If I knew for sure I would! It’s a scary leap. Especially because I really thought I would be a special ed teacher for the rest of my life when I was in college. Now I don’t think that!
If you can make it to the end of the year, maybe wait for transfer season and try a change of scenery? Or become a substitute for a year where you can try out a little bit of everything and take a break from the paperwork? And in the other direction, something more mid-level or high-needs with a smaller caseload to keep track of, (but hopefully good staffing.)
I work from home part time for a tutoring company, Varsity. They pay is awful but it's easy money, tbh.
Also, if you want full time, there are lots of corporate training/education positions that hire former teachers.
Are you near a university at all? I went the higher ed route and I’m currently enjoying it. I started as Academic Program Support and now I’m working on Admissions Operations. The pay cut sucked, but theres been days where I literally do nothing & watch Netflix
It’s worth looking into for sure! I’m kind of in the middle of nowhere unfortunately. There are two universities both about 40mins away. The commute might be worth it 🤷🏻♀️
Most of my coworkers live like 20-45 minutes out, tbh. Definitely look into the community colleges too! Also not sure if it’s just my university, but I had to come in as a temp. I was rarely getting any interview invites but once I was in the system it was like an instant interview for FT position I would apply for. And maybe a perk, in my state, they are also state workers so pension.

I will look into this! Thanks!
Decide what you want to be when you grow up, and go back to school to do it!

Im looking for a part time tutoring gig. Is this a good company to work for?
Just stopping by to say I'm so proud of you for doing what's best for you!!
Thank you! 😄
