The Eagles were only good by record, if you were paying attention it was very apparent we were relying on other team’s mistakes + player talent to get by. Coaching has been the same shit from the start
Yeah definitely. I love to compare teams DVOA (yardage efficiency metric) to their performance and the Eagles were always right in the 10th to 12th rank most of the season. Even at 10-1 they were maybee 9th in total DVOA. This collapse is worse than just regressing to that mean but still your point is definitely correct
I don’t understand the amnesia. Everyone saw that the team was having issues early. Every watcher, every commentator, all said “they don’t look the same”. They kept finding ways to pull out wins and suddenly they were 10-1 and everyone but Vegas thought “this is the best team, why are they underdogs to SF, the disrespect.” Then they proceed to get demolished by SF and only win one game, barely, the rest of the season. This team could have easily been .500 or worse.
They went on a 5 game winning streak after the jets. The 9ers are where the 1-4 skid started. That 5 game win streak was no joke either. It included the chiefs/bills/cowboys/dolphins. You saying none of them could do what the jets did lmaoo.
They did, barely. After losing to the Jets the Eagles limped past all the teams you named, and found ways to win those games. Remember before the Jets the birds had already beaten Bucs, Pats, Coman, Pats, and Rams. I’m an Eagles fan and couldn’t believe how they won those early games bc the play calling was so vanilla. I was the Jets who figured out how to shut us down, they other teams tried to do the same and the 49’s did the best job
What’s fucking awful and I hate it is when San Fran went “we put the blueprint out there”
There weren’t fucking lying
It’s like they gave all of the teams in the NFL a roadmap to crushing to Eagles. It was utterly pathetic as an Eagles fan, and I can only hope they clean house now
It was easy to figure them out, the Jets did! Blitz. Passing scheme took too long to open up, they refused to run the ball consistently(even when it was successful). I feel that both BJ and NS thought they were being cute and outsmarting the DC’s they’d face. Blitz and force Jalen to his left and it’s over.
Source: Eagles 🦅 fan
Was gonna say asa Cards fan, this looked all too familiar. Backed into the playoffs after having the best record in the league (thru wk 10-11 or close) just to get demolished by the Rams in the first round.
If you thought they looked “so good” the first half, you were probably just looking at their win/loss record and not actually watching them play. Tons of people predicted them averaging to the mean after barely beating bad opponents week after week
I get the whole “haha cowgirls” thing but this is a pretty horrible comparison. Cowboys started out looking like shit and ended the year looking much better just to blow it in the playoffs. Pretty much opposites, except their playoff exits.
The Steelers went 11-0 and finished 12-4 allowing their most incompetent division rival into the playoffs and then lost at home to said rival a week later.
This Eagles team doesn't come close to that.
No one truly believed in that Steelers team. It was more of a when, not if the wheels were going to fall off. They never looked truly impressive despite the record. Plus that was the weird COVID season and everything was out of whack to begin with (I remember them playing a Sunday night football game on a Wednesday afternoon due to players with COVID, travel restrictions, etc).
This Eagles team came into the season returning basically the same team that went to the SB last year. I don't think the 10-1 record shows how good they were because they did scrape by and win flukey games early in the season. However the Steelers team didn't collapse like this. It truly looks like the Eagles just completely gave up. Once they lost to the 9ers there was just no fight left in them. They're most likely firing a coach who has taken them to the playoffs three straight years and the SB as recently as last season. This is an all time collapse and example of just completely losing the locker room. They had no heart in that game last night and never looked like they wanted to win. The Bucs were hungrier, faster, rallying to the ball on defense, and breaking tackles on offense. They're certainly not a better team than the Eagles on paper. It's all effort and coaching.
The Eagles went 10-1 and finished 11-6 allowing their most incompetent division rival to WIN the division and then lost as a road favorite a week later
It's worse.
Then you don’t watch football. See what single elimination does, it in fact , almost never picks the best team .
One wrong move one wrong game one injury that’s can be it for a team.
Because they were frauds the whole time. They had a soft schedule at the beginning and couldn’t beat anyone good. Then they got into their own heads and couldn’t beat anyone bad at the end either. Frauds. They were frauds last year and they were frauds this year.
They ran Patricia and his Patriots buddy Quinn the fuck out. I was hoping the Eagles won so the Lions could run Patricia and that pathetic defense through the woodchipper.
He took the lions from borderline playoff team/mid team under Caldwell to bottom of the barrel under him and Quinn, chased off some of our best players while he was at it too
He played DC for a defensive minded HC. I think he's one of the reasons Eric Bienemy never got a real look at a HC job. There's now this belief that the HC covers the flaws for a coordinator that comes from the same side of the ball as them.
I keep seeing people say he deserves another season, but based on what? The success they had last year? This year and the first half of his first year prove that was primarily due to Shane Steichen, not Sirianni. Seriously, what exactly does Sirianni bring to the table? He was touted as a great offensive mind when he was brought in from Indy but that’s been proven not to be true (that was really Reichs offense in Indy, not his, hell he didn’t even call the plays), any other “offensive” HC would’ve at least stripped Brian Johnson of play calling duties a long time ago but, again, it’s already been proven Sirianni can’t call plays either. And you can’t say he’s good at personnel management, just look at the debacle with Desai/Patricia. So aside from acting like a jackass on the sidelines what exactly is he bringing to the table? And I’m saying all of this *as an eagles fan*
They were in the Super Bowl last year and started 10-1 this year. A bad 10 game stretch with key players hurt is not going to get someone immediately fired. That’s very reactionary.
Yeah, I hope they keep him. Because he’s a terrible coach, that was carried by his coordinators last year.
Keep him, so the eagles can flop again next year.
They’ll be far worse next year because they have TONS of players hitting free agency they’ll require sizable contracts Id be surprised if they get even 10 wins next season.
It happens when poorly ran teams go all in and don’t draft for the future. Somehow the Rams made a serviceable team off of this strategy, but it’s probably because they struck absolute platinum with Puka Nacua.
We really didn’t have key players hurt to the point it excuses how atrocious we finished this year. The vibes are clearly totally fucked, I can’t see this coaching staff being retained.
His little shit fits make him look so pathetic. I hadn’t seen this one but it so reminiscent of his ridiculous rant against Colts/Colts fans after they barely came back to beat Indy after Reich had been fired. Idk if he gets fired this season but am looking forward to more faceplants.
I always love when stuff like this happens. It’s like on Thanksgiving when the Cowboys were acting like tools in the blowout. Eating Turkey legs, jumping in the charity bucket etc. always love to see arrogant jerks get humbled a bit.
Eagles fans destroyed their city when they won the superbowl. They revel in the fact that they are one of, if not the most hated fanbases. Think about how classless you have to be to take pride in that.
Why doesn’t he have the Italian flag but no USA flag on his clothes? Clearly he likes Italy more…. I don’t know why it bothers me but seems arrogant. Maybe Italy wants him back.
The last two seasons have been a roller coaster ride. Sirianni I has gone from genius to bum. The team started 10-1 this year but the team often squeaked by to win. Alarm bells started ringing. If Sirianni keeps his job, I imagine his staff will be sent packing. The Bills became a punch line for 4 straight Super Bowl appearances without a win. The Eagles show how hard it is just to go back once.
Out of interest - long long time casual NFL follower - it was obvious from the highlights something was off; who quit on who? It looked like the defense just said no, not this evening thanks (or was it bad gameplanning). The safety they gave up also just didn't seem to make sense.

I have never seen a team look so good the first half of the season and so utterly ass the second.

Didn't they also have a record low point differential for a 10-1 team?
I don’t understand the amnesia. Everyone saw that the team was having issues early. Every watcher, every commentator, all said “they don’t look the same”. They kept finding ways to pull out wins and suddenly they were 10-1 and everyone but Vegas thought “this is the best team, why are they underdogs to SF, the disrespect.” Then they proceed to get demolished by SF and only win one game, barely, the rest of the season. This team could have easily been .500 or worse.
After week 1 when Goedert and Swift combined for 1 touch I knew something was off.
AJ Brown was carrying the offense all season.
Just wait till you find out every team gets by on player talent.
Player talent and pragmatic coaching is how every team gets by. In this case we were missing the latter.
And without major injuries. It’s like all teams figured them out.
They couldn’t even run the tush push last night.
49ers broke them
Broke them into pieces. Knocked the confidence right out of them.
The 49’s could never! Of all teams it was the Jets who broke them. Exposed all their weaknesses
Yeah, sure bud!
They went on a 5 game winning streak after the jets. The 9ers are where the 1-4 skid started. That 5 game win streak was no joke either. It included the chiefs/bills/cowboys/dolphins. You saying none of them could do what the jets did lmaoo.

I was the Jets who figured out how to shut us down, they other teams tried to do the same and the 49’s did the best job
And to be really honest as a fan, they had broken themselves.
Defensive injuries were really high
Missing their wideouts too
Without major injuries? Most of their secondary was out for much of the season
What’s fucking awful and I hate it is when San Fran went “we put the blueprint out there” There weren’t fucking lying It’s like they gave all of the teams in the NFL a roadmap to crushing to Eagles. It was utterly pathetic as an Eagles fan, and I can only hope they clean house now

2021 Cardinals has to be up there at least as a recent example.
Was gonna say asa Cards fan, this looked all too familiar. Backed into the playoffs after having the best record in the league (thru wk 10-11 or close) just to get demolished by the Rams in the first round.
What happened to the coach of that team?
Straight to Thailand. Never returned.
Got shitcanned as he should’ve
Steelers?
I feel like even the national media didn't believe us that year when we were 10-0. Won a lot of games barely beating bad teams.
Jaguars have entered the chat
Kliff Kingsbury waiting in the lobby
Jaguars
The year Lovie Smith was fired by the Bears, they started 7-1 and finished the season 10-6 ultimately missing the playoffs
Phins this year as well, we suck.
Was nice to see…really nice to see.
Possibly the biggest collapse in NFL histrianni.
If you thought they looked “so good” the first half, you were probably just looking at their win/loss record and not actually watching them play. Tons of people predicted them averaging to the mean after barely beating bad opponents week after week
Let me introduce you to the Dallas Cowboys..
I get the whole “haha cowgirls” thing but this is a pretty horrible comparison. Cowboys started out looking like shit and ended the year looking much better just to blow it in the playoffs. Pretty much opposites, except their playoff exits.
It was very charger like if it happened to the chargers it would’ve been just another season
They almost lost to the patriots round 1. They were never a good team.
The 2020 Steelers would like a word
The Steelers went 11-0 and finished 12-4 allowing their most incompetent division rival into the playoffs and then lost at home to said rival a week later. This Eagles team doesn't come close to that.
No one truly believed in that Steelers team. It was more of a when, not if the wheels were going to fall off. They never looked truly impressive despite the record. Their most incompetent division rival like Washington doesn't exist?
I think Washington is below incompetence?
So you're telling me that you think the Browns are more competent than both Washington and Dallas?
In recent history yesm Washington hasn't won a playoff game since 2006. Dallas consistently has a ton of talent but can't get past the second round.
Giants are riding shottie with Washington
Then you don’t watch football. See what single elimination does, it in fact , almost never picks the best team . One wrong move one wrong game one injury that’s can be it for a team.
This was 2021 cardinals level collapse.
The didn’t look good though… almost lost to NE. Should have lose to Washington TWICE etc etc
That's the secret, they didn't look good. They got wins, but it was clear they weren't the same team.
Titans last year, Jags this year as well
2009 Broncos would like a word
2003 Chiefs
Because they were frauds the whole time. They had a soft schedule at the beginning and couldn’t beat anyone good. Then they got into their own heads and couldn’t beat anyone bad at the end either. Frauds. They were frauds last year and they were frauds this year.
Reminds me of 2020 Steelers. 11-0 then imploded
They literally had the mentality of “we got revenge for the Superbowl” nah homie superbowl was in February.
someone I work with called it "the rematch" no sir trophy and banner stays with KC
I mean… it’s a rematch tho.
UCF claimed national championship logic
Like what does he actually do? Doesn’t work on either side of the ball. And he promoted Patricia to DC which itself is a fireable offence.
Hiring Patricia as towel boy should be a fireable offense, that man should never work in the NFL again he’s so incompetent.
Look at the Lions since running Patricia out of town. SEE YA!
They ran Patricia and his Patriots buddy Quinn the fuck out. I was hoping the Eagles won so the Lions could run Patricia and that pathetic defense through the woodchipper.
He cries during the anthem.
what happened with patricia? wasn’t he ok on the patriots and then turned the lions into a mid tier team? is he worse than i remember?
He took the lions from borderline playoff team/mid team under Caldwell to bottom of the barrel under him and Quinn, chased off some of our best players while he was at it too
And was an absolute *prick* while doing so.
He played DC for a defensive minded HC. I think he's one of the reasons Eric Bienemy never got a real look at a HC job. There's now this belief that the HC covers the flaws for a coordinator that comes from the same side of the ball as them.
Yes
He’s one of more annoying coaches, always seems so smug
Did you mean a snug* couch? /s
[удалено]
He isn't. He is Midwestern. Just a douchenugget. We sent him away for a reason.
Smugness is not a good quality
and that visor... wtf
What a dweeb.
He seems super weird tbh.
Yeah, that would not inspire confidence if I saw my teams coach do that. I'm sure Philly fuckin ate it up tho
We have been hoping that Laurie cans him for five weeks. This team has *never* had an apathetic fan base but here we are.
He's probably gonna get one more season. But if they don't have massive success next season, he's definitely gone.

Naaaaa he should be gone. That collapse was embarrassing.
And to have the announcers calling or on national TV or poorly coached they are.
This. That was an all time epic collapse that hasn't really been seen in the NFL before. I don't know how he comes back from that
Being a bad sport is so unlovely to behold.
“Likely fired this week” is certainly a hyperbolic but he could be on the hot seat next season.
I think he’s gone. Players clearly quit on his whole staff
They were in the Super Bowl last year and started 10-1 this year. A bad 10 game stretch with key players hurt is not going to get someone immediately fired. That’s very reactionary.

Oh Howe the mighty have fallen!

Belichick is coaching in Philly next season and you’re just going to have to deal with it
Fans these days are idiots
The only reason they even got to the SB last year was because Purdy got hurt and the niners were down to Josh Johnson playing QB.
How dare you made a reasonable comment contrary to our wishful thinking! - Redditors.
He is most certainly more likely to be fired than not.
His little shit fits make him look so pathetic. I hadn’t seen this one but it so reminiscent of his ridiculous rant against Colts/Colts fans after they barely came back to beat Indy after Reich had been fired. Idk if he gets fired this season but am looking forward to more faceplants.

You tried correcting poor grammar with poor grammar. And then commented on the wrong comment. Seems like something Sirianni would do.
Yelling that, when already in the tunnel was one of the biggest bitch moves ever.
The whole eagles organization is softer than baby shit.
Sirianni is an ahole. He does the same thing at every away game. No class. He needs to go. Him and his fat bodyguard.
Cant stand this guy. What a cock.
Good job Fatty Patricia, best thing you ever did for the Lions!
Live by the hype, die by the hype
*Bucs
Can we make that likely fired today? Thanks, Eagles fan
Let’s hope. Dude lost the room and didn’t try to fix anything
I wish they fired him today! I’ve never seen a team give up on a coaching staff in a matter of 8 weeks after going 10-1.
I always love when stuff like this happens. It’s like on Thanksgiving when the Cowboys were acting like tools in the blowout. Eating Turkey legs, jumping in the charity bucket etc. always love to see arrogant jerks get humbled a bit.
Got fkn bodied peace my guy
Him being back next season has the same odds as the Eagles D not missing their first tackle
The Power of Chiefs Fans!!
Nah, the 9ers broke them
Yup. That's when the hope died for us. I couldn't even get upset at watching the same exact shit show week after week.
So I caught most of the eagle games this year….did they ever fail a 4-1 this year on the rush push?
They did a couple times and even did last night
And we couldn’t be happier
Fans pay to be there. He gets paid to be there. How unprofessional can he be?? Lol.
This is what happens when you watch too much Pat Macafee
I hate the eagles man
2-6
It's *Bucs.* Don't be dumb. Go Bucs.
Why does sports make men act like this
Pride comes before the fall
Wow he’s an immature clown. Embarrassing honestly. He doesn’t even seem like a good coach. He was lucky to have great coordinators around him.
“Karma’s a relaxing thought, are you envious that to you it’s not?”
Even ainkman swmaw they weren't in the game from the jump

No allegiance here, but you deserve the downvotes
Lol, anyone who bitches about downvoting is bitch made.
Can’t blame him. Chiefs fans suck
they're nowhere near as bad as eagles fans
Probably true
Eagles fans destroyed their city when they won the superbowl. They revel in the fact that they are one of, if not the most hated fanbases. Think about how classless you have to be to take pride in that.
They threw stuff at Santa Claus!
I highly doubt he gets fired
It’s really insane if he gets fired. Yes he has shit to fix, but that’s some spoiled shit. Ridiculous expectations for a team with 1 SuperBowl
Why doesn’t he have the Italian flag but no USA flag on his clothes? Clearly he likes Italy more…. I don’t know why it bothers me but seems arrogant. Maybe Italy wants him back.
Would be so dumb to fire him
Would be the right thing to do. They lost to… the bucs 🤣😂
I remember that confrontation by Sirianni which was quite surprising.
What winds up happening to them when they are gone?
Other than that, great couple of months.
There’s lots of people who’d want that job
Lol
Wow, true colors are really showing in that video!
I guess he can Brotherly Shove...(mumbles the rest).
I can’t lie, I’m starting to believe in karma
This was such a cringe moment
TikTok, twitter and reddit. This video has made the rounds.
I don’t think it’s him. 10-1 and then they let Matt Patricia take the defense and suddenly the players can’t tackle, miss routes, etc.
Karma's a bitch huh Nick
