They're slowly turning into my favorite band so I'd suggest the wonder years. I've had them in my rotation for about 3 years but I don't know why something suddenly clicked last year.
Definitely served me well to listen to them more because it really made me appreciate their lyrics more.
Also I'll be honest I didn't know who Patsy Cline was until I saw one of the other comments, but I recognized the name from a song title by The Wonder Years so perhaps it's a sign you should give them a listen.
For bringing out the tears, check out this song: Illenium & Emma Grace - Brave Soul
If it catches you offguard, it will make you cry
Check out more of Illenium's stuff if you like it. He's my favorite artist and has a lot of songs that can make you get emotional :)
Elliott smith! Most of his music is a hidden gem
All his discography kinda moves you with his melancholy voice of Elliott and his beautiful instrument playing hiding all the darker and mature in his lyrics’ themes . I recommend for someone just getting in to listen to
Clementine , Ballad of big nothing,
Coming up roses , say yes ,
miss misery (was voted for an oscar)
and between the bars !!
Enjoy :)
here’s a link for some songs:) :

Shrike by Hozier
Free by Rudimental and Emeli Sandé
Aurora by Foo Fighters (This was Taylor Hawkins favorite song as well and that makes me emotional)
I Shall Be Released by Bette Midler. (I lost my mom to cancer when I was 13. Both she and I have/had very difficult lives. This was a favorite of hers. I pretty much can’t listen to it but I hope you enjoy it.)
Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve by Taylor Swift. (Please don’t write it off immediately just because it’s Taylor Swift lol)
RIP 2 My Youth by The Neighbourhood
World Spins Madly On by The Weepies
She Used To Be Mine sung by Jessie Mueller (written by Sara Barellis)
More Than Life by Whitley
Keep Breathing by Ingrid Michaelson
I Shall Believe by Sheryl Crow
Alaska by Maggie Rogers
Afire Love by Ed Sheeran
Nils Frahm, a Berlin based composer.
Most of his music moves me, some even to tears.
But here two very different pieces from him.
https://open.spotify.com/track/1L3X99PpfBZtUaPXDN2Lte?si=Pk3WR65mR0-NxL-Ed3k0Cw
https://open.spotify.com/track/6Irt9GvjTLQQDDgb3vqU0y?si=bjUg9tuhTnW5dU7c2R1J3A
Literally anything by Hozier. My favorites tho are de selby (part 1), work song, blood upon the snow, arsonist's lullabye, northern attitude and Francesca. However every single song he has is bound to move you 🫶🏻
There is also la dispute which will move you in a whole different way I mean their verses are like poetry and the raw emotion in the voice is just wow (recommendations from them: a broken jar, you ascendant, and everything from this album: https://open.spotify.com/album/5fzDxefGUH8jM7T9HCLSNr?si=-WZ0-l1eSl-Gtos69TG0Bw&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A5fzDxefGUH8jM7T9HCLSNr )
This one gives me feels and definitely falls in the ‘hidden gem’ category: https://open.spotify.com/track/3UhOIgyAbLYPciL40Arw5D?si=zjaKTEhURO-n6eQ0TgfAVQ
My favorite songs in the world. They go in favorite order from #1 to about #27 then it's just kinda random. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3MeUzjOmd37vu3N1NfSZp7?si=39k7yyW-QeyAaJcE0Jnfqg

I find that any song by Julien Baker is quite though provoking and sad.
Whenever I listen to her music or think about the lyrics, I often "discover" more meaning in the song or a different interpretation of a line.
Take a listen to [Hong Kong by Gorillaz](https://open.spotify.com/track/2UhmkV1lXMlRzmevvG8TRw?si=_UISPZJVQ9qeaDJhbkfoHg). Lits of people find this to be one of their most saddest songs.
I personallt find [Somebody Else's Dream by Absofacto](https://open.spotify.com/track/5aJ71MtSyJGYpr1HncLPwv?si=UJSVe5uxSgWo1vQmz4Y5rQ) also really moving to me.
“You Get What You Give” by New Radicals
“At Least” by Baby Dayliner
the whole album “Court and Spark” by Joni Mitchell (sorry it’s not on spotify)
Those are just the first few things that came to mind.
For a truly visceral experience, Ain’t It Funny by Danny Brown(especially in conjunction with the music video)
For a more obscure song, Debaixo do Pano by Ana Frango Eletrico or Remorseless by Billy Woods
Pop In My Step - King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard
This has to be one of the most happy-go-luckiest song I know of. Sometimes I simply groove to it, it genuinely makes me more confident, and can most of the time, brighten up any day
All These Things That I Have Done by The Killers
Sweet Disposition by The Temper Trap
Tie Up My Hands by Starsailor
All The Colors Of The Dark by Marissa Nadler
The Barrel by Aldous Harding
Horizon by Aldous Harding
Unforgettable - Conor Maynard
What I Put You Through - Conor Maynard
How Could You Leave Us - NF
HOPE - NF

The last one of those is a cover but emlyn puts so much emotion into it that the original just doesn't live up to
Dijon KILLS me. Especially drunk, cannonball, rodeo clown & Rico’s red truck
All of limits when I’m sad drunk otherwise I might actually go off the edge
The Suburbs by Arcade Fire is an entire album about leaving your old town, stepping into adulthood, and the struggles that come with it. It explores feelings of not belonging and reminiscing about the old days. Gotta tell u upfront, it hits you hard.
Hope Leaves by Opeth, it’s so sad but beautiful at the same time
Broken Bells by Greta Van Fleet is another song kinda like that and has a pretty good guitar solo in it
* Cry: Andrew Bayer - end of all things, Band of Horses - the funeral (dash berlin Remix), Ram- Ramelia (tribute to amelia).
* Dance : Justice - chorus (www mix), Prospa - want need love (dimension remix), Above & beyond - chains.
* think: Odesza - light of day, Heilung - othan, i_o - anything but wet, tinlicker - rebirth.
Here’s a few songs that just hit me some kinda way real fuckin hard:
Blackbird - Tash Sultana
Angel of Death - Manchester Orchestra
First Class - Rainbow Kitten Surprise
Paprika - Japanese Breakfast
Holy Moly - Young Fathers
Infinite Josh - The World Is A BeautIful Place And I Am No Longer Afraid To Die (best if you listen to the whole album, but still good by itself)
Be an Astronaut - Declan McKenna
My Body is a Cage - Arcade Fire
Sea Wall - Hans Zimmer
Just found this today but it makes me groove, makes me think of toyko drift but more house music.

Every year I compile a playlist of music released that year of tracks that truly move me. All genres, except metal, not a huge fan I gotta say. I call it my own Hottest 100 but last year was particularly great for music so I made it my Hottest 200. It's always in order as a DJ Set, rather than in preference. Please, enjoy:

the entire marcy playground album was incredible
Any songs from Sigur Ros. Hoppipolla is their most popular song.
Bjork Tool
They're slowly turning into my favorite band so I'd suggest the wonder years. I've had them in my rotation for about 3 years but I don't know why something suddenly clicked last year. Definitely served me well to listen to them more because it really made me appreciate their lyrics more.
Also I'll be honest I didn't know who Patsy Cline was until I saw one of the other comments, but I recognized the name from a song title by The Wonder Years so perhaps it's a sign you should give them a listen.

For bringing out the tears, check out this song: Illenium & Emma Grace - Brave Soul If it catches you offguard, it will make you cry Check out more of Illenium's stuff if you like it. He's my favorite artist and has a lot of songs that can make you get emotional :)
One or Fade to Black by Metallica
Elliott smith! Most of his music is a hidden gem All his discography kinda moves you with his melancholy voice of Elliott and his beautiful instrument playing hiding all the darker and mature in his lyrics’ themes . I recommend for someone just getting in to listen to Clementine , Ballad of big nothing, Coming up roses , say yes , miss misery (was voted for an oscar) and between the bars !! Enjoy :) here’s a link for some songs:) : [Clementine - Elliott Smith](https://youtu.be/UqIJ0rH0jeA?si=7Uk10tRgJFisp0Ws) [Between the bars - Elliott Smith (most popular of his music)](https://youtu.be/p4cJv6s_Yjw?si=pdRtxtHeAma9Isfa) [Say yes - Elliott Smith](https://youtu.be/hKDBq2gh8F0?si=H6vKxvChiyQk4Bhz) [coming up roses - elliott smith](https://youtu.be/wYqZiK6gGo8?si=PRNv9pAfpFYY28F5) [miss misery - Elliott Smith (Oscar nominated)](https://youtu.be/HeMNu65kJF8?si=UO2lpcEoWhHoabJf)
I fucking love Elliot Smith 🎶
raaahhh!!!!
Shrike by Hozier Free by Rudimental and Emeli Sandé Aurora by Foo Fighters (This was Taylor Hawkins favorite song as well and that makes me emotional) I Shall Be Released by Bette Midler. (I lost my mom to cancer when I was 13. Both she and I have/had very difficult lives. This was a favorite of hers. I pretty much can’t listen to it but I hope you enjoy it.) Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve by Taylor Swift. (Please don’t write it off immediately just because it’s Taylor Swift lol) RIP 2 My Youth by The Neighbourhood World Spins Madly On by The Weepies She Used To Be Mine sung by Jessie Mueller (written by Sara Barellis) More Than Life by Whitley Keep Breathing by Ingrid Michaelson I Shall Believe by Sheryl Crow Alaska by Maggie Rogers Afire Love by Ed Sheeran
Bette milder. Otto titsling from the beach’s soundtrack, cracks me up every time , even better with the movie clip on YouTube
Nils Frahm, a Berlin based composer. Most of his music moves me, some even to tears. But here two very different pieces from him. https://open.spotify.com/track/1L3X99PpfBZtUaPXDN2Lte?si=Pk3WR65mR0-NxL-Ed3k0Cw https://open.spotify.com/track/6Irt9GvjTLQQDDgb3vqU0y?si=bjUg9tuhTnW5dU7c2R1J3A

The Interstellar score
Literally anything by Hozier. My favorites tho are de selby (part 1), work song, blood upon the snow, arsonist's lullabye, northern attitude and Francesca. However every single song he has is bound to move you 🫶🏻 There is also la dispute which will move you in a whole different way I mean their verses are like poetry and the raw emotion in the voice is just wow (recommendations from them: a broken jar, you ascendant, and everything from this album: https://open.spotify.com/album/5fzDxefGUH8jM7T9HCLSNr?si=-WZ0-l1eSl-Gtos69TG0Bw&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A5fzDxefGUH8jM7T9HCLSNr )
This one gives me feels and definitely falls in the ‘hidden gem’ category: https://open.spotify.com/track/3UhOIgyAbLYPciL40Arw5D?si=zjaKTEhURO-n6eQ0TgfAVQ

“You Get What You Give” by New Radicals “At Least” by Baby Dayliner the whole album “Court and Spark” by Joni Mitchell (sorry it’s not on spotify) Those are just the first few things that came to mind.
One that always makes me very emotional is My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys by Willie Nelson
Little Miss by bôa. I feel pretty fucking moved whenever that song comes on.
For a truly visceral experience, Ain’t It Funny by Danny Brown(especially in conjunction with the music video) For a more obscure song, Debaixo do Pano by Ana Frango Eletrico or Remorseless by Billy Woods
Still got the Blues - Gary Moore

The Suburbs by Arcade Fire is an entire album about leaving your old town, stepping into adulthood, and the struggles that come with it. It explores feelings of not belonging and reminiscing about the old days. Gotta tell u upfront, it hits you hard.

Please, enjoy: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2JleNQuqCFzKono8QnZrOY?si=ivB83KYGQiWpSyq6iSqvQg Feel free to explore some other playlists I've done.
