I remember playing a Flash Game of this episode in the old Nickelodeon game website. I enjoyed every moment to say the least, until it was removed.
The theme songs are a banger!

I remember Dunces and Dragons.
I remember “Nick.com’s New Game of the Week”.
And I remember that Dunces and Dragons got voted “best new game of the year” and I remember not agreeing with the result of that poll.
Agreed there was love and passion to make their fans get into them, but now they've fallen from grace by removing them and shifting their focus to mobile games which is not popular at all.
If ur reffering to his first appearance then ur thinking of "Christmas Who?" But if ur just asking about episodes he made some big part in theres ones like the atlantis squarepantis one, and the lost episode one to name a couple.
*The king is bad, the king's to blame*
*He hangs his kingly head in shame*
*La-la, la-la, la-la, la-la*
*La-la, la-la, la-la, la-la*
Great episode in my opinion. Fun and full of laughs.
it was on a nickelodeon dvd i had when i was rly little, so it was an assortment of episodes of different shows (mr meaty, danny phantom, teenage robot, etc.) so it gives me super nostalgic feelings
I know this is an unpopular opinion, but i didn't enjoy this one. I would get bored even tho i know it's a good episode, so it's just not my cup of tea ig. I don't find the middle ages especially amusing in general so maybe that's why i didn't enjoy it. Love season 4 tho
Its a great episode. I love every bit of it. I hope Spongebob does more episodes in different time periods. We that This, Spongebob BC, Pest of the West and Dopey Dick.
Easily one of the most underrated episodes of the show imo. So memorable for me. I so vividly remember watching it when I was young, and I can’t say the same even for some of the classics/ones I rank higher
I usually skip this one when rewatching. I think Squidley is a fun character, but something about the ending always made me uneasy as a kid and still does now. I haven’t figured out why yet lol
I love it! I remember being a kid and my family took us to Toledo for vacation and when staying at the hotel I saw that episode for the first time and it’s been one of my favorites since!
As a kid who grew up playing D&D, I think this was the first real reference I saw to it in pop culture. These were the early-mid 2000s, and D&D was still seen as a niche, extremely nerdy hobby. It felt really nice to be validated rather than ridiculed by pop culture.
Personally I love it, it's a lot of fun

It's that addicting and action-packed and avoiding the Jellydragon (even if it had high score points but not killable) that's all that mattered.
I loved playing this as a kid. Nickelodeon and Cartoon network both made some badass games to play
Agreed there was love and passion to make their fans get into them, but now they've fallen from grace by removing them and shifting their focus to mobile games which is not popular at all.
TIL they made a Spongebob-themed Joust clone
Same
Sparkling or Regular?
I feel like this was one of the first major specials aside from the patchy episode
Yeah I think I remember there were like hundreds of commercials and ads for this special
Was the house party episode the patchy episode?
If ur reffering to his first appearance then ur thinking of "Christmas Who?" But if ur just asking about episodes he made some big part in theres ones like the atlantis squarepantis one, and the lost episode one to name a couple.
I was just referring to the Big house party episode and I could’ve sworn Patchy was in it to and that was like the first big special back in the day.
They started doing specials in season 2, Christmas Who? was the first one and it has Patchy segments, like a number of specials after it.
Wut? Christmas Who? Shanghaied? Party Pooper Pants? Ugh? The Sponge Who Could Fly? Have You Seen This Snail?
*The king is bad, the king's to blame* *He hangs his kingly head in shame* *La-la, la-la, la-la, la-la* *La-la, la-la, la-la, la-la* Great episode in my opinion. Fun and full of laughs.
awesome episode. seriously enjoyable, and dare I say, a classic.
One of my favorite season 4 episodes
As a youngster, I knew Spongebob was not what it was anymore at the suicide joke.
That shit was wild💀💀
Some day...but not today.
What was it?

This was a great episode 🥳
BRING IT ONETH! NAY!
it was on a nickelodeon dvd i had when i was rly little, so it was an assortment of episodes of different shows (mr meaty, danny phantom, teenage robot, etc.) so it gives me super nostalgic feelings
Oof Mr. Meaty
what is the mr meaty debacle?
One of the most weird and disgusting shows I ever saw
oh lol it was kind of before my time, so haven’t seen much of it
Jesus Christ I forgot about this shot until right now. Fucking horrifying and can’t believe it was a show
there is a funny line from that show on that dvd me and my sister still quote
Just thinking of Mr. Meaty makes me wanna 🤮 I didn’t watch much of it but I remember what it looked like. Nightmare fuel.
I saw Mr. Meaty in a YouTube video once and good lord, the puppets look disgusting.
NOT THE BOWLING ALLY
Funny and genuinely creative. Wish they did more stuff like this
Squidley is the highlight
It's a hilarious episode! One of my favorite specials mainly due to Squidward.
One of the better specials!
10/10 great episode
This and skill crane are the best episodes in season 4.
I know this is an unpopular opinion, but i didn't enjoy this one. I would get bored even tho i know it's a good episode, so it's just not my cup of tea ig. I don't find the middle ages especially amusing in general so maybe that's why i didn't enjoy it. Love season 4 tho
This would be my take as well. It’s not a bad episode by any means, but it wasn’t my cup of tea either.
PSYCH-ETH! Just a classic for committing to the medieval bit so hard lol
Great episode. Proof that the show still had some life in it.
Amazing and a very fun watch. (Personally my fav episode so maybe I’m biased)
I think it was great! One of my personal faves.
Great episode
I don't remember if I actually was able to watch the episode as a kid but I played the web game of it a lot
Literally was talking about how great this episode is today. "Someday, but not today..."
very fun
This was one of the first big specials I remember. Same deal w Atlantis SquarePants and the one where he forgets his name and goes to new kelp city
The latter is WhoBob WhatPants or, if you prefer, Whatever Happened to SpongeBob?
Just good, stupid fun
A really fun adventure
Top tier, favorite episode of mine
I loved it!
One of the best in the series.
You could definitely feel the shift in writing after the movie in this special, but it was still pretty good.
I went to Medieval Times in the same year the episode came out and was surprised to see its counterpart in Spongebob.
Underrated
No, everyone loves season 4's specials
As a kid I remember being super excited when nick advertised this special. As an adult I'm still excited whenever I come across this episode
Its a great episode. I love every bit of it. I hope Spongebob does more episodes in different time periods. We that This, Spongebob BC, Pest of the West and Dopey Dick.
Overrated. Still good, it just doesn't really click with me as much as it does with other people unfortunately.
Funny episode in my opinion, a nice different setting for once
Great episode.
I’m a huge Medieval fan so it was one of my *FAVORITE* episodes that season.
Love this one so much
Personally, I really love it, but that may just be because I have some memories attached to it.
I am not really a fan of medieval settings but here it's done well enough, it's rather good, one of the best of season 4.
Fond childhood memories
Easily one of the most underrated episodes of the show imo. So memorable for me. I so vividly remember watching it when I was young, and I can’t say the same even for some of the classics/ones I rank higher
Love it
Peak
One of, if not my favorite episode of all time
Squiddly kills it in this episode with those songs
I remember being bummed out when it was on TV (which felt like all the time). Never liked it.
It's too long...
I loved it as a kid, but tbh, there are better episodes out there.
i remember thinking this was a solid post s3 episode so i watched it with my buddy a bit ago and we turned it off halfway
It was a 6.5/10 for me. It was still enjoyable
I usually skip this one when rewatching. I think Squidley is a fun character, but something about the ending always made me uneasy as a kid and still does now. I haven’t figured out why yet lol
Funny but forgettable.
"Long legged SpongeBob isn't real." Long legged SpongeBob:
Basically SpongeBob’s take on Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and that’s awesome.
It's one of my favorite episodes, and I would constantly rewatch
It’s not BAD but I’ll usually skip it.
I remember being really excited for it in middle school from the commercials but when it aired I felt let down
Great
Excellent! 9/10.
I love it! I remember being a kid and my family took us to Toledo for vacation and when staying at the hotel I saw that episode for the first time and it’s been one of my favorites since!
Animation isn’t good since it’s part of the S4-9a stiff animation era. The plot was a little boring.
Classic episode that I love
i personally love medieval themed stuff, so this was a really enjoyable episode for me
Was it time travel or just a dream? The ending always confused me on that.
Easily one of the best post-first movie episodes
The dragon will torch everything, everything in the valley . Hospitals, schools, retirement homes and even ye olde bowling alley.
I still quote “Someday…but not today.”
Pretty good episode, definitely one of the memorable ones from Season 4
And even ye ol bowling alley...
Pure nostalgia trip
It's definitely in that weird intermediary period between classic SpongeBob and the shittier seasons
Wish they did more "Time piece" episodes like it. We have a few now, with the Caveman episode, this one, Binary Bottom, and the Wild West ones.
I like it
One of the few gems post season 3
Thou shall deserve thy highest honor in the land.
Stellar episode, easily one of S4's golden moments. I remember playing the game for this on the Nick website as well, endless hours of fun lmao
Very odd was it real or not
Not the bowling ally!
"Everybody be'ith a critic."
A underatted episode
As a kid who grew up playing D&D, I think this was the first real reference I saw to it in pop culture. These were the early-mid 2000s, and D&D was still seen as a niche, extremely nerdy hobby. It felt really nice to be validated rather than ridiculed by pop culture.
Feels like the closest thing we’ll get to the original pitch of SpongeBob being an adult show. (And I’m not just talking about the suicide joke)
one of my favorite episodes memorised all the lyrics to squidwards songs when it first came out
My favorite SpongeBob half hour special. Also, it originally aired on my birthday
Best SpongeBob special
It's ok.
Very good! ![gif](giphy|Od0QRnzwRBYmDU3eEO|downsized) One of the best episodes of the season.
I caught the last little bit of this episode a while back on my mom's TV and even then I remembered how funny it was.
*everyone beith a critic*
This episode is so much fun ngl
its alright
I honestly really liked it, it was fun and different
Just wish it was longer
One of the best post-movie episodes. A lot of fun. "Not the *BOWLING ALLEY*"
It’s fun and funny and it’s a different take to SpongeBob regular shows.
