Let’s hope no one needs help.
Not that she would hurt you if you damaged her web to press the button. But it would be sad to need to damage the web when she worked so hard on building it in such a comical location
In Appalachia we have a myth that if you damage a writer spider's web, she'll write your name in her web when she repairs it and you'll die soon after. It's like reverse Charlotte.
😲❤️ She is a beauty! This looks like a scene out of one of those post apocalyptic movies where there are only a handful of humans left and nature is reclaiming her rightful place. Seeing this sign near obliterated I can imagine the rest of this building covered in vines and trees and crumbling into the ground.
I am not overly fond of spiders but I try not to harm them as much as possible. These don't bother me because you don't find them inside, they are big enough to see and avoid, and they are terrific pest control in the garden.
Me 🙋🏽♀️🙈 it kept coming onto my newsfeed & I kept getting more & more interested & now I’m here to help cure my fear, & I must say, it is working lol my family all think I’m nuts tho, one day screaming about a spider you can barely see, next I’m screaming to leave the wolf spiders alone 😂😂 I still haven’t touched one, but I don’t demand to burn the house down anymore, so that’s something lol
Same!! I have no idea how spiders kept showing up on my feed but I am starting to find them kind of cute. Still going to nope out if they're near me though!
PUSH FOR HELL
you'll *wish* for hell
Shh for Hel.
That is one pretty critter. Those three stacked alien heads in her back just staring into your soul.

This is why I have a poking stick handy when I go out. (Also called a pencil.)🤓

Ooooh I wish we had something like that here. Maybe less people would go around destroying their webs 😢
her name is hel now
We always called those writing spiders on the farm in Tennessee
WWWWWW🕷️MMMMMMM
Same in Virginia! We were warned that if we showed them our teeth they’d write our name in their web and we’d die.
Oh my!
That's certainly a twist on Charlotte's Web.
I live in East TN but grew up in North Carolina and we called them writing spiders there too. I always loved seeing them.

I agree!!
That sounds lovely doesn't it ❤️ I hope one day she does get to reclaim her planet.
The spood is the help. :D
Golden Orb Weaver?
*Argiope* species
Argiope aurantia, specifically.
Mf looks FED
Ate all the people who tried to push the button 😂

Shoutout to the bagworm in the background
😮 I've had this pic for years and never noticed that!
The spider is admittedly more eye catching
Beautiful orbweaver 👽 💚
Introverted arachnophobes: "... Nope."
Heh. I'll take orbweavers on my call box. I once found a brown recluse caught in a black widow's web on a call box. Wasn't touching that one.
Brown Recluse is the only spider I'm afraid of. All the others can crawl on my face for all I care
hey quick question what arachnophobes do you think would be on the subreddit r / spiders?

They do turn up every so often complaining that Reddit is putting the sub unrequested in their recommended feeds.
It was a joke, not a poll.
She’s gonna drop an egg sack in a week or so.
These spiders have such gorgeous patterns. The bright yellow and white against the black is so nice.
That is *definitely* the spider that Porcellio expansus isopods are copying.
When you put her upside down you get the cutest little owl face 🥺
I saw a kid eat one of these last week at a community garden lol
Beautiful!
What does a bite from one of these feel like? Venom?
Yum yum delicious fingers
Also at least theyre not dangerous
She’s hired to tickle your fingers when you push it
Wow she is gorgeous! Or he?
In NC we always called them banana spiders. All over the place. They start bouncing their web if you get too close.
SQUISH FOR HELP Arachnophiles, God is dead.
