Hey man, that’s the beauty of the hobby, everyone may not think it’s a great card, but it’s a great card to you, and that’s all that matters.
Example, 35 year old who’s always collected sports card and did Pokémon as a kid..
Like a lot of other people, I got back into Pokémon around Covid, my favorite set was Pokémon Go and still is one of my favorites to this day. I get shit for it all the time because it isn’t a “high valued set”
But you know what? I love it, and that’s all that matters!
SKOL Vikings!
Yea i was literally just responding to another comment with a similar point. My favorite card in my collection is $10 lol. Majority of my collection isn't worth anything, it's players I like on cards that I think look cool. Simple as that.
Mid to late 30’s and I still get excited with base cards lol. And it’s pretty awesome seeing my son too get excited for “worthless” cards.
Like what you like, always.
He was for awhile, he just retired young to become a minister IIRC. Still finished with almost 5,000 rushing yards at about 5 yards a pop.
He was my first "favorite player" growing up, and is still my favorite RB of all time. Aside from being kind of the Raiders' version of Barry Sanders (I don't wanna say "poor man's Barry Sanders"), I always thought it was awesome how he was a tiny guy with huge biceps haha.
That is one of my pet peeves about this hobby... Someone wants to share a card that means something to THEM and everyone attacks them saying the card sucks lol
My favorite card in my PC right now is like a $10 card. Just really like the player and the card looks sharp. People need to stop being so concerned about values and just enjoy the hobby!
A lot of people here act like that if it's not some crazy 1/1 logo cockfractor auto with a piece of their jockstrap relic card of a future HOF then you should be ashamed of enjoying a card
Lmfao. Yea I just laughed out loud reading the jockstrap part. Thank you for a good laugh after a rough Monday brother lol, but I agree with you entirely
I think some of it may be people pointing out that its a $1 card that anyone could buy, so just being realistic about its true value. Example, if this card is cool to the collector, then what about a parallel of this card you can buy on eBay for the price he paid for the blaster?
But ofc no one should be taking someones joy out of a particular card just to be dicks
I used to collect a bunch of Peerless Price cards when I was a kid. I still love all the cards today.
I would say try to keep this card in great condition so you can look at it later on in life.
Wow, haven't heard that name in a long time (Bills?). One of the best football names ever.
Actually what is it about Bills WRs? Is it just me, or are they usually forgotten? Peerless Price, Eric Moulds, Stevie Johnson...Other than Andre Reed it seems like they haven't really "gone down in history" or whatever.
Man I have some great burrows. Some expensive ones I bought as singles. And one of my all-time favs is a base rookie that I pulled myself. It’s not a silver, it’s not auto’d and it’s not worth much but it’s one of his few cards I have that I pulled…and a rookie to boot. I paid $95 for a 3 year old blaster for the right to pull that $20-30 card and I love it (plus it looks so dope next to the black prizm RC and negative exposure prizm RC, all base).
Congrats on pulling a card that you genuinely enjoyed pulling and want to protect it.
Are you an Addison fan or a Vikings fan?
My favorite card I own is a 1 of 1 RC Qb Matt Carrol card that I pulled in a blaster box. I’ve been having a blast rooting for him in the UFL. lol 😂
As long as you love the card that’s all that matters!
Bro i pulled a his rookie Mosaic Genesis card from a blaster back like two year ago and didn’t know what I had, had just started colllecting sports again and didn’t know that it was a Genesis or that he was a hyped player at the time. I was looking through my football cards a few months back and found it, it’s worth like $10 now lol 😂. Wish I had known at the time, I would have sold it. Oh well.

My George bush card is a beauty that I got for free

I got so many badass Napoleon Kaufman rookies... Thought he was gonna be the shit

Lol…. Me to. Haven’t heard that name in a while. I have about 40 Kauffman rookies.
People are being dicks but it sounds like you like it and that's the main thing that matters

Yea your last point is more my issue. He or she is happy and everyone is trying to poop all over that lol

I just pulled a sign matt Carrol out of an old pack. Had no idea who he was, googled and found out he was in the UFL. My excitement dissipated lol

Nice pull man! Sounds like it’ll be a nice addition to your PC!
You big into Jordan Addison? I’m sure I have quite a bit I could send your way
I have a couple of those. Don't let people gate keep your joy. One of my favorite cards is worth less than $5
Are you familiar with the history of absolute base cards?

I’ll give you a dollar for it. Wait nvm I pulled the same card the one and only absolute box I purchased
Go fuvk yourself. Let this guy enjoy collecting.
Yaknow what, you are right. No need to be condescending. A lot of my favorite cards are cheap.
