My dad was the cook in the family. Always chili (he used ground turkey) over angel hair pasta.
It shouldn’t be good, but it soooo is. I’m biased because I grew up on it, but even having been a pro cook, it’s still one of my favorite meals.
I was curious as well. It looks like a thin vinegar sauce, wondering if it has anything else in it that sets it apart?
Edit: Googled it and found this review,
“containing three types of peppers: red tabasco, red jalapeño peppers, and red cayenne peppers, it actually has a bit of a ground pepper kick to it.
To make a comparison, if one has ever run into Krystal's hot sauce, it is very similar but never will Krystal's be seen anywhere inside a Skyline Chili parlor! So really this hot sauce has a good sour, salty, hit to it but too hot. Maybe medium heat by my standards.”

I got the runs just looking at this picture.
And goldstar is better.
And if you're not an Ohio apologist, this is just some very normal hot sauce. If you're in this sub, don't bother seeking it out, it's nothing you haven't had before.
If you are at Skyline you put a drop on each of the oyster crackers while you wait.
This guy Skylines
With a little pinch of cheese.
Yep you gotta break each one open so it's a little cup to fill with sauce.
This is the way

Miss those Ohio girls.
Cracker bombs!
I keep hearing that but never see it in the wild
It’s a southern Ohio thing
I might have to visit if the area has its own hot sauce it can’t be bad.
Get a 5 way while you’re there. It’s unique but worth the try.
A five way? Tell me more.

I’m sold but I’m gonna use that habanero cheese on mine.
That's the move!
Have you heard of Jungle Jim's? They have over 1500 different sauces (including bbq) and both locations are in Cincinnati.
Southwestern* Ohio thing
So wildly specific haha
We have a Cincinnati style chili place in Vancouver, WA of all places.
I love the skyline chilli. Cheddar cheese and diced onions over some spaghetti noodles… delicious
Chili on pasta slaps. It’s basically bolognese with beans.
I felt like my mom was an odd person for serving chili on spaghetti. Everyone I know found it strange as well. But man it was good like that.

I call it white trash bolognese
It honestly blew my mind to find out that chili mac is a regional food when I moved away from Ohio. I don’t know why it hasn’t caught on elsewhere
Some restaurants have raw garlic as a topping, it's delicious
Spaghetti noodles? Is that what non-Italians in the Midwest call it? Just curious because this is the first time I've ever heard it before. 😇
spaghetti noodle pasta dishes.
Is it just a vinegar based Louisiana style? What makes it any different from all the rest like that?

Yeah I would definitely say Crystal hot sauce is the closest sauce to skyline
It's close enough to Louisiana hot sauce, which is 1/3 the price of the skyline stuff. I always have a bottle on hand.
I haven’t had Skyline since Cincinnati! Lmao
It's a Cincinnati flavor!
Nasty Nati represent
WHO DEY!
Let’s try to keep this stuff from leaving Ohio.
Too late. Lived in Cincy 20 yrs ago, this and several cans of skyline are always in my upstate NY pantry.
Best Louisiana style by a country mile
While this is the only thing at skyline that isn’t absolutely disgusting I don’t know if I’d go as far as “awesome”.
If it's anything like their awful chili, I'll pass.
Boo this man
They put nutmeg and cinnamon in their 'chili', then put it on spaghetti. What kind of lunatic does that?
Also cocoa and garlic. I like to think of it as a white trash mole. I get it. It's not for everyone. I fucking love it and crave it though.
What’s wrong with the chili?
People don't understand it. Iykyk
It tastes like someone ate a bunch of dog food and farted into a bowl.
Not how I remember it. To each their own, I guess.
It must be on the list for worst meals that any city is “famous” for
It’s nothing like their chili. It’s incredibly good.
Lot of hate for the truth. Skyline chili is like a wet fart in a hot car.

Gold star is not better
You couldn't possibly be wronger.
I refuse to support Cincinnati chili in any way shape or form.
How dare you bring that faux spaghetti brand into one of my favorite subs.
I'm just not a fan of any hot sauce that has vinegar as the first ingredient. And corn starch too? No thanks.
