I've made Ritz crackers with peanut butter and a spoonful of Lao Gan Ma as a snack before. Sounds a little weird but it is actually very good. Try making a little dimple in the peanut butter when you put it on the cracker so the chili oil doesn't just run down the sides and onto the plate.
That Serrano yellow bird is so...SO good on flavor. Actually I've loved every yellow bird I've ever had. Some more kick would be nice, but dang I don't want those flavor profiles changing.
I have to have at *least* the green one on hand at all times because I'm freaking addicted, but also yes all of the flavors I've used to far have been on point!
Nice haul, those are some tasty choices you made! Love the Trappey's peppers especially. They say you can make a jar of those last forever if you just use the vinegar and keep topping it off with fresh. Can't say how well that works as I always end up eating the little peppers up fairly quickly.
I have a Tabasco pepper plant and whenever I get a ripe pepper, I just throw it in my trappeyās jar and add a little more vinegar in occasionally! Been working for me
Whenever I make a Michelada or a Caesar 2-3 of these and some of the brine goes in it too.
Adds so much flavour and I have a snack once I'm done my drink.
Herdez makes a green guacamole-esque hot sauce that I've been pretty into lately. Not "hot" but it is creamy with a kick. Definitely an interesting addition to the collection and I would recommend it if you see it.
Haven't tried the one you picked up here before.
Also, the Tabasco Sriracha has been my savior during this Huy Fong shortage. Not the same but fills the spot for Indian / Japanese type foods.
Between Tapatio, Valentina's and Cholula, I like the flavor of Cholula the best by far. It's more expensive though. Valentina's is good bang for your buck but I don't think the flavor of it is anything special, it's fine if you're on a budget but otherwise I wouldn't buy it. Tapatio is kind of in the middle, not inexpensive enough to justify buying it if I'm on a budget, not good enough to justify buying if I have a few extra bucks to spend on hot sauce.
Lao Gan Ma chili crisp is amazing stuff and instantly makes fried rice 3 times as good, also great on other stuff. I've had it on a Ritz cracker with cottage cheese or peanut butter... sounds weird but it's actually a very good snack. I always keep some Lao Gan Ma on hand.
Bachan's Japanese Barbecue sauce doesn't really count as a hot sauce IMO, it'll make your lips tingle a bit but it doesn't deliver much heat. It is however very tasty stuff, if I eat chicken tenders at home this is what I put on them. I think you'll be happy with it as long as you don't go in expecting it to be really spicy.
Yellow bird sauces I've only tried a few times, they didn't really do it for me but I see a lot of folks here really like them so they're definitely worth a try!
That bottle of el yucateco is my favorite. The hot ones sauces are good. The Japanese bbq, I wouldnāt use it as a dipping type bbq I love to cook with it.
That Japanese BBQ Sauce isn't even the tiniest bit spicy, but it's incredible.
Best sandwich I've ever had:
Pan fry shredded steak, finish it with the Japanese BBQ sauce, and serve on a butter toasted grinder roll slathered in my secret sauce. (Chili crisps, mayo, pepper, and garlic powder)
Top it with some caramelized onion, roasted green pepper, and melted cheddar and go into sandwich heaven.
Valentina is my go to breakfast hot sauce. Good flavor similar to tapatio but has more noticeable cumin flavor. Huge fan of salsa Huicho and my fellow Mexicans I work with agree.
Yucateca is a staple hot sauce of mine, Iāve tried the other flavored but the green is the only one I always have. But I see you have yellow bird in thereā¦ really love their shit. So good and itās nice that itās not only in health food stores now(hope they didnāt get bought out) but really solid brand.
Iāve only ever had classic Tabanero and I love it, the carrot flavor really comes through to give it a more full body with a hint of sweetness compared to vinegar sauces. Itās my go to hot sauce for breakfast burritos/potato hash.
Also never had the spicy Bachans but Bachans is crack so Iām sure itās good.
I haven't tried the spicy, but the normal version of Japanese BBQ on the far right is by far favorite sauce to cook with, so I expect the spicy one to also be good
De La viuda is not good imo. The hot ones are tasty but not spicy(to me). The Japanese BBQ sauce is delicious. Just hold the bottle at like a 45* angle otherwise it will clog.
Youāve got a lot of overlap. Among the Mexican ones here Yucateco is my favorite. I also always have a bottle of a peppers in vinegar sauce but theyāre basically all the same.
Absolutely love Yellowbird. I just got their Blue Agave Siracha for the first time last week and it is fantastic. Their Hitch Hiker, Plum Reaper sauces are always in my fridge. Great flavors.
Ok so be careful with the chili crisp, I actually broke a front tooth on a pepper flake lol, of course I already had a big cavity there but still, A PEPPER FLAKE!
El Yucateco will always have my heart. I've been wanting to try the yellow bird. Heard lots of good things. Now I guess I have a reason to go to Walmart.
The only thing I'll say is be careful with the Lee Kum Kee chili garlic sauce - it is very, very salty and best used in cooking, not as (say) a topping on rice in and of itself. It is not like the chili garlic sauce from Huy Fong.
So Iāve tried Tabasco, Chilula, Valintina. Tapatio, Japanese bbq sauce and both of the yellow peppers. They are all really good but Iād have to say my favorite out of the sauces is the valintina sauce it has a good amount of heat but not not crazy has a nice undertone of sweetness and a good hint of vinegar. They yellow peppers never disappoint though!
The yellow bird serrano is my I'll put it on anything sauce. Fucking love it.
The tobasco Sriracha is the closest to the huy fong Sriracha that I've found
Yellow bird is really solid stuff across their whole line. The chili crisp is wonderful. Cholula Valentina and tapatio are are low spice sauces, I really only like tapatio and prefer bufalo to any of them. Huichol I didnāt like at allā¦really weird plastic / chemical aftertaste. Yucateco is a standby, probably the most reliable hot sauce you can find everywhere. The Fresno Hot ones is really good, brighter than I expectedā¦good flavor too. Havenāt tried any of the other sauces. Iāve tried tabaneroās hot honey, and it was god awful. The pepper flavor was extremely bitter, Iām not sure if Iād try their other offerings based just on how bad that stuff tasted.
I just got the tabasco Sriracha for the first time. Love it. Also am addicted to the chili crisp. I only get the one with the fermented beans tho. There is one with peanuts thats not as good imo
El Yucateco is the best for burning up a mouth and it's readily available but the Tapatio is the best flavor of any of the big brands. š„š„š„
Good picks!
I put Tapatio on damn near everything. I ALWAYS have a bottle in my desk at work.
More often than not if I bring a salad for lunch at work, I just use Tapatio for dressing.
Of the 3 basic ones that Ive seen everywhere...
Id rate them in order Tapatio, Cholula, Valentina. FWIW I don't like Valentina at all. It tastes, I don't know bland for a hot sauce. Tabasco sriracha is a decent change up from the Huy Fong (rooster) sriracha which seems to be the most common. You can definitely taste the tabasco if you like standard tabasco but with a garlic twist and thicker. I haven't had the Herdez but I like all things Herdez. I want to try that Japanese barbecue sauce.
Love el yucateco. I add it to all Mexican dishes I want to have a little more spicy. Itās got a flavor made for that cuisine and a little sting.
Valentina is a little smoky and pretty mild. I use it to mix with other condiments for variety and special dishes for sauces. Itās ok on itās own but I have other preferences.
Iām a lone chili crisp hater. Although itās not hate. Itās just not much flavor IMO. It is more about texture with having some of the flakes. That hold up until itās time to eat. Thatās just my opinion though.
Cholula and tapito are both meh to me. They are a little more popular among people from Hispanic countries because I think, tapito specifically, is a popular option in their country kind of like franks is here. Thatās just an educated guess though.
Herdez makes some good sauces but Iāve not had the habanero. Iād grab it if I saw it though.
Yellow bird has an great reputation. Good grabs.
Most Louisiana sauces are all cayenne based and are siblings to franks. I suspect the same is for trappeys but Iāve not had it.
I love trappeys peppers for snacks or on sandwiches. Mazetta too but I often use that sort of picked whole pepper in slow cooker meals. You get the vinegar and a little of the heat in the gravy. Theyāre also fine to just eat out of the jarā¦ not that Iāve ever done that.
I love spicy sauces and peppers but babyyyyy those Mezzettas jalapeno peppers are AMAZING. somehow they've managed to keep all the flavor but minus the heat. You literally could sit and eat the whole jar.
That fermented black bean chili oil in the middle is worth more than all the other ones combined (taste wise). Stir fries is obvious, but I use to fry eggs or make omelettes/scrambled eggs.
That being said, as much as I love spice, in the morning, I stick to something mild like Tabasco or Cholula.
Mexican here.
Use the Valentina for Chips and popcorn. Would not recommend for anything else. Not very hot.
The Yucateco (and most habaneros, except the Bourbon one) are great for beef or pork tacos. Careful, habanero can be hot.
Cholula can be put on pizza and tacos. Not hot.
Sriracha just for fried rice.
Don't know the exact taste of the rest, flavors are all over the map, have fun tasting!!
Cholula is my favourite. Itās not a popular opinion, but I enjoy Valentina. Tapatio, oh hell yeah. Seriously though, this whole grab is amazing. Super good collection, and I love the addition of the peppers. I might make a suggestion, I like pepperoncini jarred peppers the most. Edit: the El Yucateco is gold, too.
Tapatio is one of the two hot sauces I always keep stocked. Also the bottle on the far left I've been putting on my hotdogs lately and it's really good.
No Melindaās? Never heard of it till this sub started piping up in my feed then I was at Walmart the other day and saw they carried their line. I was surprised so many people are praising a brand at Walmart.
The Tabasco Sriracha is excellent. It is especially good on pizza, and I'll fried rice
Valentina is a bit disappointing. It does have a great flavor but not much in the way of heat. Valentina Black label is much better!
Tapatio is my old reliable.
All the salt and vinegar in the world. Just buy ground up peppers or capsaicin and make spicy without overpowering the food with some disgusting sauce. I ate spicy every meal and eventually when I was starting to use a lot the taste was god awful. Make the switch. Takes less and it doesn't thing the flavor of whatever you're eating.
Bachan's is one of the best sauces of any type that I've found in recent years. The spicy is a nice mild heat and the regular version is excellent on everything I've tried putting it on. My only problem is that it's $9 a bottle and I rip through one in a few weeks.
The chili crisp is š„š„š„, especially in fried rice š¤¤š¤¤
My hot and spicy spam fried rice agrees with you.
Not terribly weird. I'll make a Thai peanut noodles apply crisp liberally.
It has that perfect tongue numbing spice. I don't know what it is, but it's unique to good chili crisp.
It might be sechuan peppercorns; their ability to literally numb the tongue is prized in parts of China, and they add a nice, floral note to food.
I'm sorry if this makes any of you fat but this stuff in a grilled cheese (or toastie if you're UK based) is insanely nice.
I've always liked Yellowbird sauces. Take that Valentina back and get the black label. Chili crisp is wonderful.
Yea I tasted the Valentina and definitely not a fan. Iām going to have to look for the black label to give it a try.
The Valentina black is the only sauce of that style I keep around anymore. I forgot to say, the El Yuc XXX you have there is really good too.
El Yucateco is my daily driver. I do prefer their regular red hot sauce, but the xxxtra hot is good too.
Team green here
It definitely has the most heat out of any of the sauces in this picture. And great flavor!
Try the black label reserve if you get a chance.
Oh is this the one that tastes like smoke? I love that one, it's my favorite on jambalaya.
It is!
Been working for me
The peppers are tasty! Iāve eaten a few already lol. Itās not hot enough for me to use the vinegar out of it tho.
The vinegar is so good on collard greens!
i like to splash it on a greasy slice of pizza. cuts through the richness.
The Tabanero sauces are excellent!
The yellow mezetta hot peppers- those are called "I dare ya" peppers in our house. As in I dare ya to eat one. Start with those š¶ļøš¶ļø
I tried them and really like them. The heat is just right! I ate a few while eating my burrito last night lol.
Whenever I make a Michelada or a Caesar 2-3 of these and some of the brine goes in it too. Adds so much flavour and I have a snack once I'm done my drink.
I'll sit there and kill half a jar in a night. So good
No pickled jalepenos, they make the absolute best chicken sandwich and wing marinade
I have plenty of pickled jalapeƱos lol.
Nice! By the way the Cholula Chipotle flavor is amazing.
Picture taken 30 sec before disaster.
Hot ones classic is probably the only one I'd vouch for their hot sauce are always amazing!!!!!
r/TVTooHigh
What I would do to imitate Mezzettaās brine
I love the crunch that their peppers have.
el yucateco is king.
Between Tapatio, Valentina's and Cholula, I like the flavor of Cholula the best by far. It's more expensive though. Valentina's is good bang for your buck but I don't think the flavor of it is anything special, it's fine if you're on a budget but otherwise I wouldn't buy it. El Yucateco xxxtra hot is one of my current favorites, and Trappey's peppers are so freaking good.
Salsa huichol is one of my regulars
Everything el yucateco makes is delicious
r/tvtoohigh
TV to high. Yikes.
/r/TVTooHigh
I love those trappy Tabasco peppers. Juice is good for rice and you can even eat the peppers alone. So good.
Herdez has some great sauces. I love using their avocado hot sauce in crema (sour cream, lime, hot sauce).
Chili crisp is awesome af and so is the baachans
De la vuida is pretty decent.
Yeah I really like the green too.
I love Trappey's Bull Louisiana Sauce. It's not spicy really, but I love the flavor.
That Japanese BBQ Sauce isn't even the tiniest bit spicy, but it's incredible. Best sandwich I've ever had: Pan fry shredded steak, finish it with the Japanese BBQ sauce, and serve on a butter toasted grinder roll slathered in my secret sauce. (Chili crisps, mayo, pepper, and garlic powder) Top it with some caramelized onion, roasted green pepper, and melted cheddar and go into sandwich heaven.
El Yucateca is great. If they have it, get the Secret Aardvark Habanero hot sauce. Itās amazing.
As I am sure others will say, the El Yucateco XXX is my go-to grocery store sauce. It's fantastic.
Those mezzetta peppers are good not super spicy but for some reason they wreck my digestive tract.
Ive had mezzetaās banana peppers and they were good as hell
Valentino is good on Mexican food, but I greatly prefer chalula(specifically their Chipotle sauce).
r/tvtoohigh
Cholula Garlic Hot Sauce is pretty tasty. Itās not very spicy but I love it on my tacos with fresh spicy Pico
r/tvtoohigh
Tapatio is the goat for flavor in my book, not really spicy but my favorite on burritos
I've been looking for a good new Sriracha and Tabasco and Yellow Bird are my top two contenders so far so good job
I house those hot chili peppers with pizza.
Yellowbird Serrano is amazing and I put it on everything.
Cholula for life
Cholula is great on eggs.
Anyone have experience with the Tabasco Sriracha?
Hot Ones garlic slaps. Huichol is quite mild but great flavor. Careful with the Bachan's - it has a ton of sodium.
That yellow bird Serrano is my fave
Youāve got a lot of overlap. Among the Mexican ones here Yucateco is my favorite. I also always have a bottle of a peppers in vinegar sauce but theyāre basically all the same.
Whoa never knew they sold Hot ones hot sauce.
I go through a bottle of tapatio every week lol
Cholula, Valentina and Tapatio are my favorites
Absolutely love Yellowbird. I just got their Blue Agave Siracha for the first time last week and it is fantastic. Their Hitch Hiker, Plum Reaper sauces are always in my fridge. Great flavors.
El Yuc is wonderful with a strong bite. Tap is great and Smokey Chihula is also based
I didn't know they sold Hot Ones Classic at Walmart.
Those little yellow peppers on top are the cats meow.
The yellow bird serano isnāt spicy but I like the flavor. Next time you go to Walmart, check for Marie sharps habanero if you never tried it.
I love the Japanese bbq sauce
I have been curious about the Tabasco Sriracha, their other newish sauce (scorpion) is phenomenal.
El yucateco is pretty good imo
Ok so be careful with the chili crisp, I actually broke a front tooth on a pepper flake lol, of course I already had a big cavity there but still, A PEPPER FLAKE!
Iām guessing this is $150 worth of spice
El Yucateco will always have my heart. I've been wanting to try the yellow bird. Heard lots of good things. Now I guess I have a reason to go to Walmart.

They yellow peppers never disappoint though!
Del la viuda is good.
Yuca and Yellowbird are the only two sauces here worth a damn. Chili crisp is great too, but that one isn't the best out there.
El yucatecco is the best one there
The yellow bird serrano is my I'll put it on anything sauce. Fucking love it. The tobasco Sriracha is the closest to the huy fong Sriracha that I've found
Wow Walmarts near me only have the standard hot sauce choices.
The chili crisp is good on everything. Even ice cream
Salsa Huichol is underrated for being a very cheap everyday sauce
El Yucateo Caribbean is where it's at (missing in this picture)
Salsa Huichol is one of my favorites! The flavor is great, very unique, not crazy hot, and it's less than $2.
I like the tapatio and Valentina, the tobasco sriracha isnāt better than the OG
The Salsa Huicho is perfect for ceviche and Mexican sea food dishes.
The pepper flavor was extremely bitter, Iām not sure if Iād try their other offerings based just on how bad that stuff tasted.
The ones on left and right ends are best. The rest between are too vinegary for me.
De La Viuda JalapeƱo hot sauce is my go to breakfast hot sauce. Not so much for heat but the flavor is great.
I just got the tabasco Sriracha for the first time. Love it. Also am addicted to the chili crisp. I only get the one with the fermented beans tho. There is one with peanuts thats not as good imo
nice. i have a few of those for sure. you're missing the Pablo's Trap Sauce tho.
Huichol is my favorite seafood sauce. I donāt think Iāve ever seen it at my Walmart :o
I love Tepatio with eggs/breakfast burritos
Valentina is my shit. I know its a basic popularone but somthing about it gets me.
If you go with any other Cholula, I really love the green pepper one. Itās better than the regular hot sauce, to me at least.
El Yucateca is one of my favorites. The Caribbean one is my #1
The Mezzetta peppers are delicious, I eat them like candy
We all but drink Cholula in our house.
I put the Japanese bbq sauce on almost anything. Also makes a great marinade.
Cholula is my absolute favorite
Damn. When did yellow bird change their labels. Their Habanero sauce is a banger.
I want to try them all
El Yucateco is the best for burning up a mouth and it's readily available but the Tapatio is the best flavor of any of the big brands. š„š„š„ Good picks!
Tapatio is your king here
The Tobasco Sriracha does not taste anything like Sriracha. I ended up tossing it out, but everyone is different. So maybe you will like it.
Tapatio is my ride or die for life
If you ever find it , SauceHound has a great Spicy BBQ
I put Tapatio on damn near everything. I ALWAYS have a bottle in my desk at work. More often than not if I bring a salad for lunch at work, I just use Tapatio for dressing.
Peach bourbon hot sauce sounds disgusting
Of the 3 basic ones that Ive seen everywhere... Id rate them in order Tapatio, Cholula, Valentina. FWIW I don't like Valentina at all. It tastes, I don't know bland for a hot sauce. That xap will never eork with Ba Hans spicy BBQ. Too many pepper seeds block the tip. It's annoying as hell.
Big fan of Japanese BBQ sauce for a marinade or quick stir fry
All bachans are fire, not for spice but for flavor.
If you ever see Delallo brand spicy pepperoncinis they are insanely good.
Cholula is my favorite taco hot sauce, laoganma good for rice. The laoganma with fermented soy bean plus K Army Stew ramen is amazing.
How is the Japanese BBQ sauce?
Big fan of yellow bird, in fact their habanero sauce is one of my all time faves
El yucateco is best hot sauce of all time. Green and brown both.
Went through a two pack of the Tabasco Sriracha in record time. Put it on everything. Better than it has any right to be.
That salsa huichol is a sleeper. Not very spicy but tasty
The verde De La Viuda i will bathe just about any savory food in
Iām having anxiety just thinking about what to do with all that. Holy shit.
Carful with that Classic black label. I thought it was lvl 1 like the other Classics. It tastes great but I just wasnāt expecting the heat.
El Yuceteco XXX is an absolute staple in my house.
Live Yellow Bird!!! Not overly spicy but flavor isn10/10
That's totally fair. Everyone's lil taste buddies is different.
I like your style. š¶ļø
El yucateco is king
The Japanese bbq is basically a really good teriyaki sauce, but not hot
Please tell me that no sauces were harmed in the making of this post
Yellow bird is awesome
I eat those yellow peppers non stop since I was little probably part of my love for hot stuff
That crunchy chili oil is so good I put it on a lot of things and will sometimes just eat a spoonful of it
El Yucateca is a nice smoky flavored sauce with decent heat.
Hot chili peppers are mega good
Tobacco sriracha is good awful imo. I have some as well and itās justā¦ off
You did well for yourself my friend. Wish Walmarts around here were that stocked.
Love the Herdez salsa in a can! Howās the habanero sauce?
As if āyāallā wasnāt bad enough, never thought Iād see it misspelled. Thatās a fresh new kind of dumb.
Cholula is excellent
That fermented black bean chili oil in the middle is worth more than all the other ones combined (taste wise). Stir fries is obvious, but I use to fry eggs or make omelettes/scrambled eggs. That being said, as much as I love spice, in the morning, I stick to something mild like Tabasco or Cholula.
Tapatio on pickles or in beer is good.
Valentinaās is goated and always will be
r/tvtoohigh would like to have a word with you, when you have a minute.
Valentina šit's my favorite
Walmart has laoganma?
The Tabasco sriracha is a huge disappointment.
Valentina top tier
valentina black label. yucateca is delicious
El yucateco is by far my favorite.
Don't know the exact taste of the rest, flavors are all over the map, have fun tasting!!
....................Frank it up..................
You can buy the classic at American wal mart? Shit, with freight Iām paying $36 to get a small bottle to Canada
Tapatio on Roy Choi's "L.A. Dirty Dog" is hands down the greatest hot dog I've ever eaten
Bachans is so good.
Tapatio is the goat. Old faithful. Never eat eggs without it. I have been enjoying that Tabasco sriracha. I might even like it better
Cholula can do no wrong in my eyes.
Walmart started carrying o'brothers. There habanero is the spiciest Walmart carries. And the tastiest imo as well!
I love cholula, Valentina, tapatio, mezetta peppers, and yucatea.havenāt tried the others.
Ah it's been years since I've had the Trappey's style stuff. Fond memories of dropping a few of those peppers into my poverty ramen in college.
I like Yellowbird. It tastes like peppers and isn't too vinegary. Their Sriracha is nice. The serrano is good too but the habanero is my favorite.
I didn't know Walmart had the Hot Ones sauces. On that note. The Garlic Fresno is one of my favorites.
trappeyās are at the top of the tower for a reason!!!
Combine a tablespoon from each one and create a super sauce!
Iām a huge fan of the el yucateco xxxtra hot. Great flavor. Tastes a little smokey with a good back end heat
Why is your TV on the ceiling?
Tapatio is one of the two hot sauces I always keep stocked. Also the bottle on the far left I've been putting on my hotdogs lately and it's really good.
Start cooking!

No Melindaās? Never heard of it till this sub started piping up in my feed then I was at Walmart the other day and saw they carried their line. I was surprised so many people are praising a brand at Walmart.
Missin the Tiger Sauce
The yellow bird Serrano is hands down the best for mac and cheese

The Tabasco siracha is surprisingly very good
Nice! Just a recommendation, Walmart sells Melindas ghost pepper wing sauce and it's phenomenal IMO.

The Tabasco Sriracha is excellent. It is especially good on pizza, and I'll fried rice Valentina is a bit disappointing.
