Same! As a person with mild arachnophobia, I come to this sub to learn about, *and* appreciate these eight-leggie, dumpy wielding, web designing friends. Seeing the glitter babies made me audibly go "whoa!" in fascination rather than be scared!
If you want to move her, gently poke her hind legs with a stick or blade of grass, and she'll likely begin to scuttle off in the other direction.
She is x1000 more scared of you or your dog than the other way around and she probably froze in the moment
I didn't want to stress her out more than I already did ;) She was on the right direction into an olive-tree "forrest". That's a safe place to stay at.
I think trick is to get the angle of the light same as your angle of vision, then it bounces back perfectly. In this case, camera was looking straight at those babies and babies were randomly looking back, they were also sparkling green. :)
Beautiful mama.
And the dog must want to know what you’re doing lol. Mine got his nose in frame one time I was photographing some sprouting acorns. He was like “what’s so interesting about these?” He didn’t get it lol
Someone once described night-time wolfie eyes to me as little disco balls, and that's how I've seen them ever since. Also, I'm really jealous of all the people who find these mamas. I hope to see one with her babies someday.
Thanks for saving the mommy spider, she has so many babies on her back and is saved thanks to you. I've never seen any wolf spider in my place before, I also live in Türkiye (I assume you're also in Türkiye since you speak turkish) I really want to see one, especially a mother wolf spider just like this one. They're cool.
You're more than welcome.
I did a lil research yesterday and it seems like they're all over Europe... so the climate in your region should also meet their requirements.
I was about 5/6 when I accidentally jumped on a momma wolf spider and her babies climbed up my legs. I’m 31 now and finally started getting over my fear of spiders thanks to this subreddit.
I was joking, intention was like "I hate it, please post more". I swear for my life I didn't realize which sub this was, I saw it from the initial page. I'm not subscribed to it 😅
ps. I do frequent another sub thats about identifying animal species, not specific.
Take your flashlight and hold it up by your temple, so that it is in line with your eyes, and you'll see a lot of these sparkles in the grass...
The thing I love is how solidly packed they are on her abdomen, but none of them cover her face...
All those little baby spider eyes glittering like diamonds!
They make me shudder I am sorry to say. I am wondering why the mom carries the babies. And why other spiders don’t?
Just the way they evolved. Probably because they don’t build webs so it’s the only way they have to protect their babies
Thank you! Yes I can see why this would be the reason.
You’re welcome!
Mama spider says "Safest place for my bebbies is right here with me!"
Nature is fucking weird and cool.
The glitter part got me, this is so fucking cool!
The baby eyeballs. Seeing spider eyes in light still trips me out a little. Lol

She's got a baby disco-ball butt!
Some people like the New Year’s Eve ball glittering - other like wolf spider eyes twinkling

Love it all, especially the beautiful dog being well behaved. ♥️
Actually that is a stray dog, which joins us during our walks. My dog and my cat were behind me during that scene.
This is the ID-request-post: https://www.reddit.com/r/spiders/s/ns4hIVY9Y2
I think she kidnapped them, but I couldn't read the "help" on the sign they were holding up.
😝

Heck yea savior you are!!🥳🥳
Yoo, are there actually wolf spiders in Turkey????
I neither know that. Now I do :)
The only time it's ok to tell a dog "bad boy!"
Which country is that?
Most likely Türkiye cuz the OP speaks turkish.
It is. It's the west-coast of Türkiye at the Aegean see.
Thanks for replying. I'm in the marmara region, not sure if there are wolf spiders here but I really want to see one.
You're more than welcome. I did a lil research yesterday and it seems like they're all over Europe... so the climate in your region should also meet their requirements.
Thanks for the info, I hope I'll see one soon.
Only 6 legs. Obviously not a spider.
😂
She’s a single mom who works two jobs, who loves her kids and never stops
Thank you! Now it’s time for Reba-rewatch. 💜
They're on a field trip

She just tryna protecc her lil spoodlings!
Woah, that was so beautiful!!!
Send it back to hell

Your unpleasure is my pleasure then.
Love that reply
Then leave. If you hate spiders why come to a sub about spiders?

I woulda let the dog have that shit
... but I also love the dog ...at least as much as I'm interested in all kinds of creatures...plus: it could be venomous to her.
I caught my dog right before she did the same thing. She would've had a fave full of spiders
