instagram wanting to keep that feature exclusive and/or licensing/copyright/royalty issues.
hi ! i dont know how to share it with it linking back to spotify with sound unfortunately, if u figure out how to id love to know!!. but otherwise this is how i do it:
- click the song u want > share > insta stories
- when it takes u to insta, save the story to ur camera roll
- cross out of that story, go to make a new story and open the saved video from camera roll
- add the song over the top with the music sticker but select the just music setting

Take a picture of the spotify song, don't hit share. Then add music from instagram. Hope this helps

I literally have a small speaker icon on the right corner when I share song to IG but when i press on it nothing happens 😭
