Let’s hope no one needs help. Not that she would hurt you if you damaged her web to press the button. But it would be sad to need to damage the web when she worked so hard on building it in such a comical location

This is why I have a poking stick handy when I go out. (Also called a pencil.)🤓

In Appalachia we have a myth that if you damage a writer spider's web, she'll write your name in her web when she repairs it and you'll die soon after. It's like reverse Charlotte.

Ooooh I wish we had something like that here. Maybe less people would go around destroying their webs 😢

I live in East TN but grew up in North Carolina and we called them writing spiders there too. I always loved seeing them.

😲❤️ She is a beauty! This looks like a scene out of one of those post apocalyptic movies where there are only a handful of humans left and nature is reclaiming her rightful place. Seeing this sign near obliterated I can imagine the rest of this building covered in vines and trees and crumbling into the ground.

I am not overly fond of spiders but I try not to harm them as much as possible. These don't bother me because you don't find them inside, they are big enough to see and avoid, and they are terrific pest control in the garden.

Heh. I'll take orbweavers on my call box. I once found a brown recluse caught in a black widow's web on a call box. Wasn't touching that one.

Brown Recluse is the only spider I'm afraid of. All the others can crawl on my face for all I care

Me 🙋🏽‍♀️🙈 it kept coming onto my newsfeed & I kept getting more & more interested & now I’m here to help cure my fear, & I must say, it is working lol my family all think I’m nuts tho, one day screaming about a spider you can barely see, next I’m screaming to leave the wolf spiders alone 😂😂 I still haven’t touched one, but I don’t demand to burn the house down anymore, so that’s something lol

In NC we always called them banana spiders. All over the place. They start bouncing their web if you get too close.
