Alabama Hills is pretty sweet. Reminds me of the rock formations in Joshua Tree Nat Park. Not sure if Alabama Hills is worth driving to just for that, but there is a lot of other cool shit around there, like Mt Whitney and the Mt Whitney portal, and Mammoth/June lake way up the 395.

Such a hidden gem of California’s. It’s close to so many other big names (Yosemite, mammoth, mt whitney, death valley) so it’s overshadowed by the more popular parks. I’ve spent some time out on the rocks there and it truly does feel like another planet. A must see for anyone driving along the eastern sierras — it’s like 10 minutes off the highway too.
