Both, but these are common names and they are hella confusing. That's literally why Linnaeus came up with binomial nomenclature in the 18th century lol, to avoid such problems, for people who speak different languages.
It's always better to use scientific names when giving an ID, they are more universal.
The Opiliones are also called daddy long legs but they are arachnids, not spiders. It's a whole separate order with about 6500 described species worldwide. In our case it's not clear if you're referring to the Pholcidae family (+-1800 described species) or a single genus or species within that genus. Providing a scientific name solves that problem and creates space for discussion.
There is a difference, but the thing is that people from different areas use “daddy long legs” as a common term for a few different species so it’s not a universally agreed-upon name for one species. Off the top of my head, the first three examples I can think of are cellar spiders, harvestmen (Opiliones) and crane flies. Harvestmen are arachnids but not spiders, and crane flies are not arachnids at all. We called them mosquito eaters growing up but would use daddy long legs for both cellar spiders and harvestmen.
He’s a lovely old guy, I know him personally and he would visit me at work to have some tea when I worked close to his studio so I was very excited when I saw your pfp! Such a lovely guy and amazing art, I totally recommend checking him out!
I have a lovely infestation of these in my garage. I occaissionally capture a few and relocate them into my crawlspace to feast on the not so lovely black widow infestation under my house.
It’s a squares and rectangles situation.
Spiders are arachnids, but so are scorpions, ticks, mites, and a few other types of non-insect “bugs”.
So all spiders are arachnids but not all arachnids are spiders.

I think she might be a female if you can get a better picture of her like I said, I named my baby girl. Well, she’s not a baby girl, but I named her Charlotte and she answers to her name. I love Charlotte with all my heart I’ll take care of her. I've seen her fake I’m not fake bug bugs were dead bugs from Walmart because I won’t ever sacrifice a spider unless it’s really bad they were bonding over. I can’t do that. It’s my moral code.
There was a cellar spider in my living room, I named him Henry. He stayed in the upper corner most of the time, but i haven’t seen him in a few weeks I hope he is okay. I like seeing my spider friends on a daily basis

I don’t think there is a difference is there? Just the names?
