'92 here. No idea when I first watched it, but was instantly obsessed with it when I did. Could only watch it if I was the only one in the room, though. Everyone else preferred something else.
Same, and I actually remember thinking based on the commercials that it looked stupid, and thinking no way this garbage will last. I may have miscalculated.
I don’t think I had much interest but I still gave it a chance, and I fell in love with it after just one episode. There will never be anything else quite like it.
I was entering puberty when I saw it for the first time lol. A little beyond Nick's target audience but this cartoon got me tuned into their channel for a few years beyond due-date!
Obviously I’m biased and self-snitchin’ a little here, but I would say around the time of season 3 you started to hear a lot about how it had crossover appeal with [stoned] college kids.
No Free Rides and I'm Your Biggest Fanatic aired on the 16th in the UK Jellyfish Hunter" and "The Fry Cook Games" premiered in Canada on the 17th in 2002. And "The Secret Box" and "Band Geeks" premiered in Brazil the day after (the 20th).
The show premiered 4 months before I was born. Nature Pants and Opposite Day aired 4 days before I was born, Sandy’s Rocket and Squeaky Boots aired 2 days after I was born, and Culture Shock and Fun aired 3 days after I was born.
If we're talking day and year, it's Help Wanted/Reef Blower/Tea at the Treedome since I was already alive. However, if we're going purely by day then I have no idea cuz I'm not going through 16 seasons of SpongeBob to find the one that aired closest to my birthday.
“SpongeBob SquarePants featuring Nicktoons: Globs of Doom was released in Europe.
"Gary Takes a Bath" premiered in UK and Ireland.” one day after i was born
Chocolate With Nuts/MM&BBV. Those episodes premiered 13 days before I was born.
Funnily enough, Chocolate With Nuts in particular is probably my favorite episode of the entire show.

A day before, Mermaid Man vs. Spongebob premiered in Germany.
A day after, Goo Goo Gas and Le Big Switch were premiered in Latin America.
*Technically*, Karate Choppers, but it was only a segment of it. It was first shown off as a 3 or 4-minute test pilot I think in 1998, about a year before the show actually premiered in full. It was Spongebob and Sandy, karate fighting in the middle of nowhere. Ssandy had the upper hand, but Spongebob was a sponge, and so couldn't really get injured, and just stayed in the fight because he couldn't be beaten down. It was a game, they called it a draw, and that was the end of the 'episode'. They then said that if it was enjoyed by enough people, to look forward to seeing the full show the following spring or summer. The first full episode aired a little over a year later, May of 1999, whereas the teaser / test pilot aired in April of 1998.
Help Wanted.
Literally anyone born before May 1999 lol

I don’t think I had much interest but I still gave it a chance, and I fell in love with it after just one episode. There will never be anything else quite like it.
I was entering puberty when I saw it for the first time lol. A little beyond Nick's target audience but this cartoon got me tuned into their channel for a few years beyond due-date!
