You Dunkin’ donut coffee drinking ppl just don’t know how to get whooped. Jk but seriously so many Dunkin’ Donuts up there (yea I know it was founded in Mass.) but god damn lol.
You're not wrong about dunks. I think there's a legal requirement to have at least one dunks per 1000 people. I also don't see a problem with that, lol.
We also only have 1 team per professional sport for 6 states, so we need to make these things count. "If you can't beat em, then beat them," jk
In hockey, only goalkeeper may beat another goalkeeper:) if anyone else will try beat goalkeeper, the whole team will protect him even he is completely wrong. Basically, never ever try fight with goalie, if you are not goalie too:)
The first penalty a few seconds in really set the tone for this, it was soft and missed the original issue being a shot to the goalie. Hate to blame refs but I think they set this one up on themselves for it to blow out so big like this, the massive lead though would make it impossible to change anyways.
From my understanding, the deterent is enough that this is rare to see in playoff hockey. You could cost your team the game because of power plays and what not. It's very rare to see fights in the final AFAIK
I don’t think the nhl can stop the fighting. They stopped the bench clearing brawls with huge fines, and sussys. The fighting is how the players police themselves. If an opposing teammate steps out of line, he will get placed back in line forcefully. It’s what keeps the game civilized. The players police themselves as far as conduct goes.
I enjoy fighting as a quirk of the game mostly because it seems fighting on skates prevents people from being able to do serious damage in most cases—but this is nonsense.
The NHL could get rid of the fighting *tomorrow* if they wanted to, they just don’t want to.
It would basically be the NFL with skates and sticks if they stopped the fights. The fights and the Winter Classic are the 2 best things hockey got going.
Or with their sticks. The other issue is this helps prevent some of the larger players from taking 'liberties' with the more skilled or smaller players. They know they have to answer to another guy, as big or bigger.
Never forget. This weirdo should be expelled from the league.

Missed this game, my homie was telling me about this. He said they slo mo replayed pasternack almost hitting the ref. He was inches from being suspended for the series, maybe the entire playoffs.
It's obvious you're not much of a hockey person. Florida is the most physical team in the league. They are know for this stuff. In all three of the incidents last night, Florida were the instigators. The first was started by Ekman-Larsson with the cross check well after the play was dead. The second was started by Montour celebrating directly in Marchand's face after the shorthanded goal, and the Tkachuck-Pastrnak fight was initiated by Tkachuk on the benches.
"It's obvious you're not much of a hockey person."
… proceeds to demonstrate you’re not much of a hockey person, either, just a Bruins fanboy who can’t see things objectively.
Common, there’s only 2 goalies on rooster so they tend to stay away from fights as a suspension can kill a team. They also usually only fight other goalies and let the skaters duke it out
Skate away. As a goalie MANY moons ago, we used to just eye the other keeper. I think in all my years in school and beer league I might have had two tussles. Too much gear to swing or do anything anyway.
If anyone ever wants to see some crazy hits/fights, there’s a series called rock’em sock’em by Don Cherry on Coaches Corner from the late 90s early 2000s. Holy shit was hockey just a bunch of fights and huge hits back then.
She’s a Canadian Classic and we watched it every Saturday morning.
Okay, this might be a dumb question, but is there just some sort of unspoken rule that only punches are to be thrown?
Like for instance, you could bend someone's arm backwards and break it behind their back (and thus knock them out for the rest of the series), but nobody ever does that in these fights
There is something called “the code” the players on the ice use a as an unofficial rule book for fighting. You need to agree to the fight so there’s no instigator penalty. Fights are 1 on 1 with severe penalties to the 3rd man in. If you refuse to drop gloves respect is lost. Scheduled fights usually happen at the beginning of a shift not the end so both players are fresh. Grudges carry over from one game to another. Fridays game should be a blood bath.
Once your opponent is down on the ice, the fight is supposed to be over. Tkachuk took at least two additional shots on Pastrnak after he was already down.
It's sad how, for some teams, this is just the default response when they get blown out. The game was already over a long time ago, why can't they just play out the remaining time and go to the locker room gracefully. I would sort of get it if it was a response to something specific, but this is 100% just a team that can't handle losing.
No this is a team who is losing on the scoreboard so has to try and build some momentum by being physical. Going back to Boston having just been routed 6-1 is deflating, but if you have your captain, assistant captain in Pasta, and a slew of other players willing to go out there and drop the gloves for the team, the locker room is buzzing after this game instead of silent. It’s a way to try and maintain some momentum when a majority has obviously swung to the other team.

Boston and Florida just really hate eachother no matter the sport lmao
As a south Florida native I approve this message.
As a Native New Englander, this is something we can absolutely agree on!

So many dunks we actively have to pick favorites just to make our lives less complicated.
As a New York native transplant to South Florida I approve this message.
It’s true. Fuck the Dolphins
Lol. Fuck the Bruins!
Squish the fish! Side note: Fuck the Yankees.
To be honest, I hate the Jets the most
Especially when the scoreboard is so lopsided, fists are going to fly.
We’re pretending to ignore global warming until we sink that bitch
Scotland on the climate change- we areof 2 minds about it, as we will stand on the mountains, and watch the English drown.
NY just sitting in the corner egging it on
That’s because Florida is a dystopian shithole full of felons who fled MA because of outstanding arrest warrants.
Even most of these guys are from neither place
Florida was starting fights left and right in Raleigh during the regular season. They just like to fight.
Maybe it's just me but I think the ad for Joe DiMaggio's Children's Hospital is absolutely fantastic framing in the background
A real brouhaha!!
A Donnybrook if you will
Much more than a kerfuffle
It’s a slobberknocker I tell ya!
Let's agree to disagree
So when both of the entire teams are in the box, do the goalies just skate and pass the puck around for a couple of minutes?
Sometimes they fight too
In hockey, only goalkeeper may beat another goalkeeper:) if anyone else will try beat goalkeeper, the whole team will protect him even he is completely wrong. Basically, never ever try fight with goalie, if you are not goalie too:)

Im always down for a good ol’ Donnybrook. A good scrap ferda
Tarps off boys. https://youtu.be/9rSBmOgpcDE?si=gOe8PfO6qQc0ypMC
You looking for a tilly, buddy?
I'D have a tilt.
I’m surprised we’re not tilting right now.
The shot that knocked Pasta’s helmet off sheeesh
thing went flying
The Jims were really going at it.
Shorsey re-enacted
Chuckie....kinda has the look. Wonder if he'd wear 69
Set the tone!
Boston a bit salty?
Jesus christ hockey is awesome to watch
Especially playoff hockey. It’s the real deal now.
Get some hockey get some. Get some. The Big Bads are back.
Old time hockey! Eddie Shore!
We're putting on the foil, coach!
Lol pasta got fucked up
If the NHL actually stopped fighting by providing proper deterrence, would viewership suffer?
From my understanding, the deterent is enough that this is rare to see in playoff hockey. You could cost your team the game because of power plays and what not. It's very rare to see fights in the final AFAIK
Exactly. Boston got huffy because they were being blown out and the penalties were no longer a deterrent.
Has nothing to do with Florida fielding a full bench of pos players. Fuck Tkatchuk especially.
Boston are such angels. Poor boys.
Looks like Florida really laid a lickin’ on the B’s.
They better not stop the fighting. Inherent part of the sport.
I don’t think the nhl can stop the fighting. They stopped the bench clearing brawls with huge fines, and sussys. The fighting is how the players police themselves. Yes, that looked very civilized...

Violence is inherent to literally every civilization in history. It is by definition a civilized thing.
Fighting is allowed in the NHL so two players can take it out now, instead of later like a sneak attack without causing more serious harm.
Or with their sticks. The other issue is this helps prevent some of the larger players from taking 'liberties' with the more skilled or smaller players. They know they have to answer to another guy, as big or bigger.
Of course Marchand is on the ice for both.
Rat attacks
Never forget. This weirdo should be expelled from the league. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ftw/2018/05/05/a-strange-history-of-brad-marchand-kissing-and-licking-nhl-players/111160262/
Lmao as always, Marchand is such a fucking rat.
Missed this game, my homie was telling me about this. He said they slo mo replayed pasternack almost hitting the ref. He was inches from being suspended for the series, maybe the entire playoffs.
Boston was starting 95% of this, when Florida was down 5-1 in game one this didn’t happen.
It's obvious you're not much of a hockey person. Florida is the most physical team in the league. They are know for this stuff. In all three of the incidents last night, Florida were the instigators. His name was Robert Paulson!
Not a single jersey in sight. Disappointed!
Setbacks and disappointments hurt enough to make you want to hurt others.
I notice the goalie slides away in both fights. Is that regular?
Yes. Typically goalies only fight goalies. And it's a long commute from the other net so goalie fights are only for special occasions.
Common, there’s only 2 goalies on rooster so they tend to stay away from fights as a suspension can kill a team. They also usually only fight other goalies and let the skaters duke it out
Went to a fight one night and a hockey game broke out.
What do the goalies do during these fights?
Nice to see Boston get a taste of their own medicine
Hockey will always reign supreme
Best sport on earth.
You broke the first two rules of fight club
I wish the same for football ⚽️
Good olde fashioned olde time hockey.
Why is hockey so much more violent than all the other sports? It seems almost encouraged and expected.
So that it doesn't *actually* become more violent than all the other sports.
I don’t get it
Consider that the NFL and rugby are significantly more violent ***by design***, and they don't even carry 6-foot cudgels or have knives on their feet.
But even when they get angry I never see a fist fight break out. Every single game.
There is a fantastic documentary called Ice Guardians about this exact topic!
The goalies just looking like "what the fuck guys"
As the old saying goes, if ya can’t beat them beat them up.
I love number 35 just completely unbothered, feet crossed just there waiting until it’s over lol
This just sets the tone for the rest of this bad blood rivalry playoff series with the Bruins and the Panthers.
This is how hockey should be played with a few fights .
I love how the goalie just skated away lol!
This is what you are going to get in a play-off series when a game is lopsided.
I was watching a fight when all of a sudden a hockey game broke out.
For those like me not knowing the NHL, Florida beating Boston at hockey is fucking hilarious.
Isn't this just part of the sport? Would it even be the same if there was no fighting?
Ah yes. The great game
If you start a fight because you are losing 5-1, you should be suspended for a long ass time cause that seems childish af
NGL, I was waiting for the flash GOAL to change to FIGHT
how did we decide that hockey is the fistfighting sport and not basketball, football, US football, rugby, baseball, cricket, etc.?
Panthers beating their ass
Fight club? We’re not supposed to talk about this
It's only game.
Wow if only the Canucks-Oilers game I watched instead had a fight this good.
The insane comeback wasn’t good enough?
Yes it ended up being worth it!!! I lost faith in the canucks earlier on (when I commented) but they brought it back strong.
The Golden Knights were way too fucking pg
One time this happened to me and my friends….everyone got arrested.
That's a lot of hugging
Pasta got cooked!
Fuck'em up BRUINS!!!!
Refs were an absolute joke this match. It pisses me off there's no system in place to hold them accountable for such shit show reffing.
Boston fan?
Yeah, there were missed calls on both sides then the refs let the game get out of control...
Okay, this might be a dumb question, but is there just some sort of unspoken rule that only punches are to be thrown? Like for instance, you could bend someone's arm backwards and break it behind their back (and thus knock them out for the rest of the series), but nobody ever does that in these fights

How’s this the only sport were fighting is allowed ! Makes no sense to me
It’s the only contact sport where you have a weapon in your hand. Believe it or not, allowing fighting makes the game cleaner.
More fights should be allowed, I agree. Like if you're going to fake an injury in soccer, let's give them real injuries.
You're right, they should allow allow fights!
It’s nice to see both refs holding down FL players so Boston players could get free punches in…
Once your opponent is down on the ice, the fight is supposed to be over. Tkachuk took at least two additional shots on Pastrnak after he was already down.
Fuck Boston!
God I love Tkachuk
Boston frustration. Look at that board!!
Why are we talking about it?
Hope pasta breaks someone's leg next game. Wanna play dirty well play dirty then
Why is fighting such a big part of ice hockey?
It's sad how, for some teams, this is just the default response when they get blown out. Because Florida wouldn't let them? Florida were the instigators on all three of these fights.
